Well, I actually got myself into Hearthstone heh. I saw it, was interested in playing a new card game, and went for it. I have had a soft-spot for Blizzard games for a long time, so a TCG from them was an easy sell. In college I played Magic the Gathering with my friends, but I didn't actually own any cards of my own; MtG is expensive as all get-out to get into from scratch, and I definitely didn't have the money for that D:
I quit Hearthstone shortly after The Grand Tournament was released. Wasn't really any fault of the game: I was extremely depressed at the time, and my F2P self losing to others quite often finally became too much. I "recently" returned (shortly after Un'goro's release), and I am enjoying the game far more than last time. It really helps that I learned an IRL friend plays the game, and over the last month I got three of my family members into it :) It doubly helps that Un'goro quickly became one of my favorite expansions ever.
Behold, foolish interlopers! I am commanding this mortal to spread the will of the Scourge throughout the interwebs, encouraging you to seek out me, Archlich Kel'Thuzad! Now coming to you as the tenth class of Hearthstone!
I am a finalist in this Class Creation Competition, so if you could give it a look I would be greatly appreciative <3
I got into it really as soon as it released. I was an uber noob at card games at the time, but playing for 3 years now makes me near great at the game. I taught so many friends how to play though.
I really was looking forward to KFT >_> I bought the preorder, but I acquired next-to-nothing I wanted - Arfus was the only saving grace. Shadowreaper Anduin was my free DK, which is fine but not what I was most hoping for. I was (and still am) thoroughly disappointed. I made a thread this afternoon on the board looking for help on how to move forward, so stun-locked I am by my card opening failure.
That said, this will (hopefully) be a fleeting feeling, because I still rather enjoy what KFT has to offer.

While I was taking a break from wow during mop playing tera I wasn't really paying attention to any blizzard stuff so I first heard about it when a guildie gave me a beta key for it( he had hundreds as apparently some free magazine had beta keys in it and so he had taken all of them), think it was in november or so I got into it
I've been a Blizzard fan ever since I was little and thought Hearthstone looked interesting but was on the fence about it. My partner convinced me to try it a bit before Naxx launched and I've been playing it ever since (whereas she stopped about a month later, wasn't her thing).
started uni and had to stop playing wow because it was too much of a time sink and my roommate was playing the beta invite and he got me into it because he knew i liked the wow lore and i used it as like a methadone for wow
a couple friends from work got me into Hearthstone. Well really teaching me how to play.

I googled card games and got myself into it.
I finally got a phone strong enough to run the game shortly after Mean Streets of Gadgetzan was released.
As a PC game, it felt shallow to me, but as a mobile game, it felt amazing. It was hard breaking through the entry barrier, but I enjoyed myself.
Are you looking forward to the new expansion?

Wowhobbs got me hooked when he played his decks in the whispers of the old gods.I am still inspired by him
My sister has played WoW for years, and got into the beta. She showed it to me and I've played since around the time Naxx was released.
Dota2 youtube channel called Dotacinema (Weplaystuff), the editor Neil got so salty that I was "must check the game" and got hooked, no regrets.
