I hope they give quests for free and even considered it but I highly doubt they will as they can make lots more money if they make you get them in packs. Also, there are only 4 neutral legends this expansion making it even less likely.
If they did give quests for free though it would make the game a lot more accessible with a lot less legendaries to collect and easier entry for new players, so hopefully this happens.
This card makes me wonder whether it's better to actually play it or just keep it in your hand for better odds. Maybe until it reaches 8/8 stats or until you have a suboptimal turn?
This is not going to be pretty, the fact that you can discard a card non-stop and get a bonus each time you do makes this incredible in mitigating the pain of discarding, the bonus is nice but even if a huge clutchmother is removed, the damage has been done. You now have a massive card advantage than you would have had if you didnt discard clutchmother. With the sheer impact of discard cards tempo gained per mana spent, you can literally lose very little card advantage while still putting out massive power for cheap mana cost. I'm theory crafting a discard deck and i think this has great potential with the new quest, which i thought wasnt going to be played, but now that you can more safely discard, i see immense potential in a midrange discardlock with maybe some demon synergy thrown in.
Fun side note, i am going to test summoning portal in this kind of deck, its a reasonable discard which can also be used to empty out your hand to guarantee discarding specific cards, so keep that in mind, since a midrange deck doesnt need to worry too much about losing tempo for 4 mana, especially if the rest of your plays give huge tempo advantage
Please. If there's one thing Zoo loves it's having no hand to play because you've discarded it all!

Nah. Zoo likes to keep board control. Discardlock is an aggro deck. Zoo is not (despite often being mistaken). This card doesn't help the later, only the former.

I thought the sarcasm in the post was pretty clear, but I'll introduce a /s next time. :D
This card is to crazy, but having discard hit this card often - best have a small hand. This might get no more then being a 6/6. The Lock's Edwin VanCleef
card's not good at all tbh. I personally don't think discardlock could ever work since it's way too rng based, and there's higher chance of you being screwed by the rng than being rewarded by it. for dicardlock to do well, you need both a card that discards a card(ex. soulfire, darkshire librarian), and a card that benefits from the discard (ex. silverware golem, clutchmother zavas), and if you're unwilling to go hellbent and have more than one card when you play a discard enabler, good rng to ensure the right card gets discarded. The base stats on this card is pretty bad, so it only becomes worthwhile if you have it in your hand on turn 1, and then proceed to be lucky enough to discard this card at least once. Beyond that, the card gets worse the more the game moves on since the card has no immediate board impact and the opponent's chance of having an answer to this card gets higher the longer the game lasts. I doubt this card would see any play at all
Another card that is totally overhyped. While this is by far not a bad card; i see this a bit more mediocre card than people think. It's somewhere between playable and very good. Discard is still random, and this is a very very slow card. While this helps discardlock to reach their quest, it's still only a legendary, so 1 of a kind. And if you don't discard it, you get a vanilla 2 mana 2/2 beast; and for warlock that's terrible. If it was a demon, then the power-level would be much higher, but the beast-tag does nothing for Warlocks and hurts Hunters in wild.
Still: it's better than Lakkari Sacrifice. And i still think that discardlock WITHOUT Lakkari Sacrifice is MUCH STRONGER than with it. And this card definitively help Discardlock and makes it better, still discard is still too random. Discardlock would need at least ONE CARD that always gets discarded first AND get a benefit from it. And we didn't saw the rest of the cards yet. While i doubt there will be much more discard-synergy, if there is one, the deck might reach a critical point where it gets really good.
Thanks, the first comment I agree with. Nothing to add.
You basically said discardlock is much worse with 2 3/2 imps each turn than without them.
I see no logic here...
Nobody is forcing you to play the quest on round 1...
It's still too slow. Discard-lock is a tempo driven aggro deck first and foremost. The quest would make more sense in mid-range, but that kinda doesn't want to discard their entire hand all the time.
However, Lakkari Sacrifice is not one such quest. If you have a valid 1-drop, play it. You just need to fit in Lakkari Sacrifice prior to your first discard.
Don't craft anything yet if you are F2P. Wait a week or two for people to figure out what works, then you craft. If you don't, there is a high chance you will end up with useless legendaries.
I am not a real fan of this card I thought it would be great but I have played many games with it and there is only one game where this card did anything that useful. The concept is fine but in reallity if you do not have this card in your opening hand you will probably not get any value from it. Unlike van cleef for rogue you need to discard this guy 2,3 or 4+ times to really be OP and unlike vancleef they KNOW you have the card so if they have a removal they will just keep it where van cleef they may think you have it but they are not sure.
Just not a great card. had it been an epic card so you could have two per deck it would have been a lot more consistent for disco lock.
I hope they don't forget about control warlock this expansion. It seems like all their attention is on Zoo.
