Previous vicioussyndicate report already showed that Warlock is most popular class. It was always around 25% but now it is even (hehe) worse as for me 40% of ladder is Warlock. Despite having good winrate it doesn't feel like it can be easy countered. Also it is very hard to mulligan as we have 3 viable archetypes. That is fine because at least we don't have to play versus one deck but only zoo feels kinda fresh. The other two: evenlock and cubelock (already nerfed still good) are kinda boring both to play and to play against.
What is your experience? do you get bored by playing versus same decks or don't care?
"Hard counter problem" - many times the asnwer is just to play something that hard counters the deck to balance the meta, however this time:
it is not a problem with one deck, its 3 decks from one class so it is hard to counter both zoo and even lock in the same time, unless...
unless you play Warlock which
I am also afraid that potential zoo nerf will take us to the dark times of Druidstone. What do you guys think? What will happen - will meta get balanced in a natural way (which class will balance it? where is potential for that?) or we will see nerf to Warlock just because of the class frequency? What about druid then tho?
Well the problem is druid and combo decks. I mean you can play big spell mage ,warrior and any hard control deck and crush zoo but you will get rekt by any combo decks. Control Warlock and Evenlock are so good because they can counter both zoo and combo decks. They should make the demonic project a battlecry of neutral minion. Honestly i do not know what team 5 was thinking giving so many combo decks so much power but no way to interact with them. :(
I think the meta will balance out and warlock will lose popularity. Floop Variant Druids wont be insane as long as we have zoo or agro decks in the met, odd rogue still exists btw.
Still less than the amount of shamans in the shamanstone era. At least there's 5 different kinds of viable warlocks out there. If you want to take advantage of this, queue up an odd rogue :)
Warlock is just the most flexible class right now. It's arguably the best aggro deck, and control warlock is great against both aggro and combo, something that no other control deck can do in standard.
Don't blame the playerbase, blame Blizzard for giving the only anti-combo card to warlock.
In the beginning of a new expansion zoolock is always very prevalent. You either just started out, or are too stubborn to notice this. Just give it time and it will change. Like every expansion.
We need more neutral anti-combo tech cards. Gotta admit I'm getting pretty damn bored facing warlock and druid in 80% of games. Haven't seen a warrior or rogue in 3 days now.
It's the meta responding to a new expansion (zoo warlock is still relatively the same and competitive meaning players who did not drop any money can climb easily) and a ton of combo centric decks. Control is punished by nearly everything except aggro. Good job. Keep spamming your shitty mecha'thun decks and you will be met in kind with decks that hit you in the face. It might balance out eventually but I expect aggro to be king of ladder all expansion thanks to combo decks just absolutely slaugtering control.
Control lock is the only control deck on ladder worth playing, and it just so happens that warlock also has the best aggro deck on ladder. Warlock and druid meta. Grats guys.

I mean you say that, but it isn't stopping players from playing decks that can only cheese against control. There have been lots of druid threads popping up on this very site recently that basically say "HELP I CAN BEAT EVERYTHING BUT ZOO", then the other half have been "zoo makes up half the meta blargagag!!"
Do you think that maybe there is some correlation between playing combo decks that bully control, and running into a ladder that is full of combo hate? Yes, Blizzard did fail in helping control fight combo and yes it is a big part of the problem, but the other part is the people on ladder playing decks that bully the cure to their problem. Pot meet kettle. You want a diverse meta? Play diverse decks.

They were thinking of making a diverse meta, the problem is people are idiots and don't have infinite money. I think the idea was that if people were running into lots of combo, warlock would come out and deal with it therefore giving other classes a chance to breathe. The problem is combo players don't change their decks because they are stupid or can't afford it and thus the problem continues on.
Let me just say, it is very ironic to see druid players on this very site salty that they can beat everything but warlock and acting like they are the ones who are oppressed. Maybe stop and consider the idea that you are problem next time you que up a combo deck.
rank4-rank1 in 40 games - 35% druids, 22% warlocks for me. Quite good and diverse. And by the way zoo warlocks strangely banished from the ladder, I have seen very few for the past 2 days. Thats very strange..
I wish they kept Dirty Rat as a card in the classic set. That tech choice would help to keep combo in check. Giving the "dirty rat" disruption effect to one class is not effective for the health of the game.
Control archetypes are going to struggle and become obsolete (other than Warlock) if the combo decks are not countered.

The cynic in me says it's because they're all legend already.

^ This.
Why they do that? If the (horrible) plan is just one class be able to counter combo decks why the f....... warlock? For the class already have the best aggro deck, the best basic hero power, the best DK, the best healing and the best (and cheap) mass removals? Why not priest or shaman or mage have tools to disrupt combo decks?
Warlocks gotta go. Druids are absurdly overpowered but aside from people teching in Mossy Horror but no class is shaping the meta right now like warlocks are with Zoo on the Tier 1 aggro side and Control on the Tier 1 neckbeard side.
Fine, we can have another warlock expansion but I hope that once the KoFT cards roll off they can get nuked into oblivion for a season.

I Bought All The Funnel Cakes
And yea i Know what you mean. Warlocks are every second game from 5>

Here's how you can magically make that number decrease to like 10%
Make a deck that meant to crush aggro and BOOM, you'll suddenly only queue into control decks!
It's the meta responding to a new expansion (zoo warlock is still relatively the same and competitive meaning players who did not drop any money can climb easily) and a ton of combo centric decks. I was running maly druid last night and it feels like cheating. Even against zoolock

I played at least 40 games today and literally HAVEN'T played against any zoo.
Of course Warlock is going to be super popular when tons are playing OTK decks and only Warlock was given an anti OTK card this expansion
