Honestly Wild feels great at the moment. So many different creations and ideas, it makes for a really good player experience, that's for half the time at least. But then comes the Pirate Warrior. Now I'm not complaining here, far from it, in fact it's making it really easy for me to climb ATM. But... Pirates have been a thing for a while now. Played all the time pre-Un-goro. Played a lot post-Un-goro. And now, pre-LK people have just taken to spamming it in wild, most of the time not even using cards like Death's Bite or Ship's Cannon. Are you people not completely and utterly bored? You're making easy targets for me at the moment, but you know what I've had some incredible games that last a little while today, I've had some cool ones that do not. The warrior does not greet, does not say well played, nothing. Just face, face, face. I had an 8-1 Van-Cleef while they had a First Mate on board, still hit face with it, despite me at 23 hp and they are 14, at the time I even had fewer cards in hand.
It is my ambition to make a new deck every day in Wild with new themes and I am having so much fun and I commend those of you who are doing the same. It's not like Pirate Warrior even feels good in wild, it may be good I don't know, I haven't tried it in wild, but it just feels really bad. I've made a couple of tech choices in a deck that goes really deep and I'm 15-2 vs Pirates today, one of those defeats being while I didn't have Healbot, SI7 and Golakka Crawler. Those of you just spamming games with Pirates, I urge you to just have a look and maybe consider playing something different or exciting, let's make the Wild meta a really decent place for the last few weeks of the expansion. At the moment you're just making my climb to legend ridiculously easy at the moment, and blandness is why I stopped with standard recently.
When I'm commuting, my train goes through a lot of tunnels.
Pirate warrior in ranked is the only thing that allows me to win quickly enough before my phone loses connection again.
Thank you for understanding.
There is no excuse for playing Pirate Warrior, especially in Wild. Bugger off back to Standard where you and the rest of the loathsome SMorc Decks belong.
pirate warrior is better in wild due to ship's cannon.. so.. your point isn't valid.
the question is, are these actual players or just bots you are playing.. I hate the deck, no creativity, little strategy, no suprises. So it is boring to play against despite winrates and I can only imagine it is also boring to play. So it makes sense that bots are playing these mostly
most likely bots. it has been an issue since MSoG and blizzard has done nothing about it. do they really think these people are playing 24 hours a day instantly searching for a new game?
Oh, almighty control/combo players, please forgive us for smashing your faces "without strategy/interactivity/mercy" on and on and on.....
Fuck off, Man up and understand that all strategies are completely valid. If you can't win against pirate warrior, you are the problem, not your "almighty" decks.
Proud of playing pirate warrior, aggro shaman, face hunter, Warlock zoo, mech mage, Undertaker, among other decks.
dude blizzard killed freeze mage because it was unfun and just now i got killed by a mage who alex me with double ice block. people are people and theyre always be trash at least the majority. you think this guy cares if his deck is unfun to the other person??? he doesnt give a shit basically i bet he might even feel satisfied that he annoyed someone. thats the average douchebag of today. aslong as the game allows it players will always be douchebags cause even in their real lives they are trash. got it?
Here's something I don't understand. Blizzard nerfed Quest Rogue not because it was oppressive with its winrate, but because it was unfun to play against and limited deck variety (it crushed control decks).
Yet Blizzard allows Pirate Warrior to be a top-tier deck, when it is just as oppressive toward slower aggro decks, midrange decks, and some combo decks.

dude this game is flawed by design even if the game has many fun and interesting decks and combinations to be played blizzard cant prevent people from playing a certain cancer deck. and trust me as long as they exist people will just play the most annoying deck or combination exist in the game because most of those guys emoting are griefers and griefer means i play to make the other users life miserable and make him angry.
whatever bad of griefing is allowed people will play it.....

