This is exactly what Brawl should be about: unexpected situations that force you to be creative and build little strategies with limited resources turn by turn. I love this. I find it stimulating. Keep it that way, Blizz!
You...you're being serious? Someone tell me he's not being serious.
Yes, this week took some great amount of "strategy". Turn 1 coin + Unstable. Turn 2 Unstable. Turn 3 secret. Turn 4 Gahzrilla.
Lemme tell ya, man. The strategy I needed to do that was so creative.
I kindof agree, but i also think his ideal brawl would work very well for the game.

Hi i'm a youtuber and sometimes a twitch streamer, but mostly a game design nerd!
i like playing lock this week, bane of doom and siphon soul does work......
oh and the card draw for extra portal means you can outrace your opponent.....
best game so far: i portal into a sneed and got a troggazer out of it..... he had a 4 portal hand.....
So far I rarely run out of cards in any class unless I get boned on portal draws (like all 0 mana tiny creatures that you just flood the board with and pray). Lock seems like a bad choice to me. Siphon and bane are ok, but cards like Sense Demon and demonic pact are dead in your hand mostly.
Best game I've had is a totally lucky come from behind against a priest while playing druid. I was getting crap card pulls and my opponent established a pretty good board. The only big card I had drawn so far was Elite Tauren Chieftain which was killed and gave me the murloc card. I played out turn 5 with the best combo of portals I could have hoped for. Warsong commander and sunfury protector. I traded and had a decent life total. The priest dropped a abomination and my hopes sank. My rushy plan would have fell flat after the guy popped and killed off my board. Then he dropped a recombobulator and changed it. I top decked Power of the Wild and filled my board up with a ton of damage and put up a few taunts. Next turn I finshed him off.
The sheer luck of this format is fun and frustrating. I've gotten double pyroblast in my deck, for instance. I've also played against double polymorph -- used on my chromaggus and sunwalker.
I'm not one of those people who hates every brawl, but this is the worst one yet. No strategy whatsoever. if you don't get any borderline useful spells, nothing you can do to come back except hope for a deathwing. The constant portal animations make the app crash, so this brawl is basically pointless and unplayable.

That's untrue. Of course randomness is involved, but you can win with any class independent of their spells. I have won 21 out of 25 matches. Strategy when you play what etc plays actually a huge role.

sense demons put 2 1/1 into your hand for 3, so its not great, but it has gotten me out of weird scraps before..... demonic pact is interesting since the only card you work it with is bane and sense demon.
other than that, i m not gonna complain about getting corruption or demonheart in this format.....
and the non discriminate reset button known as twisting nether, and it comes in 2s

Remember when having 10 mana and better cards was strategy?
Last day, I was losing nearly 80% of my games (I think) on one account, then I started to win like a god (80% win rate?) on another account, but both on the same Asia server.
Speaking of luck and RNG, in the very last game, the Rogue plays Sprint into more Unstable Portals of which one turns into a Big Game Hunter just in time to kill the Mountain Giant I just played, so he doesn't have to trade his entire board into it. It was a very close game, but I lost to RNG.
On a slightly different note: The dream combo courtesy of Nefarian

Me either.
it is when you have to outplay 2 mind control, 2 mind games, 2 shadow word death, 2 big game hunter, and a rend blackhand every game with a shaman, druid, or mage deck
I missed the opportunity to get into a Trolden video, because i couldn't start the record early enough :/ Check out the screenshot :D
Did I miss something? I do not see anything special in the screenshot...
He played Millhouse Manastorm and then i got a Auktioneer from an Unstable Portal. So whenever i cast a spell, i draw a new card, which has to be a spell as well. Due to Millhouse spells are for free, so i could have played all the unstable Portals to fill up my hand with cheap minions for free. Unfortunatly, i tried to record it and it cost me too much time and i could just cast a few spells.

So you had a lucky streak. I've had those before as well. That doesn't mean this is a strategic brawl. When you get a captains parrot and they get Ironbark protector... yeah, very strategic!

What are the rewards for winning?

This game I got a Trogzor. I was very strategic about laughing as my board filled up with super powered trogs
