Hello fellow arena players, do u often have an interesting arena games or moments, that u would like to share with others, but u cant rly find any good place to do so? Are u tired of always having to make a new topic so u can share that one moment? Well, look no further!
I would like to start this topic as a place for all of us to come together and share our epic arena experiences, both ups and downs, but in a respectful manner, if u feel the need to vent your frustration, i suggest spending the afternoon in a Salt Mine.
U can share your stories in any way u like, post a screenshot, video or replay of your game or just write down what happend, or all of the above! Your choice. Share and discuss! :)
Yesterday i had a rly crazy rogue run, it was after i was goin through my deck and looking what kind of synergies i have and what would be my win condition etc., where i realized, i had no taunts!!! :D It still looked like a decent tempo deck with a good early game, but having 0 taunts (as a rogue no less) is very very bad, so i didnt expect much from it, but all hail Hallucinations :D they did provide some very epic games.
Deck list:
2-0: So u think u can Priest?
This game turned out to be completely crazy, not something i would imagine at all. It was a fairly normal game until priest started dropping Drakonid Operatives left and right and got my Shadowcaster several times, i thought to myself "f*** me, GG" at least i will make a cute QQ screenshot :D
Next couple turns arent very well documented, cause he played a Bog Creeper that i killed with Shadowreaper Anduin and thought how ahead i am with my two 3/3s on the board and new OP hero power ... silly me. He then continued to play one big monster after another and i had to focus and count properly the dmg and mana cost of my cards and hero power so i could clear him, so i wasnt focusin on makin screenshots :D
When things cooled down a bit, it was when i finally had time to play Prophet Velen (i dont even know where i got it from anymore). U can see that my hero power deals 4 dmg, he is under the description :) But sure enough, Shadow Word: Death made short work of him :(
And as if it wasnt enough, he managed to get a friggin Pyros from Shallow Gravedigger, so i had to figure out how to deal with the 10/10 monster when it would finally arrive. Thankfully i drew into Plague Scientist, so now it was just a question of keepin a minion on the board for the turn he is gonna play the big bird. Dealing with 2/2 was obviously easy, 6/6 as well, since i managed to keep a minion on board, but 10/10 was about to be a real problem. But that Embrace the Shadow, that was completely useless to me for like 15 turns turned out to have a use after all, it refreshed my hero power and allowed me to clear his mininon and stick one of my own on the board and be rdy for the 10/10. Sure enough, he played it and i cleared with poison <3
Now the only question was, what r those two cards that he has in hand, am i safe or not? Turned out i was! Won by one turn of fatigue dmg, what a messy epic game!
3-2: Oh no, another priest ...
This time it was obvious right away, how this game gonna look like, or so i thought.
The game was a lot messier than i would hope for and we traded back and forth for the most of the midgame, when he finally played some 5+ Attack minions and it was finally time for me to mount the Anduin, there was that Shallow Gravedigger again .. this time ... it spit out Tirion Fordring, jesus! ... Keep in mind, my deck had 0 taunts and i was at 20 hp with him having 15 dmg just from the weapon, this is when things got serious.
But because i was in a priest death knight form, i was now considered a priest (not rogue) for discover purposes, so the ever awesome Servant of Kalimos gave me Lyra the Sunshard :D
And as luck would have it, i drew into Backstab, so i managed to get at least one spell out of her, before she died. And that was enough ... i completely trashed this spell in my KFT arena impact review, but this time, it saved my ass - Embrace Darkness!
He thought he was safe and just played the Obsidian Statue vs my Servant of Kalimos, not a wrong play at the time for him, he couldnt have known :D But i snatched the statue for myself and that was the turnaround.
In his last ditch effort, he entered Shadowform, i guess he liked my new hero power and wanted to try it out for himself ... close enough, muhahaha :p
Didnt took long to completely turn the game around and win with a healthy 21 hp thanks to the statue :))
4-2: Rogues like elementals too!
The last highlight of this run was a pretty straight forward game vs mage, where i got Frost Lich Jaina.
I managed to actually get an elemental on the board prior to playing her, so that was rly nice, actually amazing, considering i had just two 1 Attack elementals (so those dont rly count) and only two other (bigger) elementals in the entire deck. I suppose it wouldnt rly matter, i was in a pretty good position by the time i played her anyway.
Tho i think the game could have gone a bit differently, if i didnt have Jaina right there, decent board, but nothing rly in the hand, would have to trade into that 5/5 and probably take 5 to the face and end up at 13 hp vs mage with 6 cards in hand, wouldnt be the best position ever. But alas.
Interesting thing to note, u cannot silence out Lifesteal, when Frost Lich Jaina was played ... i mean it makes sense right? But probably not something that u would realize until u saw it in action first. I certainly didnt.
He got one more little doozie and i was like "oh cmon!!" thinking this was a beginning of some huge clear next turn or something, but it wasnt, his resources were spent and he just tapped out.
Certainly the least interesting game of the three i described here, but it was nice having so much lifesteal as a rogue :D GG :p
And there u have it, the end! :) The run ended 7-3 which was more than i hoped for, so yay! :)
Well, im not sure anyone will actually read all that, i tend to go into a lot of details and my personal thoughts and opinions when i get into the storytelling :D but if u did, then thanks! and hope u enjoyed it :)
I've got a few, but I think my favorite is from a Warlock run from a while back (Whispers meta). I don't recall the entire board situation exactly, I just remember I was playing against a Druid, I was coming up on my 7 mana turn with a Wrathguard on board and my opponent chose not to kill it... which was FINE by me! On my turn I played Floating Watcher, traded the Wrathguard, then played 2 Flame Imps... which resulted in my Watcher being 10/10 on the same turn I played it.
Instant concede.
Good times!
Aaaaand now I miss wild Arena again.

