Oh my gosh you freaking crybabies. Druid isn't even the strongest class in wild, and star star aligner druid isn't even the strongest druid deck. Run any of the incredibly powerful aggro decks and you'll stomp star aligner druid. If you insist on running a control deck with the expectation of beating combo decks - which is idiotic - run a control deck with hand disruption or a lot of armor gain potential.
We have more than 3 similar threads to this. Can we just lock this?
Yeah how about no, it needs to be nerfed.
As to the original question, mana wraith works well as a counter.
Silly goose. I'm that kind of guy who writes about problemacy of Psychmelon since 2nd week of Boomsday. Yes, Druid is problematic now, especially AK47 one. That doesn't mean however, that every person should post their half rant/salt post to say their opinion. We have Salt thread for that.
I agree. The deck is far too strong. Most decks have at least one clear counter but Star Aligner can beat every type of deck depending on draws.
Added emphasis for ridiculousness of argument.
Almost any strong deck can be made to seem unbeatable if you tag on that little caveat of them drawing perfectly at the end of any statement.
I'm sure if Psychmelon is near the bottom of the deck then then the deck is still unstoppable right? Or let me guess, druids ALWAYS high roll am I right? Damn, I wish my combo decks always get perfect draws so I could experience this supposed phenomenon of unbreakable win rates.
IF NSW was on the bottom of a deck. IF barnes is on the bottom of a deck. IF raza was on the bottom of a deck. IF your deck is on the bottom of a deck.... Thath your "bottom of a deck" does not mean deck is not oppresive...
Thing is. If you build a deck to counter druid you will lose vs everything else....is that good for meta? No. Shaman only has consistant chance to win against druid but not to lose vs other decks. So i MUST play class that i hate if i wanna win??
Btw i dont care, they dont need to nerf it. I will still play renolock! I win, i lose vs druid. But when i lose its on turn 6...thats not normal dude xD
I've been playing Dragon Control Priest and countering it pretty easily, just Dirty Rat + Shadow Word: Death one of the Star Aligners or Kun. Even better with Brann. Ragequit follows shortly after.
The worrying thing is just how oblivious Blizzard is to the state of Druids and how quickly they can pull it off, it's the fastest OTK Hearthstone has had.
And I guarantee you next expansion Druids will still receive more mana ramp and more card draw.
In each one of the matchups in the screenshots Juicy Psychemelon was used as well as biology project .(so Im 2 mana ahead of my turn(7 mana in my tray means it's turn 5) .
Sometimes I cheat 3 8 mana minions (Lich King ,Deranged Doctor ,Rag and Sneed's old shredder) by turn 5 and they cant do enough damage to kill the druid (Naturalize ,Poison seeds ,Ferocious Howl and Branching Paths )
Matchups are at rank 4 .
I have been playing since K&C and have played against pre-nerf patches ,razakus priest ,cube warlock and spiteful decks ,yet never felt this helpless .
Azalina : not when they combo before you draw her or have 7 mana in your tray .
Dirty rat : as a rogue you cant kill what the rat pulls most of the time (you have 7 mana most of the time before they combo which can be a dirty rat + assasinate ,but why should the entire community tech for one single deck and who uses Assasinate ?) .Spilevine Slayer might be an option but your asking too much luck (pulling aviana or kun) and deck disruption (not all decks want two dirty rats and two Vilespine Slayers in their deck) and the same goes for other cards in other classes.
If your archetype can handle them pretty easily other archetypes can't even compete (i.e.no matter how good your draw is and how bad their draw is (can't see how their draw can be bad since either they draw the combo or the cards that draw the combo).
"I handle them easily with my control warrior"
"They ragequit after I play demonic project"
"My Even Shaman crushes them before turn 5".
I used to hate shudderwock shaman a lot when WW was released ,now because of JP druids I love facing that deck . (No ramp ,no crazy armor gain ,combo not earlier than turn 9 and slower and less effective removal tools that overload)
I really think the problem is Aviana + Kun in the first place. The interaction between these cards introduced and made possible every single Druid combo deck. It's kind of boring that Druids generally don't have/play other combo enablers.
That said, Psychmelon makes it extremely consistent and Star Aligner makes it easier to achieve than a Malygos combo.

This. Isn't it the same to be destroyed by Star Aligner or by Togg + Azalina? I get that it feels frustrating to be on the other side of those kind of combos but I don't think it's uncounterable by any means. I played this deck last day of the season and I actually lost quite a bit to Warlocks: if they burn Aviana or Kun it's really difficult to find a win, if they rat one of those and then kill it, it's pretty over as well.
I think sometimes people are playing wrong against Star Aligner. People with Jade Druid tried to race instead of just armoring up with Branching Paths... The games I found most of the difficulties were against Warrior: they armor up to a billion and you have to go for something like play Medivh and hope Atiesh brings good stuff with Plagues and Nourish. Oh, and the deck can really be smashed by aggro (considering of course you don't have the nuts). Secret Mage destroyed me a couple of times with well timed Explosive Runes, so I could just try to combo or die to burn but Aviana is really bad against that secret :P One of the ways you can actually win is just knowing which cards you cannot play around: for instance, as Paladin you can never beat plague so just max pressure and hope I guess. :P
So... the deck is tier 1 (probably a bit better than other tier 1 decks actually) but is by no means uncounterable.
The exact reason why I quit wild... Staraligner druid in capable hands is very strong, game breaking I'd say
While I like strong combo deck this combo deck is so strong that it literally leaves no space to any other combo decks... Games are pretty boring in wild now

I'm not sure what you're trying to say here? SA Druid beats your crazy slow rogue control deck?
With 10 mana: Aviana + Kun (refresh mana crystals) then you have to play at least Medivh + Star Aligner for 7 dmg. The full combo is Medivh + Brann Bronzebeard + Star Aligner + Star Aligner + Brewmaster (bounce Aligner and play it again) then when you have a full board you can kill brewmaster with Spellstone and play another Brewmaster + Aligner for a grand total of 56 dmg.
Edit: of course you can avoid the brewmaster part and do 28 dmg to every enemy or play just 1 brewmaster and do 42
Honestly, if they just made Aviana cost 10 mana, which would then require an Innervate as another combo piece, slowing down Druids by a couple turns. That alone would help immensely.

I have had great success destroying that deck with Dirty Rat.
watch this video if you are interested in smashing that deck and hitting wild legend this season.
avianna needs to go. thats it. 2 demonic project plus 2 rats doesnt even do it sometimes.
they fucked the blade flurry saying design space. and look at avianna.
and then a 4 mana card draw that draws what you want.
the stupidity of this team is of the roof

Does Star Aligner beat everything or just your pet deck? (Hint, I already know the answer)

Rank 25? Sounds more like some people are already prepared to be on rank 50 with a mindset like this xDDD

Countered right here
FYI
That’s star aligned Druid and had bloat bat with a giant wasp, that’s the stealth minion
Anyone ever heard of Dirty Rat + literally any hard removal
