I'm waiting to see more cards but right now Medivh looks playable to bad to me. I don't see any deck that would use him, maybe Reno Mage or Warlock but other than that the card is just too slow and requires too many things to get some value.

It's slow but if you notice with card like this and Melachazzr (sp?) they're giving classes a way to fill up their hand/deck. This might allow classes to go much more 'full' control and then fill up with finishers in other ways.

Do you see Summoning Stone played? Medivh is a fun card but will not be played in competitive is what I meant. At least it's what I think. I don't think any class even in a control match up has the luxury to keep spells in hand just to get some random minions later.
This feels like a Rafaam-level card to me: very powerful, but too slow to be a go-to in constructed.
But starting your turn with Atiesh equipped seems like a guaranteed win, so Medivh might be good enough. 8 mana does leave room to Frost Bolt your opponent's biggest threat, make a random 2-mana minion, and stay alive for a turn. Or any class can drop a Sunfury Protector.
The downside is that Atiesh can be Oozed or displayed in a nice museum, but that never stopped anyone from playing Doomhammer. Your opponent still has to deal with the 7/7.
Rafaam + Medivh -> 2 card endgame: play Rafaam, get 10 cost Artifact spell, play Medivh, play 10 cost Artifact + get a 10 cost minion.
Fits in every deck
Rafaam is a big tempo loss , medivh too .. this could work against a priest or a control warrior (if they dont clear your board) .. i think mediv is perfect for tempo/value mage
I Think this card is overrated. Could be good in most heavy spell Yogg decks, but not as good as people think. Its too slow/ And even if Medivh will become popular, every single deck will run oozes and harrison jones and then Medivh will sucks. On average Ragnaros is better.

Just this + Frostbolt or any cheap spell is pretty ok, if you play this card in spell-heavy deck, you don't need to wait for combo. Problem with Summoning stone was 0/6 body, that easly gets free traded or removed, 7/7 still does something and it's guaranteed value if the weapon is not removed, but even Harrison Jones is not run that often now.
It's very good. By turn 8 if you are a weapon class your opponent has already used their weapon removal, and if you aren't then they already played it as a tempo play. So the staff will mostly be safe.
I think this guy is like a slightly worse Ysera. In both situations you play a body that your opponent has to answer. (Ysera will give you more cards, this guy is a 7/7 and they can't just leave a 7/7 up). Ant then you start getting value out of it the next turn.
Summoning Stone decks were played for a while after LoE came out, and in the situations where the stone survived, you would often get a blowout victory. The staff has the ability to do the same thing, and it's much harder to destroy than the stone is.
I think this will not be a staple in any deck, but it will be a filler end game legendary that control decks will play every now and then.

THAT BELONGS TO THE MUSEUM!
I like it! :) Looks fun to try out at least.
Nice legendary, that forces enemy deal both with 7/7 body and very dangerous weapon next turn.
Kinda slow in current meta, but still nice.
3/3 - Heroic dungeons
9/9 - Golden Heroes
540 - Total level

Well, time to finally craft Harrison....I mean, now that there's a neutral weapon.
also, the things this will do in arena..crazy
I tried having fun once. It was awful.
because they're just gonna let you play that and not just zerg you down before you even get to play Rafaam

Should have been a 6 mana 20/20 with Battlecry: Kill your opponent irl

I'm a new player and had some fun already with Summoning Stone.
Fun fact: just yesterday I got Harrison Jones as my 2nd legendary overall (after The Boogeymonster, so this may be consolation of sort)
Could fit a tempo mage as a late game card..
Or maybe priest?
12 wins in ArenA with: Mage and Paladin, first time legend with Rogue
I love this card, it fit very well in priest because it is a class with lot of costly spells.
But I think it is almost useless against aggro, 8 mana for a 7/7 body is too slow.
