I played a lot of arena lately and I guess I'm going to stop again until this is fixed. But lately mct is in every second arena deck. It's literally everywhere. And while I'm fine with a tech card poping up every here and now. It's fucking ridiculous when you need to play a game with supposedly 7 slots of minions with only 3 because otherwise you'll lose the game 100%.
Maybe I'm also just salty but 3 of my last loses were all due to mtc taking my strongest minion. And while I know you should play around it sometimes the only option you have is flooding the board to match your opponents big treats
Edit: before my recent return to arena I haven't played it for I guess 2 expansions. And I can't remember MCT popping up that often so I either have a serious case of confirmation bias or the changed something so it turns up way more often than it should

they changed the bucket system a few times in the last couple of years. the card is terrible in every way. just play around it when you're at like 7 wins.
I agree that MCT is a big offender. Ppl can tell you to play around it, but that is exactly the problem. Why should you? Why should you be punished for creating a board advantage for yourself? Why should you be artificially constrained by the game to give your opponent breathing room to flip the game? I can understand comeback mechanics, but this is just stupid design, plain and simple.
Obviously we all learnt to deal with this crap, but that doesnt mean we wouldnt be better off. That being said, i dont believe they will remove it completely, but it should be put in a higher tier bucket to appear less often.
Unfortunately it looks like they will never remove it from arena. Sometimes you cannot even play around it, had a Lich King and a 3/3 on board, opponent plays Muck Hunter followed by Mind Control Tech and guess which one he snags. Straight up loss on that after dominating the board. By all means it's fine in constructed but arena could use more touching up on the bucket systems and notorious offenders such as Fungalmancer.

Not sure if i should take this comment seriously or as a light joke; but since the revamped drafting system, rarity no longer matters (except Legendary ofc).

just make it steal the right most minion, still good board swing but not as frustrating to play against
This is actually a nice Idea as it allows for more counterplay and strategy.
As it is it's the most random swing card there is. I mean comebacks should be allowed as classpecific cards. You know you can't just overextended against a mage on turn 6/7 or you'll potentially lose your board.
But MCT tech can be everywhere every time and will loose you the game at random.
How is MCT worse than any other board clear? Asking "Why should I be punished for building a big board?" is absurd when the same can be said about almost everything else - for example, Poisonous minions (which are very prevalent in the current Arena) punish big minions. Should we also remove Poisonous minions so as to not punish people for playing big minions?
Btw, playing around MCT doesn't necessarily mean never playing more than 3 minions. You can also flood your board with tiny minions and 1-2 big minions to reduce the chances of your big minion being stolen. Or you can "spread your buffs" around so that all the minions are equally good and the loss of one isn't game-breaking.

Playing around MCT is one aspect , but i also heard from some pros they think the card in general is too swingy .
Like the old secret card (sry I’m on phone hard to copy stuff , 3 mana4/3from gvg?) that not only "killed" a secret, but on top also put it in play for you.
Rotation or toning him down to 5 mana? ( like BGH) seems reasonable.
(PS , The Bouncer 4/5 taunt for 5 mana , wich became 2 mana cheaper if 3 or more enemy minions are on the board, felt like a much better balanced and to play against card )
Maybe from arena i can agree cause its rng doubled down. Getting it in tbe draft and stealing a great minion. In constructed i dont agree. Its a bad card vs everything except aggro so it should remain balanced

MCT is by no means a guaranteed win after he is played.
if aids and cancer had an arena baby it'll be called MCT
MCT is our bulwark against all the fucking smorc swarming decks, leave it alone.
No. Also, zoo player detected.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Totally agreed. It should go to HoF next rotation.

It should have a limit to what it can steal. Like a certain cost or attack. It could even boost the card in certain situations.
Divine spirit should also go, it's not fun potentially dying at any turn just because you didn't kill one minion.

I think that Flamestrike or Meteor are by far more impactful cards than Mind Control Tech when you play against Mage.
MCT does not guarantee a win. Indeed it helps a lot to turn the table. They can move it into a higher bucker and this can solve the problem.. or not?
btw..Watching a lot of Kripparian's videos?

MCT rarely works for me since my opponent always play around it in arena - I would state that having MCT often looses me the match.
