If you are playing a control deck that intends to be alive on turn 10, and many turns after nzoth is very powerful. Its one card that adds a ton of value to your deck. The reason varian didnt see play is because drawing alot of cards in a match up where a 10 drop is relevant is bad, because they're usually going to fatigue anyway. Adding a ton of big deathrattles to the board without drawin any cards is a very powerful effect in value matchups. Besides, would you run two tirions if you could? Hell yeah. Would you pay 2 more mana for a 5/7? Definitley. Nzoth definitley has a place in some heavier control decks, if its a control warrior mirror, or control warrior vs priest or some other really grindy matchup, and one player has nzoth and the other doesnt, they are very likely outvaluing there oppenent
The reason I think the effect is so strong is because N'Zoth the Corruptor generates cards out of thin air (similar to Ysera) but also PLAYS them for you which is a huge deal. Another aspect is that you get to choose which cards he summons by simply building the deck. Furthermore, even if the opponent clears the board (brawl/twisting nether/etc.), the deathrattle minions will leave something behind. So only the warrior class can deal with this card effectively by brawling twice. No matter how you look at it, this card WILL give you value instantly and can win you the game. This is exactly what I expect when I pay 10 mana for a card.
Now you can argue that the deathrattle minions may not be viable or the meta is too fast but the concept of this card is objectively strong I think.
Little known fact. Some cards like spells don't give two sh*ts about taunt.
Also if you spent 10 mana for N'Zoth you most likely didn't exactly clear your opponents board, so he is likely to have a minion or two as well, silence, anything...
Control decks hardly run silence, in fact most decks don't except aggro decks.
I can't figure out if it's just some internal joke from Twitch or here on Hearthpwn about N'Zoth... do people really think it's a good card?
Edit: It seems people aren't joking so I changed thread name to "Opinion on N'zoth"
Have you played HS in last idk.. week, month or a year? Small mistake or one card disadvantage at turn idk 5 will cost you the game, and you intend to have a dead card in hand to turn 10 just to skip it to play N'Zoth? I think N'Zoth will be completely useless and instant loss. The only place where it might see some play might be some Tavern Brawl imo
i play control warrior, garrosh can sit in my hand the whole game.
This is a silly deck idea, dunno if it was covered yet... But Explorer's Hat turns your non deathrattle minions into deathrattle effects which is the requirement for N'Zoth's effect. Even without the hat, deathrattle hunter may have some future if there are similar cards to the recently revealed 3 mana 4/2 that buffs deathrattle in hand. It may just lead to novelty decks like Lock N Load did, we'll have to see what else is getting released.

This was covered and explained multiple times, but only cards with Deathrattle printed on them count. A silenced Sylvanas will return, but a Hat-ed Huffer won't.
After opening 35 packs with no legendaries I crafted this guy. I've played about 8 games and dropped him in 4 of them. Only once did I not get an instant concede. The person followed it up with a C'thun drop that cleared out a large chunk of my board. I than used Shadowcaster to get a 1/1 N'thoth, Shadow Strike on my Sylvanas, and stole his beefy 15/15 C'thun. :)
So, are the revived minions selected randomly or sequentially? About to craft N'Zoth and would like to know. Searched for the word "random" in this thread but came up empty on a definitive reply.

Unfortunately, they are random.

I play him in Rogue, and this guy with Shadowcaster is hilarious. Living long enough to play him is an issue, but if you can get to the end game, he is an unbelievably strong late play.
Only lost against aggro shaman with mega starting hand (tends to be 50/50 matchup) and a couple of priest matchups where they entombed sylv and tirion. Other than that it's been awesome

Actually, that's a bit of a relief, considering that you tend to play the weaker, cheaper minions first.

In my opinion, N'Zoth the Corruptor has the potential to have the most powerful effect printed to this date. The cards that are in the same tier are Dr. Boom/Tirion Fordring/Ysera.

My opinion is that I plan on playing a ton of this deck (he's really good).

Does anyone know if Golden N'zoth resses golden versions of cards, even though it was non-golden that died?

running this right now, works out fine so far...
Running this at the moment, doesn't seem to have any terrible matchups.

necroing, i wonder how does the guy who diss n'zoth feels now.....
Any recommendation for death rattle rogue combo with N'Zoth, the Corruptor.
the deck is pretty standard with brann, shadowcaster, some run defender of argus and your army of death rattle minions like cairne and sylvannas.....
oh and raptors....
