So I'm basically playing a traditional midrange paladin that goes wide then uses sunkeeper to close out games early, with boom, tirion and whatever i discovered from stonehill as additional win conditions. freeze mage and nzoth renolock can be brutal matchups if they draw well, but i would say hunter, murloc paladin and pirate warrior are overall the hardest since its a bit of a coin flip as to who gains the board. would Ragnaros, Lightlord be of any use in this deck besides vs burn mage? I have him, just not sure if he is worth attempting to fit into my deck. The aggro decks i listed as issues generally win or lose by turn 8 anyways so he would just be a dead draw in the early game. are there any other healing options i should really consider or just hope that i win the board in those games? Healbot seems slow, guardian of kings is just pretty bad in general, ivory knight is inconsistent, lay on hands is slow, and tuskar jouster would very likely lose much more than he wins (shame he isnt worded like Healing Wave even if he did cost 1 more mana).
Rag isn't as important in Midrange as he is in Control. If you're finding success without him then you're probably fine but consider what you'd drop for him and think whether he'd be worthwhile in your matches. He's usually too slow against aggro and I find that he's really good against Mage, but Forbidden Healing is still better in those matchups and that only sees play in Control.
I was considering him as a replacement for loatheb, who is also best vs control, though does get some value vs aggro and other midrange decks. but healing kind of key vs burn/freeze mages
i think Tarim is a better fit for mid-range than rag is particularly since you are playing wild, Fanfic Rag is kind of a card that will only get milleage in a control deck or in anyfin Paladin

Yeah, Tarim is a huge win condition, hes the main reason i use stonehill defenders as well lol. If i added rag, i think loatheb would have to be the card that gets removed as hes the only real flex card. Was also thinking maybe of just adding nzoth for loatheb. i would only be getting back haunted creepers, boom bots, shredders and tirion, but tirion alone makes it probably worthwhile tbh. my curve is low enough i dont see it causing any huge issues
It crushes Pirates and Hunters, and I believe it's the best variant of Paladin out there right now.
Onto your question: is Lightlord necessary? No. Play a defensive enough deck and you'll beat aggro. Play enough value and you'll beat control. You'll never beat burn mages. Ergo, there are significantly better tools then Lightlord, and in the games Lightlord would be useful, you won't win anyway, so what's the point.
That's my two cents, anyway.
How has that done? I was considering crafting inquisitors just for the stats it has as a 1 drop. I'm assuming you are running the tidecaller just for curator synergy? I went with crabs for all the murloc paladin and decks like aggro druid running the finja package, though of course that sometimes messed me up when I want creeper instead
