telling me that i need to plan my game better vs dirty rat is pretty confusing to me... only way to play around it is to be lucky with rng or play your minion yourself before you really want to... i dont understand how this could be any type of good argument but as you said in the very end gitgud... just another troll with half a mind
It's easy to just blame your badness on "RNG", it's harder to ask yourself why you're really losing. I could tell you why your logic about this is way off, but then you wouldn't learn your lesson, y'know?
How about I play Renolock and you play any deck with double Dirty Rat first to 5 and I show you myself?
I see a lot of people saying the like the card even when it pulls their goddamn reno out... reno is not a combo card... for you people to understand picture this.. your deck is based around getting a brann/kazakus combo into maybe a fireball frost bolt for you to win... a dirty rat pulls one or the other out and you just insta lose... to a over stated 2 mana taunt card... is it stupid

What? Reno decks rely on reno to survive, just like the deck you described relies on combo cards. It's the same thing.
For every bloke that gets lucky with a Dirty Rat/Reno combo, there's another who draws out a Loot Hoarder or Deathwing, Dragonlord with a hand of dragons waiting.
The mechanic of playing the other players hand is dumb to me and i card game supposed to be competitive
how are people suppose to be able to think about their plays when it can just be ruined any moment... This sort of card just ruins the game for me... I at this point just wish i could sell my account because this game is only going downwards
You're DEFINITELY a new player if this is what you call a good argument for altering the game state, and definitely a moron. We've had Ancestor's Call in the game for the longest time.
Keep up.
Besides, Dirty Rat helps further bring to the table something we've been needing for the longest time: Anti-Battlecry cards. Also, we have Deathlord. Your only argument is "Fuck the game up for other people because I don't understand how strategy works." Cards like this were invented because of players like you, by the way. Just a note. It's meant to counter people big time. It's also meant to punish people if the play is poorly timed, and cards like this are good for the game. Threads like this? Bad, absolute garbage. Seriously.
While I most certainly agree with Dirty Rat being fine as a card and doesn't need to be changed (at all), As a mostly Shaman Player, no one uses Ancestor's Call to deny Battlecry.
Ancestor's Call is mostly a Combo piece, not a tech choice. Most times I see/use it, it's to get a Malygos out, not to deny a Reno.

To answer your post, and the "your deck is based around getting a brann/kazakus combo into maybe a fireball frost bolt for you to win"......I would say it's a CCG!!! Make a more diverse deck. Every deck I make I try to make sure it has at least A CHANCE against any meta deck.

Considering alot of players thought this card was terrible.until it was put it use.
I personally thought the card looked pretty bad despite the clear applications to destroy battlecry based combos. Properly judging cards in a vacuum is impossible. When the cards were spoiled we were deep in the midrange shamanstone meta, where dirtyrat would honestly have been pisspoor. Whether or not reno decks would be strong enough was unclear, of course hindsight is always 50/50. Most popular sources wrote boom off when it was initially spoiled, hell I still see new players that don't play wild writing him off.
It makes my day that combo decks are complaining. The card is great for the game. Now, when I can tell you are building a combo in your hand, I can do something about it. Blizzard has called this 'player interaction' and they tend to favor it. You plopping down a combo that wins the game is not interactive. Plan on more cards like Dirty Rat.

Actually, Combo decks *have* to be really interactive in order to keep themselves alive while they find the combo.
No matter how you feel about it, Frost Nova IS interacting with the board.

Its interactive for the person playing frost nova, but the other player doesn't really get to do anything but slam minions and have them removed with spells. To deny that freeze mage is a highly uninteractive deck to play against is disingenuous. The opponent is essentially just freezing and removing all your minions, effectively locking you out of playing the game. Straight from the designers mouths "Fighting for board control and battles between minions make an overall game of Hearthstone more fun and compelling, but taking 20+ damage in one turn is not particularly fun or interactive." I know its a meme at this point but its still true. I wouldn't be surprised to see either Alexstrasza or Ice Block rotated to wild, as blizzard have taken a pretty hardlined approach when it comes to nerfing uninteractive combo decks

And I love Dirty Rat. Great card imo.
^ I would just like to say that this guy is very correct.
I don't agree with your argument and your tones are foul... get some manners
all this card is doing is destroying combo decks based on minions without any way to "counter play" it is an instant lose card and i don't believe no 2 mana card should be an instant lose... obviously he can pull something big out, but who plays anything big in a meta this aggressive? it is just not a viable "counter play"
so as i see it either play curve or play a grinder control type deck without many if any big minions in your deck and i don't believe this is a healthy state of the game to make combo unplayable which is what a dirty rat does...
So because of strong 1 drops and increase in the popularity of aggro in the meta, dirty rat is now broken? If the meta is more midrange then dirty rat becomes increasingly worse. A card effect like dirty rat comes with its downsides and risks. Just because the current state of the game increases the effectiveness of a card, doesn't make it broken. Dirty Rat can lead to instant wins, as well as instant losses.
Let's see... Magic The Gathering CCG have been around for more than 20 years. A game where you can discard (not put into play) cards from your opponent's hand, and a game where you can destroy an opponents ressources (mana crystals).. So 20+ years of succes is dumb game mechanics?
Actually, land destruction was determined to be unfun and mostly removed. And few cards allow you to pick which cards your opponent discards. Those that do cost large amounts of mana, upwards of 7. That's minimum turn 15 at Hearthstone speed.
Furthermore, it's far less meaningful in Magic because you can have 4 copies of every card in your deck, barring very special circumstances.
Love the card tbh, even when my reno gets ratted out

Hearthstone is a game of "copy and pasting"
Dirty Rat can destroy combo decks.
Reno can destroy aggro.
Jade Idol can destroy control.
So are you saying there shouldn't be cards that counter certain decks and let everydeck to execute its game plan without interuption.
For every bloke that gets lucky with a Dirty Rat/Reno combo, there's another who draws out a Loot Hoarder or Deathwing, Dragonlord with a hand of dragons waiting.
That rogue was NOT prepared.
We need more of these kinds of cards very good lol
You can also use the rat on turn 2. Especially against pirate warriors....
Is this where the THREE TIME LEGEND PLAYERS come to mourn like a noobs?

Free to try and find a game, dealing cards for sorrow, cards for pain.