Hehe thats nice! Yeah i remember Floating Watcher ... such an annoying minion, almost every time it got played it was 8/8+ :D
and there is that arena run like 2 weeks ago , it ended 1-3 sadly but i got the luckiest pack in my life :)
I never actually got The Ancient One in arena myself yet. Guess im too much of a coward to go for it, since the pieces required r pretty bad cards on their own so i dont pick em :X
The priest didn't concede and I had to kill him lol
Judging from your profile I guess you play Arena in EU, Sinti? Too bad I'm on NA, would love to friend and spectate some games.
Yes, im on EU, tho either of us can switch region and spectate a game, i dont think that should be too much of a problem .) Mby the time zone differences lol :p
Don't be play arena usually, but I had a really nice game once. Was playing a rogue, and in run I got a Kidnapper and a Shadowcaster I believe. Playing against Shaman I think, I discovered Kalimos. Played Kalimos 3 or so times in that game, was a fun one.

Bouncy bouncy :) Its fun when u can make slow value plays, not so much these days.
Finally got offered warrior lol :P Wanted to try him out in KFT for some time now. First pick crap, crap and Finja, the Flying Star ... ok lets go for murloc synergy and have some fun!, second pick Primalfin Lookout, hell yeah! lets do this! ... and then no murloc till 27th pick vs a better card at which point i didnt even got for that at that point, too bad :( Still the run had some fun moments:
0-0: This started with a big "WTF?!" moment :D
... and in the same game, my epic synergy was destroyed right away :( RUDE!
2-0: Damn, cant even remember the last time i saw Blood Knight ... lucky me to have an answer, not that it helped in the end :D
2-2: Another Snowflipper Penguin, how cute <3 I thought how im gonna get him by playin Acolyte of Pain into that (not like i had much better options, was planning to swap the stats and mby trade into something next turn, if needed), then he plays Rallying Blade, because ofc he has that right? yeah ... and then ... he goes face ... :D I dont think i have seen worse play in a very long time.
... later on, he was trying to be sneaky with gettin Eye for an Eye from Hydrologist ... not today, sir! :P
3-2: This one isnt as much of a good/bad play as how funny it was ... he played a card to get a card and activated my Leatherclad Hogleader, as if he wasnt in a bad spot already, poor guy, almost felt sorry for him :P
Ended up just with 5 wins, the deck was all over the place, had some good cards, but very inconsistent to work out in a long term. Fun run tho :)
This game started badly and as u can see on the screen below, it was about to end even worse ...
My only option was Kazakus, tho i wasnt sure even that would make a difference, i went for it and got "1st discover: deal 4 dmg to all enemies and 2nd discover: transform a random enemy minion into a 1/1 sheep", rope started burning and i had to act quickly ...
... i managed to get all minions to 4 hp and leave the biggest one to be polymorphed, i couldnt believe i pulled that off ... or so i thought.
That friggin spell did it in reverse order :D 1st polymorphed something and THEN aoe'd :D cmon! u had one job! Left him with 17/5 Backroom Bouncer and Ashbringer, GG :((
Last night I was playing as priest and my opponent dropped a Bone Drake. I used Shadow Visions and hit on my Mind Control, knowing I had the board to kill the drake and set up a steal on whatever big nasty it kicked back to my opponent.
Sure enough, 2 turns later he played Deathwing, Dragonlord as his only minion on board. I had 3 minions on board at 5 atk each (thanks to Bonemare on my Acolyte of Pain) and stole the big fella, then swung face, taking opp's health to 7.
He responds by playing Deathwing. O.o I had Arcanosmith, Emerald Reaver, and Fire Plume Phoenix in hand so I figured I could still win it since my health was 2 swings and I had the taunt plus pings. Top-deck was the mind control I had copied a few turns back. lmao.... I actually felt a bit bad for opp on that one.
Thats pretty brutal.
Honestly i dont like that card like Mind Control exist in arena, i know its not rly that big of an issue on average, but with the rise of priest power and popularity i feel like it is close to the fear of possible Flamestrike.
U cannot play a big taunt vs a priest, ever ... if u dont have a way to deal with that. U cannot play a big minion vs priest, ever ... if u dont have a way to deal with that. The fear of mind control just gives priest SO much leeway, i cant remember the number of games where i could set up very comfortable overwhelming board state, but i wouldnt have a way to deal with MC if it took my big guy, i would have to basically trade everything else into it and sometimes it wouldnt even be enough ... but if u play around MC in that situation and dont play enough stuff, he can just drop whatever BS from Free From Amber or Obsidian Statue and completely and utterly take the game from u, even tho u could have had it in the bag. Ugh ...

