5 mana 8/4 - Very aggressive stats. Hello Jade Lightning
5 mana 5/4 can't be targeted - If Spectral Knight isn't good, why is this good?
5 mana 5/4 windfury - Very aggressive stats. Hello Jade Lightning.
5 mana 5/4 deathrattle summon 2 1/1s - It's pretty good, but slow.
Not trying to be cynical, just being honest here. If it sticks though, it does have Menagerie Warden synergy. I suppose the ability to pick to the situation is good though. Not sure it's worth an understatted minion thoughthe
One thing that makes this card really solid is the tribal tag meaning it can have synergies with other things like you noted the warden. the beast tag takes this card a makes it more than what it is on the surface. Booty bay can't be cloned. 8/4 is great for bating removal still not strong in terms of stats so please don't miss understand me, but it is threatening same with the windfury ESPECIALLY THE WINDFURY. I can get a duplicate with warden or savage roar and bust you for 14.
As for the other effects where you say hello jade lightning it is obvious that you wouldn't select that option vs Jade shaman's you are picking according the to match up and the read you have on your opponent's hand
So based purely on these options I'd say that you need a low attack/high health minion, in which case there should be no problem finding a decent option.
Good card. I will not pay any attention to the "will see no constructive play" comments because we have not tested out how good the adapt mechanic will be and we still don't know what the missing four options of adapt are, we only got six options so far. What I like about the card and the mechanic is that it gives you options according to the situation. Sometimes there may be situations in which you need a taunt minion if you are on the defensive or a minion with divine shield if you are pushing for the board. It encourages decision making. Besides there have been far too many times in the past in which this community evaluates how strong or weak a card will be and gets it spectacularly wrong.
So I will not just dismiss a card as being "not constructive worthy" when I have absolutely no clue how strong the new mechanic is going to be. Calling a card "garbage" when we have no idea how good the new mechanic will be is something that can end up biting you in the backside if the card ends up being good and you end up getting stomped the first time you encountered it because you underestimated it. Also I would rather have interesting cards like this than blatantly overpowered nonsense that gets played in every deck so that is a plus.

Valid points. I agree with everything you said, but I still don't think this card will see play. Unless Beast Druid gets some crazy support, that is.
Will see zero play in constructed. I'm not even sure it's a good pick in Arena, I'd pass over it for a Pit Fighter every time.
Once it's released you couldn't pick a pit fighter. Tgt is rotating out of the new standard arena. I'd say this takes a good place in arena for its versatility.
5 mana 5/4 can't be targeted - If Spectral Knight isn't good, why is this good?
Because it's a beast
But Beast Druid is currently trash tier. It'll need more support before it matters that it's a beast, but I do understand that it gives it more potential in the long-term.
Time has shown that high risk low reward cards are bad and this is understated. Also i dont like the 10 choices, would have been better with 3 fixed ones in my opinion. This again just pushes RNG fest.
2 great modes, 1 situational, but potentially great mode, and 3 situational and potentially worthwhile, but mediocre overall modes. Since you are given 3 choices, I'd say this is a pretty strong card.
By the time you play this, you've already seen half the game and know whether you've drawn out removal or if your opponent probably has some in reserve.
Also, Druid card, so it's not unreasonably a turn 2-3 play.

Shudderwock means driving a clown car in circles around your opponent while he swings his sword at you. Half the time he chops you and your car to pieces. The other half you park on his legs and 40 clowns come out one by one, trampling him to death.
I am truly interested in what other cards they intend on applying the Adapt effect to. I am also interested in the only 4 hidden effects those might make this card a bit better.

Remember when they first announced Jade cards and no one knew exactly what that entailed, and declared the mechanic weak and unplayable?
Good thing nobody made the same mistake here and analyzed the card based on knowing only 60% of the adapt options...
In all fairness, that was partially due to not knowing the mechanic and partially because we didn't see lightning, claws, and idol first. The first couple of jade cards were pretty mediocre. This card on the other hand is already fairly strong and is unlikely to get significantly weaker from added modes.
This is actually overpowered, with the current 6 texts it can have. A 5/4 divine shield BEAST, or 8/4 BEAST for 5 cost is actually great. Then you have options for stickness, protecting face, making mages rage(Can't be targeted by spells or hero power). This is a great Aggro and midrange card at the same time. It's literally never bad.
The problem is the powercreep it brings. It's literally better than every divine shield minion in the game, excluding Tirion. Plus, it has the versatility of NOT being a divine shield minion against ping classes(mage), while gaining some other sort of advantage. And it is a beast.
Other texts might make it slightly worse tho, time will tell

