This is an a lot of value for two mana. Haunted Creeper will be a pretty decent pick in arena but it might be a little too slow to see constructed play.
This card doesn't fit in very many decks in the current meta, it could find a place in Token Druid but other than that I do not see it being very viable in any other deck that's popular right now. That said it could enable an aggro shaman deck or Hunter Rattle or something else entirely.
In arena though this card is pretty bad as the card takes two turns in order to deal with a simple 3/2 2 drop like Bloodfen Raptor.
Oh that's really weird. Was hoping for a good beast synergy.
It looks like the question was "will these 1/1s be immune to spells and hero powers" not "are these 1/1s beasts."
If you asked me if the River Crocolisk was a vanilla 2/3 or if it would have an enrage ability like the Amani Berserker - I would definitely say it was vanilla (even tough it has the 'beast' tag).

Look higher up on that link, Ben Brode says "The Spectral Spiders summoned by the Haunted Creeper are not Beasts. If we had a "ghost" race, they'd be ghosts. :)"
This is definitely going in Hunter decks. Hopefully Hunter will be back on the rise after getting these new cards. I have missed seeing it on ladder.....that is, without all the doggies.

I think this card might be undervalued by some. To start, there's a total of 3 power and 4 toughness for only 2 mana spread across a total of 3 targets. However you wanna look at it, you're likely to win out with some card advantage due to these pesky spiders. Primarily, let's look at where they belong.... the dreaded Zoo. How many cards share some synergy with these guys?
Modify the Zoo deck to include more Deathrattle effects to make Baron Rivendare worth including and this 1/2 becomes a one man army. At the very least, Haunted Creeper deserves some play-testing.
The Haunted Creeper has just been announced!
I feel like this would mostly be useless unless you have Tundra Rhino to give it some good combos. It also works very well with Baron Rivendare
Hmm- will the 4/4 nerubian from the egg be a beast? There's some interesting anti-aoe things happing with hunters these days...

Nerubians in WoW were considered undead humanoids, if memory serves.
I don't think they'd be classed as beasts.
I'm curious if the "spectral" part of their name is just for flavor, or if it indicates a "cannot be targeted by spells or hero powers" effect.
Nano-Savanna Highmane as we always wanted for Hunter. Perfect!
Looks like Rogue & Warrior are going to be the anti-rush hunter decks.
Nice. T2 Haunted Creeper into T3 Buzzard + suicide = 2 card draws + 2 tokens.
Sorry, the Spectral Spiders aren't Beasts...

Check out my Twitch stream! I play Hearthstone horribly on a regular basis. http://www.twitch.tv/manostehgreat
Ah, thank you - I had missed that part.

Knife Juggler
Dire Wolf Alpha
Abusive Sergeant
Defender of Argus
Dark Iron Dwarf

Haunted Creeper is pretty good in Shockadin.
I think this card is pretty ok in Zoo.
