Next turn: Shadowcaster -> Malygos -> some spells, gg
Also, 1-mana cards are pretty good at enabling combo.
This is a really good card, but I sincerely doubt it will ever make an appearance in Maly rogue. If you ever get Malygos to stick on the board, you've already won in, I wanna say, at least 90% of the cases. Too many things also have to go exactly right for it to even be possible.
The real strength of this card is the combo potential i m o.
I feel like this card is good, but risky. If your opponent keeps you off of board position, you're in the awkward position of having a 5 mana 4/4 with no effect. It's definitely powerful enough to be viable, but I think Rogue may have to increase its usual amount of threat density a little to make this guy worth the risk.

Combo with what? Any ideas? I was thinking as a one of in a Deathrattle deck for getting the extra value without hurting N'Zoth's summon possibilities
I'm not sure, I don't think it fits all that well in any current deck without tweaking. It would be very good in a deathrattle deck in wild, in standard I'm not so sure a deathrattle deck is all that good. Losing egg, creeper and shredder is going to hurt that deck a lot.
In any case it's very good value with a lot of standard rogue inclusions like azure drake, SI-7, thalnos, van cleef etc. I'm sure it will find its place in some deck, even if I can't think of a perfect fit off the top of my head. I do however think it'll always be a one-of since it's both fairly situational and anti-tempo.
Honestly thought this card would be a Legendary, judging by its art.

If you look closely, you can see this is a signature and not a comment. Why are you reading? Stop reading this. Did you read this too? Dang you must like reading.
I don't get why people are trying to set this up with Maly? When you drop Maly you want to deal lethal damage or burst and leave your opponent on lethal range next turn with or without Maly. Comboing this with Malygos takes too much to set up. Dont get me wrong it is fun but you'll be spending a lot of resources trying to make it happen. Setting up Maly to burst with spells is way easier.
So Deathrattle Rogue everywhere after this Expansion, THIS is the Keeper of Uldaman of Rogue, even if you get a 1/1 Si:7, or a 1/1 Unearthed Raptor the value the Battlecry/Deathrattle of these Copys will give is worth way more than 1 Mana.
Keeper of Uldaman is more flexible and proactive. This is a reactive card + I dont get immediate board value with this.

whawhat?! You need a vanilla 9 drop to live a turn and then play this for your "combo" to happen and then wait another turn until your 30/30 is able to attack ... I don't get the exitement, at all. This card is just bad, I am pretty sure about that! Any card in hearthstone that requires you to have other expensive cards already on the board has historically been unplayable if it is not well stated by itself and this is not, not even slightly!
Difficult to evaluate the card without seeing the cards that it could synergize well with in the set, however I'm going to say that its ability is strong and works well with BOTH battlecry and deathrattle cards, unlike Herald Volazj, but I couldn't tell you if it's worth the pay off of not having a strong deathrattle minion in play vs a strong battlecry minion in hand, we'll see.

Except it doesn't require other expensive cards to be on the board. "Ancient one-rogue" will obviously never be a thing, for obvious reasons. However there are a bunch of minions in a rogue deck you would want to use this on and since rogue benefits heavily off of combo, it's hard to imagine this will not find a place in rogue.
I am constantly amazed that anyone hates Mill Rogue.
You rarely get paired against Mill Rogue. 1 game in 50 is probably overstating it.
Most decks have a high win rate against Mill Rogue. Enjoy your win. The only decks weak to it are control decks which can hardly complain about someone else dragging a game out!
Against Mill, you always have a full range of options in hand. Just make the correct choices and you should win.
Due to its rarity on ladder, Mill presents an interesting and different challenge to the standard metagame decks.
Is it really so much more annoying to lose your board to a 6 mana Vanish (with a full grip) than a 6 mana Lightbomb?
In any case, while Shadowcaster is a marvellous addition to Mill Rogue, what the deck truly needs is a replacement for Deathlord. Mill will struggle without the board control which he provides in the early game. Shadowcaster may boost the turbo-mill concept but control-mill looks like it will be weaker in standard without Deathlord (and Zombie Chow, in my Mill build). Dancing Swords is also leaving Standard so I have my concerns despite the release of Shadowcaster.

In all seriousness, probably the worst card in the set so far. Rogues getting pretty screwed this expansion FeelsBadMan

This card has so many possibilities! Malyrogue, Ancient One Rogue, who knows?

1 MANA WISP ! That's a card!
But think about 1 mana VanCleef or Anub'arak . It's amazing!
