I was playing my demon deck against Emperor Thaurissan and Moira Bronzebeard and had Mal'Ganis on the board. Moira attacked him. He did not have taunt. She died leaving the hero power available to hit me for 30. Supposed to happen?

There are 3 kinds of people in the world. Those that can count and those that can't.
i haven't yet played BRM yet but this is my thought process. AI has her attack no matter what, but will never attack a minion unless it has taunt. You don't want to play taunts so she'll go face each turn. With Mal'Ganis out your hero can not be targeted for an attack. If the AI believes he's a taunter cause you can't be targeted, or just the fact that she is programed to attack something regardless then attacking it its only option. Again pure speculation here
attacked Mal with other characters first so he was at one life when she attacked
The AI probably saw that your hero couldn't be targeted (that's what happens when you go immune), so had to take care of Mal'Ganis regardless of if he had taunt or not.
The same thing happened to me. I guess it makes sense that the programming of the AI forces her to attack something, anything. But I feel like this is wrong. Her wording says she doesn't attack minions that don't have taunt. Luckily I won anyway...twice in a row. The trick being...
I remember people losing to the Four Horsemen due Runeblade description indicated "Has +6 Attack if the other Horsemen are dead" and they decided to return the last one into opponent's hand. Moira's description doesn't specify if she must be on the field to prevent the hero power from activating (though as we know, unless the game specifics "on your hand" it means on the field by default.)

She can't kill Mal, so you stay immune, eh?

Either way, if you had Mal'Ganis, the 30 damage should have not been a problem.

getting lucky and drawing a Voidcaller that draws down Mal'Ganis early, but not too early. Gotta get those Molten Giants down too. Next, draw both Ironbeak Owls to get through those Abominations. Finally get one of your Crazed Alchemists so Moira Bronzebeard doesn't die too easily and deals less damage each turn.
Best arena run: 12-1. Highest rank: 7. Favorite class: Warlock. Favorite combo card: Hobgoblin. Favorite animation: Twisting Nether. Favorite 3/2 minion: Wild Pyromancer. Favorite dragon: Ysera.
I'd call it a bug. It goes against her card text.
