As stranglethorn/druid of the claw 3 and 4, there may be some value to this card. But that presupposes that Beast Druid is worth playing, and that you want extra copies of stranglethorn/druid of the claw in that deck.
I think the biggest thing detracting from this card is the existence of Stranglethorn Tiger which does basically what you'll often want this card to do, but more consistently with a better body. With that being said, I think Tiger is a very strong card that has only seen fringe play due to the meta and I think depending on the rest of the adapt pool this could actually be better, especially as a Warden target.
Right, but I think an "Adapt" specific multiplier without a multiplier for all battlecrys will make sense. Each set that introduces a new mechanic usually has a multiplier for that mechanic, Baron, Brann, Fandral. I would be surprised if there wasn't a "get 2 adaptations" legendary.
Well they didn't release said multipliers as soon as they became a huge thing. Also those multipliers have only been used in cards that have been around since beta. We haven't seen any discover multipliers or Inspire multipliers because those have lifespan. The other stuff like battlecry, deathrattle, and choose one will always be around.
Maybe other stuff though? It would be cool to get a card that enhances combo cards in Rogue.
Changed my vote from bad to playable after seeing the remaining adapt option.
With +3 health you get +1/+1 over druid of the claw taunt form, and with stealth you get -1 health over Tiger. But you get to choose which one you want.
All the other options are generally bad, but situationally good. Taunt is the worst one but it will save you from weapon/minion lethal whenever needed. +3 atk is almost unplayable but will give you lethal in topdeck mode or if you took over the board early game. The deathrattle option is really good with savage roar.
Definitely good enough to see play outside of beast druid archetype imo (i think beast druid will stick with Tiger), especially since we don't have azure drake anymore in standard. If it wasn't for the +3 health adapt option this card would be so much worse.
I think you're underestimating a lot of the options...The spores will be good for token and Deathrattle decks....Also any pick you make will directly counter the board or support your deck, that in itself is value. All of these Adapt card will be more nuts in Arena...You can +3 attack to force lethal next turn and the list goes on....Probably the best mechanic in hearthstone to date...They need to continue down this path of having high skill set/decision making cards.

I mean, it's Dinosaur Druid. It's going to be worth playing for the lulz.
I voted "playable" on this, but I'm reserving my right to be salty when it turns out that my dream of Druidsaurus Rex dies when they spoil the rest of the set.

Spectral Knight actually got some play early in Naxx, from what I hear. The problem with that card, as with all 5-drops, was the existence of Azure Drake. However, I still think this Verdant Longneck is going to be pack filler.

Don't forget Sludge Belcher. Between that and Azure Drake, there was really no reason to run anything else in the 5 mana slot.
Come rotation, we won't even have Drake to worry about, but it remains to be seen what else pops up in the 5 mana slot.
Beast tag bumps it up to being playable. depends on what the adaptations are, at least its something new, i'm more interested in original, fun content than how "playable" everything is.
Druid's my main class and I'd love to have another viable deck other than Jade - really hoping DinoDruid is pushed by the other cards we haven't seen yet...we'll pretend the new spell didn't happen.
This feels understatted though considering how strong Volcanosauris. Coming out 2 turns earlier is a big deal but in terms of stat distribution I'm not seeing the benefit due to being a class card anywhere.

The problem is that adapt options are not equal at all.
Why do taunt cost as much as 3 attack (talking in general, not simply on this garbage card) ?
That says something about team 5 already. taunt overcosted, aggressive stats undercosted etc
In other card games you can taunt with whatever you like without paying any extra cost (MTG)

Works well with claw and moonfire
