Nice card. Will fill a similar role as Sunwalker, but does it at 5 mana, instead of 6. Round 5 being a much more optimal to try to slow your opponent, as round 6 can be too late against some decks.
Literally Sen'jin Shieldmasta plus Goldshire Footman in one card. Amazing though, I had a deck I used Fen Creeper in (I know, right? But I still found it useful.) and this is going in its place for sure.
Pretty good card, it is Sen'jin + Goldshire, Druid of the Claw outclasses it but isn't neutral, it will mostly fight against Abomination for this slot (Abomination has board clear but only absorbs one attack and can hurt you). Gonna be a nice and high end Arena rare, though.
Its stats are effectively 2.43 attack and 7 health for 5 mana, which doesn't pass the vanilla test (Sen'jin does with 3/5 for 4). The only real benefit is against The Black Knight, Shadow Word: Pain, and other destroy effects. Meta-specific and not that amazing.
5 mana continues to be a weak spot in terms of stats for Neutral (no 5 mana 5/6 or neutral Bear Form), which means Loatheb, and possibly even Feugen, might be quite playable.
This will be used by mid range deathrattle decks, but otherwise it's pretty ok. I'd rather run loatheb or spectral knight and have 2 sen'jin shieldmastas instead.

Where did you get 2.43 attack from?
If we think of it as a 7 health minion, it has 3 attack for the first 5 heath, and 1 attack for the last 2 health. That's 2.43 on average.
The actual mileage depends on how the trades occur, e.g. in worst case vs Zoo the first iteration might be traded by a 3/2 buffed by +2 attack (Dark Iron Dwarf or Abusive Sergeant), and another 3/2 can kill the 1/2 mostly for free.
Better version of Fen Creeper in arena, which is probably why it is a rare instead of common. Yet in constructed it is basically a Sen'jin Shieldmasta for one more mana and synergy with the other Naxx cards. As the deathrattle will have far more of an impact in arena than in constructed.
Was thinking about it and this might have some interesting anti-Miracle use in Constructed: If they use Deadly Poison + Assassin's Blade or whatever to kill this, you get a 1/2 that blocks a Leeroy. :) Too bad it is still vulnearable to Sap...
I do not think this card gets run over Shieldmasta in constructed, or arena. I'd pick it over a Fen Creeper in arena, but given the choice of shieldmasta and this guy, I would pick shieldmasta 100% of the time.
If shieldmasta didn't exist I think he would have a role to play, but even in a deathrattle deck his effect is too minor to be worthwhile.

The point is this card has 2 taunts in it, thus will absorbed a guaranteed 2-3 attack instances. Removing the 3/5 taunt may be easy but the 1/2 (out of all hero powers range) that follow will be a pain in the ass. Sometimes, the opponent has no way to deal with it and has to commit over damage to finish it off which may result in them not having lethal this turn.
Edit: A better example would be, Mage having 2 8/8 on the board and you have 5 hp. If you play DotC, it's lethal. If you play Sludge Belcher and Mage has no way to deal with the 1/2, you live for another turn.
It's not a question of Sen'jin Shieldmasta over Sludge Blecher tho' because each card fits a seperate curve, I've been playing Sludge Belcher in the Sunwalker slot in Handlock and think Sludge Belcher is an improvement over Sunwalker because they have roughly the same survivability but Sludge Belcher is a turn faster and clears the 6 drop curve for Siphon Soul.

Blizzard has announced the Sludge Belcher
Great in arena, potential as a 5 drop replacement for Taz'dingo if you need 5 drops over 4 drops. Just a solid card.

It's a better stall card than Fen Creeper, but I'm not convinced it's a better trade card.
That said, nothing wrong with a bit extra Leeroy protection.
Good for slowing down rushing decks
May work well in Shaman deck with Flametounge totem synergy.
Very good for anti-aggro. And pretty good in Arena I think. Also will bait out silences/hexes/polys very well.
Nice one
the synergy with flametongue totem is SO good
I was thinking it would be great with ancestral spirit