I agree with most of what you said. However, I think you undervalue the 'Can't be targeted' a bit. Spectral Knight was never bad per se. It just wasn't amazing. The thing about this card being arguably better is that it's not always going to be a 5/4 Can't be Targeted. And like you already pointed out, a 5/4 Divine Shield or 5/4 Deathrattle, Summon 2 1/1s is actually pretty good. So a 5/4 Can't be Targeted is a nice fallback for a solid but not great 3rd option.
We also don't know what 4 of the options are going to be. I can easily see 'Draw a Card' being one of the options. A 5/4 Draw a Card for 5 right as Azure Drake is being phased out would be very nice. It'd just be less reliable because again, you couldn't actually rely on it to always be Draw a Card. And of course, that's just speculation seeing as I have 0 proof that actually will be an option.
What I'm getting at is, you asked the question that if Spectral Knight isn't good, why would this? The answer basically (and potentially) lies in the mechanic. The more options a card gives you, the better it usually ends up being. And I agree with you, some of these options are lackluster. A 5/4 Taunt for 5 is terrible. But some of the options seem good and more are yet to be revealed, so there's a chance for some to be exceptional.
I'm a bit skeptical about Adapt in general though. With this card being our only option to evaluate, it'll be hard to accurately get a read on them. As it stands though, it seems like we'll get a bad card for the cost and have to discover an effect to give them enough value to be playable. Everyone remember Jousting!? When the cards worked, they were good. REALLY good. When they didn't work, they were bad. REALLY bad. I'm just hoping that these cards don't fall into the same trap. We all know that 5/4 for 5 is awful. So it seems like when I play a 5/4 minion for 5, I'm going to need it to be REALLY good or I'm wasting a deck slot. Those times when the Adapt mechanic wiffs and I'm stuck with a 5/4 crap minion, I'd have been better off playing pretty much any other reliable 5 drop.
Wow, people are rating this as good? It's a 5 mana card worth 4 mana of stats. So you are essentially paying an extra mana for a random effect. The majority of which have no strong effect. Divine shield probably being the best, but even then is very weak. Beast synergy though. Beast druid. Ughhh. Stop with beast druid. Make tree ent druid a thing.
i'm shocked by the results; i'd have figured this site would have panned this obviously playable card. 5/4 for 5 mana kinda blows. But the fact that you get some pretty choice (out of 3, oh geez) options you're gonna find something that works for the situation. plus, druid can't exactly turn away decent beasts. hey reslin (dude who friended me after a sweet casual game in which my beast c'thun druid took on his inner fire priest thing) i told you the next xpac would include some more beast synergy for druid!

Definitely looks awesome in Arena. However... some of the choices for adapt are terrible.
+3 Attack: 5 mana 8/4 is not going to survive a turn.
Windfury: Same thing, basically.
Taunt: Booty Bay Bodyguard, anyone?
Overall, I don't think this has the power to see ranked play, but this may hopefully improve Druid's condition in Arena right now.

Can't be targeted is awesome in some matches like mage for example.
Spectral Knight don't see play because Azure Drake trumps over any 5 mana minion in game.
This card is crap, but I'd rather look at the adapt mechanic separately and try to see what a minion needs to have to make good use of a given option.
Liquid Membrane
An option that ranges from bad to excellent, depending on what deck and class you are up against, and the base stats on the minion.
Flaming Claws
To be good it requires the minion to have higher health than mana cost. On minions with too low health it's horrible.
Crackling Shield
An option that ranges from horrible to good, depending on what deck and class you are up against.
Living Spores
Good against aggro and on cheap minions.
Massive
Good on any minion with higher health than mana cost, and just generally against aggro.
Lightning Speed
Bad
So based purely on these options I'd say that you need a low attack/high health minion, in which case there should be no problem finding a decent option.

it adapts on the turn to the board state
its a valuable mechanic, cant be compared to existing cards with same stat+text
