Big Priest is just too much polarizing: each match against it is boring and predictable, since some deck can easily smash it while others have a very hard time (if not an entire impossible matchup). Blizzard should fix the graveyard's mechanic in order to properly balance out not only this archetype but also make more design space for future cards that may interact with already dead minions.

For what profit is it to a man, if he gains the world and loses his own soul?
The main problem with Big Priest that it is totally shaping the meta, in a really unhealthy way. It forces everyone to play hyper aggressive aggro decks, since most of the time it is impossible to outvalue them with control or midrange decks. Not to mention it is the most frustrating shit to play against since Hearthstone existing. Sometimes I just give up right at the beginning because I don't want a sky-high blood pressure.
its the bottom of tier 2 a lot of the hatred is unjustified
The hatred is not about the win rate, it's about how dumb the deck is and how annoying it is to play against. 70% of the matchup is determined before turn 1, with what deck you are playing. The other 30% is 1. whether they have Barnes turn four and 2. what minion is pulled from Barnes/Shadow Essence. There is no skill, variation or anything else about the deck.
Shudderwalk shaman had a terrible win rate and Blizzard still took steps to nerf the deck because people despised playing against the deck. This is pretty much the similar situation.
Priest is my favorite class but I just won't play Big Priest. It's just a tad too abusive and not as much fun to play as other decks. And yes, in Wild, there are quite a few brutal deck archetypes.
I actually have modestly above .500 win rates with Reno Dragon Priest and Reno Silence Priest. In fact, according to Deck Tracker my overall win rate in Wild is 52%, which I'm pretty proud of considering that I never copy decks. I'm particularly proud of my custom Reno Even Mage deck that's currently churning at a nice 59% win rate.
And nothing gives me greater satisfaction than winning against the so-called broken decks.

Dependable loan sharks since 1960. We sink our teeth into every deal we make.
It turns the game into a cow clicker, a non-game. Either the big Priest mullis/draws well and hammers you by cheating out massive minions from turn 4 onwards, or does not and sits there and essentially does nothing while you beat on them, then they lose. Neither is fun, at all, for either player ...so god knows why people play this deck?
I'll take a match against the worst sort of paladin or mage decks you mention any day over a Big priest, even if I'm less likely to win.
I play since Beta and after all this time Big Priest is STILL the worst designed deck in the game - followed somewhat closely by Jade Druid. Its not about winrates. The moaning about it won't ever stop because the the deck is a critical mass of design failure.
Big priest isnt annoying because it cant be beaten, its because it is literally a coin flip. You can easily aggro down mill rogue (which queue into wild to beat big priest btw), but you cant aggro priest because on each mana curve he has a baord clear (2 lash, 4 horror, 5 hysteria, 6 light bomb or dragon fire, 7 scream gg).
Now I used to be a believer that ya you can tech stuff like overspark, the snout, ettin, basically anything to mess up their rez pool. But it no longer is an option. The problem is the rez mechanic and the fix is really easy tbh, I don't mind the archtype but make it less of a coin flip.
-Barnes 5 mana with less stats shouldnt be a 3/4.
-Vargoth needs a to be 6 mana 2/4 it already limits design space even in standard how is he vanilla stats I dont know
-The rez stone should be 1/2/3 minions
