so if i put Fight Promoter in a grimy goons deck , and buff it in my hand to a 6/6 or more will it trigger off of itself and draw me 2 cards since i technically control a minion with 6 health ?
Yes, Ben Brode essentially confirmed it on twitter and it would make sense considering the way battlecries work. The minion is summoned and then the battlecry triggers, which is why Yogg-Saron can be affected by his battlecry. So if you play Fight Promoter and it has 6 or more health, the minion would be summoned, and the battlecry would then trigger and because Fight Promoter has 6 or more health, the two cards would be drawn.
Battlecries usually trigger before the minion is actually on the board. So it should be a no but we can never know.
PS: I'm not sure
This is only true with battlecries that summons other minions such as Dr. Boom: It first summon the Boombots and then the main body.
yeah, also with the battlecries that deal dmg, ex: fire elemental deals 3 dmg to a mad scientist, mad scientist dies and put mirror entity into play, mirror entity activates immediatly copying the fire elemental, so technacially the battlecry activated before the fire elementall came into play , it killed the scientist, brought the secret, and then the body was summoned and got copied

Battlecries occur after the minion enters play, and after 'whenever you play'

Yogg is a special case. Most minions trigger the battlecry before they enter the field. Take Eater of Secrets for example. Its battlecry triggers and destroys a mirror entity secret before entering the field. If it didn't, the secret would copy the minion before the secret gets destroyed.

No, there is not a single battlecry in this game that triggers before the minion enters the board. Yogg is not a special case at all. Reported for misinformation.
The secret always triggers after the battlecry phase, it would NEVER copy eater of secret, no matter if it came into play before or after its battlecry.
This very thread, the fact that Fight promoter triggers off of itself is a proof that you're wrong so don't even try to come up with silly arguments based on your imagination.
the way you necro'ed a Nov 27 thread starting with "Not true" followed by a bunch of misinformation, I'd rather keep quiet and hope the thread will sink down again...
There was really no reason to post in this old thread. It is outdated and i don't think it is uncommon for people to know how fight promoter works by now. I am going to lock this because the question was answered and there is simply no need for the aggression displayed in this thread.
Locked.

Yes, thats why it's a playable card
AJAX AMSTERDAM
Yogg is on the board before the battlecry, so it should trigger if it has 6+ health
Hah, then it's a lot better than I thought it is.
Sorry, but face is NOT place :P
My Awesome Decks
Wait, it does? That means it could actually be playable.
Fuck cubelock
Yep. Fight Promoter seems aimed at Druid and Grimy Goon decks, and I'm interested in seeing just how good it can be.
Would then he be promoting himself? These 21 Century independent artists have it difficult :/

Yes and it sure will be playable. Its an awesome card.
Not true. Eater of Secrets battlecry triggers before the body is actually on board. If it didn't it would get copied by a mirror entity secret.

I stand corrected. I may be an idiot haha
