it s starting ur oppening hand, the point about it ok if u play priest u lose tempo but it s warlock u can draw cards and u have such a cheap discard cards to tempo so gettin 3/2 imps like after turn 6 mostly maybe bit later is actually sick :(
A difficult quest to be sure. However, discard lock is already almost strong enough with Malchezaar's Imp and Silverware Golem, which are IMO pretty much requirements for completing this quest. With one or two more discard synergy cards and I think we'll see a Tier 1 or 2 discard lock being played.
That being said, there's lots of valid counter arguments posted throughout this thread. Discarding another discard card makes this quest exponentially more difficult to complete. It's possible to discard enough other discard cards to actually make it literally impossible to complete the quest, which is a game-throwing handicap if I've ever seen one. This card also requires discards. So when you play that Doomguard or Soulfire with an empty hand, you aren't making progress on your quest. It's a powerful card to be sure. Two 3/2 imps at the end of every one of your turns is a powerful effect (it's not the end of every turn as some people have claimed, just the end of your turn). But this quest man....it's rough.
I almost want to vote this as Bad. Until we see at least one or two more discard synergy cards though. I'm going to vote it as Playable though even though I'm actually not convinced it is (yet).
The quest always appears in your hand, you can mulligan it away but.....I mean I'd rather play it turn one and play a more mid rangeish deck than full blown out aggresion. Once you get the portal done you get a ton of kill potential and pressure
You start the game with one card less, you cannot control the cards you will discard, the absolute necessary minion for this deck is a die easy 1/3 demon.
How many games you will out of steam and need to discard more one or two cards to complete the quest?
> wonder if you can discard your portal on the same play as completing the quest
This is entirely possible if you have, say, brann on board and play a Doomguard (although brann is rotating out). It'll make for a great Trolden clip at least :)
Baron Geddon meta ? Lolz. At least he gonna buy you a turn or two if warlock dont have removal in hand which he ussally dont because of all the discard before.
I'm pretty skeptical about being able to pull off this quest. If you're running discard you're going to have a hard time surviving until you summon the portal since you have to cut defensive options. Maybe you'll be able to play discard cards without getting run over.
Potentially combos in an unorthodox Deathwing control combo (you'd likely run death wing as your only discard card save maybe Soulfire). You can curator to tutor for death wing and on turn 10, dump your hand to clear the board and fill it with imps with a follow up 5 mana card, making even the removal of deathwing not too harmful. Tap to regain your resources back after wards.
First jades and now this, Blizzard must really hate control
I agree with you that jade is retarded, and so frustrating to play against.
But this warlock new mechanic is awesome, i am not against control decks ,but not everyone likes to play on curve 1 2 3 and trade trade, trade... use removals and then they callthem self's control players and skilled players.. naah that's just the game plays it self, such as jade decks and reno decks... draw well trade trade gg... nothing special..
I am into new things.. I dont like fatigue games, and i dont like games that last for nonsense such as control warrior armor up armor up armor up... its just boring and annoying...
I still think that this could be better in a control deck because Deathwing could discard 6 cards more consistently than many other cheap cards. Just need to survive and play like a control until turn 10 and then place the big dragon. You will have an empty board with 12/12 and next turn you can play the reward and start to fill your hand back with Tap and enjoy your Imps. Sounds strong enough.
Just go play some discolock for a week and check the amount of cards you discard each game. I doubt you'll reach 6 often and when you do, you probably already won the game. Not only is it hard to get that amount of discard cards out, you also risk discarding them and therefor ending up with even less cards that can trigger the quest.
Might work in a control deck with Deathwing, but even then... i doubt it...

The Imps are summoned at both turns, so after you play this, you will have summoned 4 Imps not two.
It is a lot of value, but I think there is more discard sinergy at this expansion. Maybe the Legendary has the first Ilidan card text?
So is this every turn? Is that actually verified? like 4 imps per round? from that context it seems a little better.
Strong card.
Strong enough for weaker drops to be included in Zoo and make it reliable? We shall see...

Love it. Extremely powerful and very difficult to pull off without seriously compromising your deck. Think Reno on steroids.
I also like that this seems more difficult than the other revealed because Warlock has the least downside to starting short one card.
This card really don't will work, a quest will need to discard cards but quests make you start the game with one card less.
This card is bad like priest quest is bad too.
If they release cards like "Draw 3 cards and discard 3 cards at random" maybe works.

Just what we needed, more ways for fast decks to cheese control!
I think it will work, maybe it will not be the best deck but it will work.
I will try it on first day for sure since Zoo/Discolock is my favourite deck.

Aaaand I have 99 skills, but the english language ain't one. :D
People who think this is a great card are insane.
