This should be a Mage class card. If they're serious about Mage rivalling Shaman as an elemental focussed class. It also fits the Mage archetype of Firelands portal and removal/burst cards. If other classes are getting solid Dino archetypes, and Elemental is the Mage variation, a weak Pyros legendary (and water ele) is just not going to cut it. And they better not make the Mage quest elemental based.
This only makes Shaman WAY stronger than Mage with access to so many more elemental cards (existing strong cards included). Elemental Mage is like a watered down Elemental Shaman.

I think there is no way the mage quest is not "play X elementals" with a legendary like Pyros. However, if they get a 3-3, (+1+2 if you played an elemental last turn) for 3 and and an insane quest reward, like 8-8 for 5, "your spells cost 0 this game" I think mage should be just fine!
Arguably the strongest "card with an unexciting effect" in this expansion. This curves out perfectly after Fire Elemental and into Kalimos, and is pretty much an above average Firelands Portal effect. Elemental Shaman is going to be a thing unless the meta becomes all Pirates or something. Unlike Stone Sentinel, this card is weak but a still passable 6/6 body if you play it without triggering the elemental effect, making it basically an auto-include in every elemental based deck.
Ok guys, this is super strong. such a strong body with such a cool effect, I mean wow!! But is this really what we want in the game? Do we really want to see all the time simple body with simple effect attached to it? I mean come on there will be no strategy plan with that card, T6 Fire Elemental, T7Blazecaller then T8 shaman legendary. It is just boom-boom-badaboom. Feels like ok guys T6 mysterious challenger T7 Dr boom T8 tyrion, or even turn 1 trogg T2 totem golem T3-4 7/7 boom badaboum. Ok it was powerfull but damn was it boring.
True, but I'm happy to face decks with strong 6,7,8 over broken turn 1,2 any day.
And this late game strength still isn't enough to contest Jade's.

It is perfectly possible to outpace jades without being hardcore aggro. A hardcounter would be old-school midrange hunter with freezing trap, hunter's mark, mad scientist and prenerf cotw. The Jade druid deck runs 6 ramp cards, tempo losses that can be punished... by elemental mage?
A Firelands Portal for Elemental decks. Gives up the spell/spellpower synergy and the possibility of getting stupidly good minions like Doomguard or Earth Elemental in exchange for a more reliably good body, and only needs minor setup.
If an elemental deck sees play, this will see play.
Um... are you this stupid? That's literally how card games are made
I'm not sure how this "forced archetype" meme got started - presumably, something must have happened over the weekend, as I've suddenly seen the term being thrown around more than a dozen times over the past couple days.
As the second poster correctly points out - it isn't exactly breaking new ground for an expansion to push the themes which it explores. Some cards will be hits, and others will be misses. From what I gather, the "edgy" kids think that themed cards which are good enough to see play warrant use of the "cool new meme." If there is substance to the affected criticism, perhaps one of the critics could explain what they are pretending to say.
I think is worse, this is conditional Portal don't, Portal give you a 4/4 5/5 most of the time but you can use in the same turn you topdeck and have synergy with spell damage and minions like Mana Wyrm.
But is ok, this is a neutral card and Portal is a class card.
urgh why can this go face? if elemental decks get popular and there is no decent heal in this set its curve out eles try to reduce enemys hp to 5 asap...what a fun...
Neutral Firelands Portal that always give 6/6, which is way better than a random 5-drop. Should be one of the strongest Elementals so far.

Pretty much the best elemental card so far ! (maybe except for their legendary) .
Everybody knows how powerful firelands portal is .

And it even goes under the BGH radar!

I hope when you play this card it takes the voice of a firebat from sc1 " Lets burn"
Dr 7 has returned
Why didnt North Sea Kraken ever seen constructed play?
More curvestone decks inc.
We have all been waiting for the minions that make an elemental deck worth running. Tol'vir Stoneshaper was a great start.
Blazecaller seals the deal. Looking forward to playing this.
Don't let your memes be dreams~~
Elemental decks are very good to play in curve but if you run out cards and start to topdeck is the worse mechanic ever.
You have to be sure this never happen when build the deck, you need 5 or 6 draw engines.

Cute card, its mini Ragnaros.
