I remember the time when you played decks with the likes of Reno, Kazakus, Inkmaster solia, and Raza. Powerful cards that could be combined with cards that had never been used in competetive decks before. A lot of those decks differed from eachother in some way. Of course there were some decks that wasn't funny to play against because of how opressive they were: Power overwhelming leeroy warlock (Renolock), and Highlander priest with herocard. However, most decks were funny to play with and play against. Because there only was one copy of a certain card made the games unpredictable, most of the games didn't end up the same. The decks kept changing throughout the metas, a lot of tech cards came in handy, and the decks could succesfully be played in different ways. All in all, the experience was great and I'm really looking forward to see more cards with the no duplicate text.
except we currently haven't seen a reason to play highlander decks, the explorers aren't powerful enough to warrant them without more support
Basically this. None of the Legendaries are strong enough to warrant weakening your deck like this.
There is one more, yet to be revealed, neutral Legendary with that requirement, but it needs to be really good. We're talking a game changing effect, otherwise nobody will run these decks.

1 or 2 years ago I would've agreed on your thought. Undoubtedly, new decks are going to be tested and discovered. But we all know, after like 10 days the decks with the highest winrates dominate again.
I wonder if Hearthstone will have a 'proper' comeback on twitch. Right now it is pretty much dead. Don't get me wrong, Kibler and RDU is fun. But there used to be like 10-20 big streamers.
Okay, I see what you mean. If those decks won't be a thing this expansion, they might be played in future expansions. They might make additional cards with the "no duplicate" text, like they did in mean streets.
Yes, I like highlander decks, and they could create a more diverse metam but as it currently stands, they are just not good enough to stand up against non-highlander decks. So they won't create a more diverse meta. Maybe in wild, but not in standard.
Not enough Support in Standard might see more playstyle in wild. The current legendaries are really underwhelming , the only archetype I could maybe see through out this year might be paladin.Upgraded Hero powers shouldn‘t be underestimated worst case would be choose between warrior warlock or priest since paladin got a lot of Health & drawing generating cards already
If the no-duplicate payoff is strong enough to make it worth building around, it's probably going to be an effect that everyone ends up hating after a few weeks.
People complained endlessly about both Kazakus and Reno. And remember the other deck restriction with a payoff? Odds and Evens? They had to retire that a year early because everyone was so sick of it.
I fear this is a battle the developers can't win.
The only way to implement no-duplicates with any staying power is to make it a separate game mode with no mechanical payoff.

As a whole, yes but the new Highlander cards are bad and most likely won’t see play, the old Highlander cards were powerful and great for the game

Why u hav to be mad? is only card gaem.
The last "No Duplicates" card will have to be Neutral and powerful to make the deck type playable.