I'm a player who plays Freeze Mage over and over again. I don't play it ot annoy people, I play it because combo decks are by far the most fun decks to play and they allow me to win by outplaying my opponent, which is also by far the most satisfying way to win games, at least for me. I also love to play against Freeze Mage because I know how hard the deck is to pilot properly and I know how to make the game incredibly hard for the Freeze Mage, I know it's weaknesses. It's fun specially if I'm playing a deck that is weak to Freeze, because it's a challenge for me to beat them. Obviously, I'm in the minority, from all I see, but I have a really hard time understanding why people have such hatred for the deck when they clearly don't understand how hard it is to pilot correctly and have no experience with the deck to appreciate it.
I can say I hate Hyper Aggressive decks because I hate playing against them (not because they are over powered, because they offer free wins which shouldn't be awarded), but also because I have in the past played those decks to learn the decks and their weaknesses, and I realized while playing them just how unfun and disgusting they were to play. Yet this is what the majority of the player base plays, so clearly they enjoy it. Does that mean they want to ruin other people's experience? No, they probably just want to win and they know cancer decks offer many free wins where they don't even need to use their brain to win. As long as they stick to Ranked Mode, it's fine by me.
i hope you will have fun playing freeze mage only in wild from next year cause from the looks of it because of this communitys own actions alex gadjetzan and idk if ice block i doubt they will remain in standard. if you cant see and realize how your deck is unfun to others then i dont think we can have a conversation. gain a full turn of immortality no matter what or suddenly doing 15 damage while putting a 8/8 down are unfun and unhealthy things for this game and they will remove them :)
thanks for reporting my post it seems that truth hurts.
What? You mean quoting it?
not this...above i was saying that some people play only to grief and make others feel bad and because i cursed them someone reported me. seems like ive hit the nail :). ad about your post i dont really care even Brode told that gadjetzan and alex are going to the hall of fame probably..... it will happen no matter1-2 persons think. but these changes are been driven by the community itself. if people stopped playing alex and ice blocks and gdjetzan they would have left them untouched but community pushes things so..... you get what you deserve i guess

I guess I'm the only person here that enjoys playing against pirate warrior. They're really not bad if your deck has a lot of small AOE and early removal for cannons and berserkers.
The wild meta right now is as predictable and simple as 70% pirate warrior, 20% priest. There's a lot of decks that I like playing and counters both
Pirate warrior is a legitimate hearthstone deck. It is yet to be nerfed, it still exists which probably means Blizzard condones and accepts it as of now. Anyone who disagrees either lost too many times in the worst possible way or actually cares about the game balance. Most are the former sadly, even if they proclaim otherwise, hence the derogatory namecalling and swearing. It gives quick wins given the right draw and its OP factor is what makes people continue to play it, especially in wild with ship's cannon. I shall be very honest, most people, myself included, wont prioritize the opponent's enjoyment over quick wins. So yes ,it will continue run rampant until its power level falls. Of couse it isn't as fun as control decks though. The abundance of options and combos is why I prefer reno decks. The satisfaction of winning a long control match is one of the best experiences in hs. That being said, I don't mind resorting to pirates for its practicality when needed. It isnt nerfed, it is accepted, it is quick, efficent and the only down sides are slight staleness and my opponent's bitterness. Both of them I can live with.

It mostly comes down to how much fun do you have when your games are decided at mulligan stage. Not everyone likes games whether you either draw your relevant cards for the matchup right away and win, or you don't draw them and you lose. This kind of games are not fun for some people, we like to have games where you can have a chance to outplay our opponents without needing to draw the exact cards to survive. When your survival is dependant solely on your draw order, which you cannot control, it is a frustrating experience every time luck doesn't help you.
It depends on your deck, I suppose. If your deck has a lot of answers to their stuff, you're more likely to draw into relevant cards. From the sound of it, you're either playing horribly slow decks that shouldn't be played on ladder, Reno decks that rely on drawing Reno or early minion based decks that have no come back cards
I do, in fact feel like I make a lot of impactful decisions when playing against pirate warrior. For instance, playing as priest I need to decide when and how to go in with wild pyromancer; whether to save flash heal for my face or use as removal with soulpriest; whether I need to commit pains or other removal on 3/3s or if I can afford to save them for cannons/captains/berserkers. Playing as druid I need to decide between things like hero powering early 1/1s or playing wild growth; saving small spells for spellpower minions or committing them right away; using swipe or feral rage on a berserker

Oh, these are players. One warrior SMOrc'ed me on turn 4, then sent me a friend request, typed this
"gg
ez
noob"
and deleted himself.
Gorge you hatred, embrace your rage.
I do not enjoy playing Pirate warrior at all.
I don't find the wins gratifying, I actually feel a little shameful.
Rumors are carried by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots.

It will lose its power a bit each expansion, no need for nerfing, though it reigns supreme for too lng now, whole 8 months.
