I'm just looking at the fact that mage now has a 3 mana 3/4. This is great. Turn 3 this, turn 4 Water Elemental. Midrange freeze mage becomes a thing with this
I said this in the legendary thread...mage needed a solid good drop on 3 and this is actually amazing. Turn 3 its rock solid stats and in lategame this can be cycled and doesnt clunk your deck.
New mage staple for sure and best card revealed so far in my opinion
this is strong for a lot of the same reasons talonpriest is strong. the requirement to get the bonus is just playing the game (sticking a 2-drop vs bolting your opponent in the face) and the reward is about as powerful (furthering your board lead vs drawing more burn)
[x] solid non-secret card for Mage in the 3-drop slot
[x] solid but not broken or OP conditional effect
Good card, this will definitely see play across most Mage decks. You'd be fine playing it on turn 3 even without the effect. This will probably even be an okay pick in Arena for the stats alone.

Wtf guys, how is this better than Acolyte? It only draws ONE card when theres a frozen minion, it doesnt draw for every frozen minion. People are hyping it up for no reason Oo
I mean..it is pretty good, but I thought they were trying to move away from Freeze Mage...this just seems like another strong tool for that deck but maybe I'M overestimating it.
HOwever, It does look interesting when combined with the freeze related cards of previious expansions, likeShatter and that 5/5 that goes to 7/7. Maybe we'll have Frostmage at some point
As far as i can tell, they're slowly shaping up a midrange freeze mage, something like secret mage but with freeze stuff instead of secrets. And can there be a better opportunity than the frost themed expansion? That shall be a cool archetype (pun intended), so it's a nice card, but how is the archetype going to be called since we already have a freeze mage? Shatter mage? Cryo mage?

Depends on the deck it's in right? If I am playing more tempo based curve deck rather than a burn or combo mage then this is obviously better than acolyte. I think there purposes are a bit different. Acolytes main purpose is to draw with very little emphasis towards tempo. Meanwhile this card, with it's stats, main purpose is to create good temp with a little emphasis on draw. With this guy I won't be looking to draw from him most of them time. If he comes to me late though I can still place a body on board and draw while delaying their tempo. Not bad.
Thankfully it has on curve stats, so it's never bad.
Wild Mech Mage got a nice bump from this.
Turn 2 Snowchugger
Turn 3 Coldwraith activated
Or if you happen to get the freeze spare part from any of your mechs!
Really really strong card

Vvreeeew.
Great card. :)
Freeze trap secret will be the next Mage Secret, guaranteed.
Sorry wrong thread

I tried having fun once. It was awful.

Solid three drop. Great for the mid to late game to combo with frost bolt or other freeze mechanic.
Hmm... seems Frozen stuff will be a thing.
Hardly surprising, considered the theme of the expansion ;)
