I used to play a lot of Midrange Paladin before Secret Paladin was a thing. I would love to get back into Paladin decks. Anyone having success with non-c'thun midrange or controlish decks? Is the new Ragnaros, Lightlord legendary worth crafting (I have over 4k dust).
I got lucky and opened a golden version, so immediately made a non c'thun deck with him. I won all 4 games, so im enjoying him so far. in all but 1 scenario, his heal helped alot. he even survived a c'thun attack.
There's a Control Healadin list somewhere on here that's pretty good. Obviously not sure of its actual viability in Standard but if you already have the other necessary things (Tirion, Sylvanas, whatever else) then yeah it's a pretty worthwhile craft. I got lucky enough to pull him and he's done pretty well so if he's the only thing you're missing from a deck I'd go for it.
Yes. The only problem is that the 8 mana slot is pretty crowded between Tirion, Ragnaros and Lay on Hands, but the latter could be replaced with another draw engine (like Solemn Vigil).
I'm actually running the deck you can see in my signature, wich is a Control/N'zoth Paladin. Ragnaros, Lightlord is such a huge card: right now, is very hard for the opponent to deal with him, especially since he can heal himself after attacking, so if you want to play that kind of deck, he's a safe bet.
The deck is working good for me, both against aggro and C'thun based decks, the heals are just insane and the board clears effective. The most important part is the transition to mid/late game, if you manage to use well your resources then there is no chance for the opponent to win.

a control paladin is going to be a thing, and a strong thing, since this card can actively attack(then heal for up to 8) i think it's very good.
Of all the things I've lost in life, I think I'll miss my mind the most.
For Pally control, its a must!

The end is coming!
Yep, it's pretty decent in a control deck. Also running a N'Zoth list and enjoying the deck so far.
