Actually its because, as some dedicated users here nicely pointed out, it doesn't do CRAP. Its the equivalent of playing Troggzor. You expect your opponent to play into it like an idiot, but you gotta remember that only bots are that dumb :P
It IS a great card with a lot of potential in the right meta. Just so happens, not THIS meta.
I disagree. It requires luck or setup to get value. It must get damaged yet not destroyed and have an ability/opportunity to heal it. Even if successful the reward is a 2/2 vanilla that isn't a terrible threat either.

thats not true at all. a lot of big streamers played it recently. i crafted it at start of MSoG and it was really successful, especially in wild. theyissue with it now is that priest doesnt need 4x 2-drop minions in a deck and radiant elemental is just better. being able to play pw:s or potion of madness for free on turn 2 while developing your own minion is just too much value. that doesnt make geode bad, just that they gave us a better 2-drop in the next expansion after we were begging for a good 2-drop for years.

Then why wasn't it played before Radiant Elemental was released either? Its because it takes too much set up to get the stars to align on this. Priest needs 2 drops that can affect the board or your hand, not itself (Wyrmrest Agent, Radiant Elemental)

because dragon priest already had 2 drops and dragon and reno were the only archetypes. and it DID see play in reno priest, Kibler ran it for awhile in his deck. its a good card in wild because of velens chosen so u have 2 follow up plays with talonpriest as well. just because it hasnt fit current meta decks doesnt mean its terrible. lots of times i have gotten value off geode or had people use premium removal on it. if you coin it out and opponent doesnt have frostbolt, lightning bolt, wrath or win axe its just huge. turn 2 you have a 2/3 and a 2/2 if your opponent played a 1 drop. its not op as fuck like most 2 drops that see/saw play, but its still a good card.
Start of Year: Provoke the failure of 3 expansions, force nerfs on otherwise balanced cards, bring deckbuilding to an all-time low and get rotated one year earlier for being such a threat to the game's health. - Genn and Baku's historical entry on the White Book of Shit Design, shortly before retiring unpunished
I still run one copy with Radiant Elemental as well. Saves me from having to drop Radiant Elemental when I don't have anything to play with it. Playing it on T1 is really strong, and if anything, you force your opponent to use premium removal to remove it, which again, saves your Radiant Elemental.
I mean before either of these cards were introduced, priest would usually HP and end turn anyway. Now we can at least clear a possible minion and gain another body to trade with. It's not game changing/meta defining, but it doesn't need to be.
I don't think so. It is simply not good enough for constructed (although I like it in Arena). And besides, Elemental priest (which is the only deck that could make use of the new tribe on mana geode) could be a thing already. If it were good enough.
It's not good enough because Radiant Elemental is the 2-drop Ele and you usually save that for a Lyra turn. With Mana Geode as another option, it definitely opens up some possibilities.

Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before destination.
Not sure why everyone is gushing over this one. Had it said "ANY minion" rather than "THIS minion" I'd agree. That way it could be triggered same turn it is played. As it stands, in order to get more than vanilla value, it must survive a turn AND be in a situation to trade into a 1 or 2 attack enemy (or get damaged in another manner). The likelihood of that is just too far between to justify playing. In order to make it into a constructed list there needs to be some level of consistency. If everyone played off potential then most decks would have Mind Control Tech, Eater of Secrets, and Blood Knight.
Image if Northshire Cleric said this minion instead of any minion. It's the difference between great and unplayable.

No, it's not.
Normally I wouldn't bump, but since this thread is already on the front page I figure I'd use the opportunity to gloat.
I swear this forum is the 9th circuit of card assessments.

Yeah, some people are just bad at card assessments. I went back and read a few of the earlier pages, I even posted there myself. A lot of hype for a bad card was had here.

*New priest card on forums*
"What?! So early?!"
*Turns out it is just an old thread*

I didn't see this mentioned anywhere but on reddit, Ben Brode said Mana Geode will have the Elemental tribe in an upcoming patch.

Potentially enough of a buff to make it see play?
