I feel like this card is to weak... No one is going to play that card, at least not in the competitive field. His ability is kind of useless because usually minion are immediately kill, you rarely set up a plan to kill a minion in 2 or 3 turns, particularly a 4 health minion. Yes it can be buff, but it become too much vulnerable from being silence. And 1 attack is just so weak for a 3 mana cost minion... At best it is going to kill a 3/1, gambling it wont get kill be the opponent hero power afterward...
I feel it should be a 2/4. What do you guys think?
This cards also can bring back the Inner Fire Meta.
With a simple combo you got an 8/8 or 12/12 that regenerates each turn. This is great against decks focussing on survival till they bring out Rangnaros. Or you taunt and buff HP. This can be quiet annoying to pull of 1 shot combos.
Maybe in casual games this could be fun. But, I am doubtful this can really be viable. Alone Stoneskin Gargoyle is bad 3 drop and they are better late game strategy than this.
For it's utility, I think the stats are fine. This is probably a decent zoo minion. If it can be buffed by defender of argus in turn 4 then it will be pretty annoying to deal with. Could draw out a silence which is fine because it still leaves you with a decent 1/4 body. I think in general that taunt in early game is the best buff you can give this guy and that's how I picture it getting utilized best.
Here again am very doubtful. There are already many minions that are more suitable for zoo decks, I don't think there is any room for him.
Priest already has many excellent 3 drops. People are already debating if they should remove the injured blademaster for dark cultist. I don't think there is any room for the Gargoyle in priest deck.

Sorry dude but thats wrong! "For it's utility, I think the stats are fine": Normal stats are manacost x2 +1 -x due to an effect (taunt is -1 or charge -2 for example, see Sen'jin Shieldmasta or Mogu'shan Warden, Stormwind Knight). So a 1/4 for 3 is really bad because the heal would be X=-2! For higher mana cost minions with more hp it could be fine i guess but you usually cant benefit from it because 1 damage cant trade with most minions.
"This is probably a decent zoo minion": First of all, there are way better 3 drops out there (i.e. Harvest Golem, Scarlet Crusader) and secondly: Zoo is NOT about putting low attack minions in your deck but about maintaining boardcontrol. A 1 attack minion will not help you with that! You could argue with buffing it up with an Abusive Sergeant for example but since its a 3 drop, your opponent has minions with 4 or more hp on the board in round 4 (round 3 gargoyle, round 4 buff it up), so why waste a buff on the 1 attack minion when you can buff a 3 damage one to 5 to kill the yeti?
"If it can be buffed by defender of argus in turn 4 then it will be pretty annoying to deal with": This is the only statement I can agree on because 5 health is always hard to deal with. But thats it! You would rely on 2 other cards which would make it a bit viable. A yeti + hero power would still kill it btw.
"Could draw out a silence": I would NEVER waste a silence on a 1damage minion which has no impact on the board with his effect. If you somehow pimp it with Inner Fire or something the silence would be great because you invested more than me.
"...it still leaves you with a decent 1/4 body": 1/4 is far from being decent and can be ignored.
"taunt in early game is the best buff you can give this guy": Yep but why waste a card slot for him when taunt is way better on a watcher for 2 mana for example?
Give Stoneskin Gargoyle 2 attack and it would be pretty good. 1 attack is just plain useless :(
100% correct. Not every card will be useful sadly. See Magma Rager. Will there be any use for this in the meta? No...Arena, maybe. I think the most often time we will see this pop up is in some kind of Man Mode exhibition. The only exception I make on this is maybe paladin, but again there are way better 3 drops.
I'd rather drop a taunt buff (or generally any buff) on the Echoing Ooze, because two buffed bodys trumps one, nevermind dropping an argus on the ooze, and another creature to have 3 taunted units at the end of your turn. Another example would be playing Ooze with Druid, and dropping a Mark of the Wild, giving you two 3/4 taunt minions on turn 2, because of our lovely Innervate. I see the Ooze, being a much stronger play versus the gargoyle. Either way, Ooze or Gargoyle, to have a good effect, you need to buff it. I just imagine the gargoyle to be a very weak play for his stats, a single 1/4 for 3 mana, or two 1/2 (2/4) creatures for 2 mana. Although, I Suppose Haunted Creeper provides 3 damage, but drawn out over multiple turns XD oh well, back to my original point.. Ooze+buff>Gargoyle+buff IMO

if you haven't noticed a fair amount of the Naxx set has what I refer to as investment cards. They only shine when you invest something else on them. This ideology is frowned upon in hearthstone due to giving up hand advantage and over extending. There are arguments to be made on both accounts. Long as your enjoying playing it and are getting success with it then nothing any one should say should ever matter. And your right the Ooze is 10x better then the gargoyle.

Well, Ooze cumulative stats are also slightly overbudget, so unlike stoneskin, you can still play it on its own. Imho it will be decent in every deck that runs any kind of buff. Stoneskin will be incredibly gimmicky, no matter how you use it.
you all through around these budget terms and fail to recognize the rarity of the card...ITS A FREAKING EPIC ITS MEANT TO BE OVERBALANCED....Though still scratching my head over Maexxna and Shade of Naxxramas
3 drop for only a 1/4 is pretty lame - considered adding him to my zoo deck, however, like one of the other posts said, there are just many other awesome 3 drops that are irreplaceable

I disagree, you can look at cards like Shadowform , Kidnapper , Farsight , Twisting Nether. These are all epics, and hardly played. The only thing relevant to the fact that Echoing Ooze is an epic card, is you can have two in a deck, and the fact that it will cost 1600 dust to craft the golden version. Defeating boss "X" will grant you with two Oozes, and it's Soulbound. If your purchasing the expansion, you might as well just classify the Naxx cards as basic cards, with very high dust requirements for the gold cards. Even Maex, who hasn't earned it already? It's basically like getting a hero to level 10 (defeating all the wings) to receive all the basic cards (Naxx cards) before buying decks and what not to get better cards (golden Naxx cards).
I only write this because if your getting all the Wings, there's really no differerence in the rarity of the cards, and therefore the rarity of Naxx card X (Stoneskin Gargoyle), versus the rarity of Naxx card Y (Echoing Ooze), is irrelevant.

I think it is a weak card. I think the toughest part is that it heals at the beginning of your turn. If it did so at the end it would have utility, but as it is I think it's just not going to do a whole lot except die.

I dont get why Stoneskin Gargoyle is a 3 drop when Nerub'ar Weblord only cost 2. Maybe as a 1/5 it would be decent.
yeah never got that either, I guess team 5 thinks a craptacular heal has more value then a limited effect mana debuff.
3 drop for only a 1/4 is pretty lame - considered adding him to my zoo deck, however, like one of the other posts said, there are just many other awesome 3 drops that are irreplaceable
This is a signature.
Definitely overpriced at 3 mana - needs a buff to 'at the end of your turn' at the very least.
I really want this card to work, but I just don't see that happening without having to heavily invest into buffing it.
The card is to weak, I doubt it will see much play, except in "fun" decks. It should have been 2 mana.
