What is ironic is the ability of the players to calculate the math for lethal in this week's brawl while at the same time being unable to get a handle on the maths presented in this and various other threads.

If you play standard and you like to craft golden card, well you get screw hard. First they introduce standard, then now this.... Really no point anymore to play with gold cards
If they keep this policy in place for Classic cards, then you wouldn't be screwed. You'd be getting golden cards for free.
Get 3200 when they move to HOF status. 0 + 3200 = 3200
Get 3200 when you DE it. 3200 + 3200 = 6400
6400 > 3200
I don't see how hard that is to comprehend.
If you start with regular rag you'd get 1600 by doing nothing. Ig you create golden rag you spend 3200. You'll get 3200 from bliz once rag rotates. Then you can de him for 1600 (not 3200). Leaving you with net positive of 1600 = same as if you'd do nothing.
if they're giving us the full dust, doesnt that imply we'd get full DE value?
Not at all! If you bother to read their post you will see it is very clearly stated in there.
I did read their post. Giving full DE value would be consistent with what they did in the past.
edit: if there is a spot specifically mentioning how they will handle DE values for these specific cards, please post it, because I'm not seeing it.

Oh yeah, consistent with what they have done is right. But it is implied no where that we'd get full DE value, it is very clear.
Where does it say they'll select golden cost over regular when awarding dust? I'm sure that's what they would do but I'd rather not craft bling'd out Ragnaros and Sylvanas and only get the non-golden's cost back.

"It's not stated specifically anywhere" is precisely the opposite of 'very clear.'

Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before destination.
If I craft regular Ragnoras after this announcement would I still get 1600 dust when the year of the mamoth goes live? so I would get a free ragnoras since I will get my dust back?
I have a golden rag and a regular rag, does that mean I only recieve 3200 dust? Also I have a regular sylv, if I craft a gold will I get 3200 and be able to disenchant it?

I was thinking the exact same thing. This thread was a great read !
Thinking about the right strategy... I have some legendaries I don't need, so enough to get at least 6400 dust to craft golden Sylvanas and Ragnaros. But is it worth to collect the missing 400 dust to craft golden versions of the other cards as well?
The very best solution if you are not planning to play wild therefore don't care about having ragnaros and sylvanas is:
Dez you useless legendaries, craft golden sylvanas and ragnaros (-6400dust), get the refund at the start of the year of the mammoth (+6400dust) then dust the golden sylvanas and ragnaros (+3200dust)
-6400+6400+3200=3200 benefice
You are back to you original position (meaning you don't own Sylvanas and ragnaros) but you netted a benefice of 3200 Dust.
If you don't have enough initial dust to craft the golden version it is less interesting : the same process with non golden cards nets you 800 dust.
The only prerequisite to do is : you don't own already regular ragnaros and sylvanas

Help me with the maths, i think this example is not in the main post:
If i have to disenchant my regular Sylvannas to craft a Golden one, and don't plan on disenchanting it, im losing 1200g, right?
If i disenchant that Golden version, how much im winning?
Sorry im trying to make my brain work but it only counts lethal (sometimes) and i need to sleep
Time to craft some goldens!! YAY! :D

if i have rag and syl and i want to craft thier golden versions will i get the dust for both?(the normal and the golden version)
No, only the dust for gold

This is confusing.

Correct. Doesn't matter when you crafted as long as you have it when the rotation will be live. So you will have a free Ragnaros.
I have a golden rag and a regular rag, does that mean I only recieve 3200 dust? Also I have a regular sylv, if I craft a gold will I get 3200 and be able to disenchant it?
There is another tactical matter:
If you have no rag and no silvanas, and you want to play them later on,
could it be better for you to craft both regular versions than to craft one golden version of rag?
because you get still 1600+1600=3200
and get to keep BOTH cards for later use.
Yes
yes, you will get only the 3200 dust for the golden one. YOu can DE them anytime you want for 400 respectively 1600 dust (for regular or golden)
If you have one of each Legendary Sylv, should you dust the regular Sylv now, since you won't get the dust after the changeover?
