Hi everyone, nice to meet you. For a long time I never considered playing wild because I just thought I would never be able to match the power levels of people who have already been established in wild since the beginning and as such I figured I would just lose every game. Recently seeing the new murlocs in the EVIL expac I REALLY, for the first time, wanted to play murlocs! The new Underbelly card just adds so much generation to set up a potential reload. Now, onto why I am talking about wild here today, does murloc shaman work in wild? Competitive? Fun? Do.I.Stand.A.Chance? I was even considering adding in tools like Shudderwock and Hagatha (Hero Card) for value.
Wild has every bs combination of cards ever put together mashed up into one. You need to be able to cheat your cards if you are playing a minion based deck in wild, and while I guess shaman can technically do that with the new legendary, priest will do it on the same turn, just with 8-10 mana cards instead of 1-5 mana cards. Pretty sure wild murloc shaman would lose to priest about 90% of the time.
That being said, that doesn’t mean there is no hope. Keep a few cards that are rotating, maybe craft a couple cheap ones, and have some fun. I would spend anything expensive on it though, you won’t be able to climb ranks super well.
It can be fun. Fun decks have a better shot at rank 15 or above if you are trying to play against another 'fun' deck. There is at least a 50 % chance you will queue up against something Tier 1 though. Murlocs already have forms of reload besides the one you mentioned. I wouldn't get too hyped on any one card. Completing the quest and Neptulon are reload. There are also enough cards in the pool to run midrange and control versions after Shadows releases.
Perhaps I will stick with standard then. I suppose my hopes were too high on this one. :(
I mean that being said, just play the new murloc shaman in standard. It will be both strong and fun, and right now you don’t need to worry about infinite clears or infinite 10 mana minions. If you are that excited, it will be even more fun for you in standard than it looks in wild. Super easy to put the deck together too, was putting one together earlier, and it literally just makes itself instead of having to pick and choose the “right” cards.
Just wait a couple of days till the new expansion comes out and give your deck a try.Don't listen to anyone tell you what is going and not going to work, since its just speculations.Yes the power level is high but even budget decks can get you to legend, like mech hunter for example, plus wild mode is "cheaper" than standard since you only need a few cards from every expansion to maintain your decks.
Most important, play the decks that you like and have fun
If you want to play wild, play wild lol. I don't think it's competitive but if you're not bothered about ranking up, you could just have a little fun with it.
If your looking to hit legend with a homebrew murloc deck than your going to have a uphill battle but if you want to play around at rank 10 or so and have a little fun than go for it.
I play at ranks 5-10 every month in wild with some complete garbage decks for fun.
Here is the shit show I'm playing at rank 9 with right now just to mess with big priest lol.
So I just seen Toast's new video of him testing out some new cards with Trump and this begs the question. Do y'all think Bomb Warrior could work? How about in wild? I imagine the strat would be shuffle a million things in opponents deck and protect yourself. Using things like Augmented Elekk, Baleful Banker, and Dead Hand to keep it cycling? Seaforium Bomber, Clockwork Goblin, Wrenchcalibur, oooo and even Iron Juggernaut (even tho it isn't a bomb) !! It sounds fun imo. Thoughts?

I guess it depends on what you mean by "work".
Can you play it and have fun and possibly climb a bit sure. Will it compete at tier 1 or 2 I doubt it.
To be vaible past rank 5 you have to compete mostly with big priest and that unfair BS, warlock getting out 8/8s at turn 4 reliably and the hardcore aggro from kingsbane rogue and paladin with both odd and the whole molten giants thing with the swap life for armor mechanic.
In wild at the top levels you're normally dead by turn 6 or you're facing turn after turn of mega minions past that point.
At lower levels almost anything can works because people try all kinds of crazy decks.
You can really play ANY deck you want in wild up to 15, maybe rank 10. And i suggest you do so, it can be a blast. After rank 10, and shortly before it, it'll be all crazy power level decks. I purposely dropped to rank 15 in wild, so i stand a chance with my meme decks, and can continue working on my golden heroes. Wild can be a ton of fun - especially in the lower ranks.

I agree with this, I love playing Wild between 20 and 10. You do meet all sorts there.

In short, no
in long, no!

Is Priest like the only class played in wild or something? How would secret paladin play in wild?
Looks insane and so fun.
It can be fun. Fun decks have a better shot at rank 15 or above if you are trying to play against another 'fun' deck. So the final verdict is that it isn't competitive and would not do well in wild? With a list similar to the one posted above.
Hi, mate!
I don't know how good will be murloc shaman with new cards. Before that it wasn't good enough, but fun enough to play.
At rank 5+ there are a lot of Big Priests, Warlocks and Even Shamans and they probably destroy you.
As for me, wild is fun, because i play non-meta decks and i have huge collection, so i can play whatever i want.
Correct. Murloc paladin, on the other hand, is really good. Anyfin paladin in particular.
No chance. So only viable murloc deck which can survive post rank 5 is anyfin paladin.
Perhaps I will stick with standard then. I suppose my hopes were too high on this one. :(

Thank you all for the informative answers! I'll wait it out and see what happens then. :^)