But this was also the beginning of my RNGfiesta, as u can see i have two undercity huksters and i am about to draw a Hallucination, that will later give me Shadowreaper Anduin. I also got a Thoughtsteal from one hukster and that gave me a dragon, to trigger the Drakonid Operative of my own, that i got prior from Shifting Shade that i got from my 1st Hallucination :D Who's the priest now, priest?!!! :P

Ok, that was one long bed time story, i will give u some shorter bids as well, to inspire u :)
David vs Goliath
He topdecked Deathwing, i topdecked Stubborn Gastropod :D
How small of a chance was this again?!
Pretty much my every Mad Bomber ever ...
Oh yeah, and also this ...
My opponent's every T5/T6 after i play a value minion with 2- Attack (Gurubashi Berserker, Venomancer, Validated Doomsayer, Scaled Nightmare ...)
I hear u like UnGoro, so i put some UnGoro into your Ungoro!
Value plays 101, play Elise the Trailblazer, get the Un'Goro Pack, repeat! :D
Just Priest things ...
He got the ONLY direct dmg spell i had in my deck ... i mean ofc he did :D
Btw bonus points for the opponent's name :D
Should I? ... hmmm
He played an Archbishop Benedictus into my Frozen Clone, needless to say it was a fun game :D
Hey, this 2 mana 2/6 taunt, thats a good minion, right?
Nope.
Is ... that leathal?
I think the picture says it all :D
Literall mindgames!
I love Big-Time Racketeer for so many reasons :D One of my most favourite cards in arena for sure!
Rag on Rag battle!
This one took a while :D
Who has bigger balls?!
This one was actually rly funny ... we were both goin face with flappy bird and it was about who is gonna cave first :D I didnt, i won! xaxaxa
Ok, thats enough from me for now, im looking forward to see your stuff guys!

Just played a druid as priest.
Was winning on the board and he dropped Deathwing.
Top deck - Stubborn Gastropod.
He hero powered into it to vent his frustration.
I've once made a Paladin arena deck with Blood of The Ancient One and i was able to pull The Ancient One 2 times and that was really marvellous
and there is that arena run like 2 weeks ago , it ended 1-3 sadly but i got the luckiest pack in my life :)
Most of my plays are on HSreplay which is a lot more boring than your detailed description + screenshots.
Just gonna leave this here tho. I also misplayed and could've gotten 4 Lich Kings instead. RIP
Here's another tilted mess for the opponent (had a crypt lord, ironbark, and some 1/5s that died):
