yes, it's amazing. it's not quite OTK as it can only do 25 damage, but it's awesome.
I am running this version currently, but it's still a WIP. you can do it a lot cheaper. I'm going to test it VS the typical mistress of mixtures/bloodmage thalnos version and see what works better. the version I run was originally made by disguised toast, although I am going to tweak it once I get on tonight and play around with it.
Its combo brtween doomguard cube umbra and dark pact. Resummon 4 doomguard in a turn. It s more like a ttk
Oh, ok ... still, that doesnt seem super consistent. But it does sound fun :)
it's surprisingly good as you don't need the exact combo to win all the time. you can win without it. there are more control/combo hybrid's starting to surface as well like the one I linked in the comment above. It's probably my favourite deck right now, and also a good use for my favourite card art from ungoro Spiritsinger Umbra as well... so glad i get to use this card after it was voted dirt tier and never going to be any good. always love it when a bad card gets new life when new cards are released.
what about your ''oakheart'' deck ? which one is better? i think oakheart lock great vs aggro but not enought win condition vs control.
it's really good, but slow and you can get hugely screwed by RNG though (like if you end up not drawing any board removal in time, or don't get a taunt in time you can get faced to death pretty fast). it is good though. I'd put in corridor creepers as well instead of the stonehill defenders though.
once you have all the main pieces though, you can build multiple warlock decks, so it's cool
PS: it is actually pretty good VS. control as you have time to finish your seals. TBH I think it's better VS. control than it is VS. aggro. There are loads of slightly different versions though so if you have the key cards you can play around with what works VS.s the current meta shape.
I just feel control decks to be very slow though and not the best for racing to high ranks. I like to play fast decks for climbing and then start playing control once I'm at higher ranks.
I'm starting to think that maybe it's detrimental to play the skull or possessed lackies until you are getting close to turn ten and have the combo in hand as if you pull your doomguards early, you ruin the combo. I have not played the deck yet as have been busy doing some research on meta tonight as i have a tournament coming up next week.
If anyone has played the deck and has any advice, I'm all ears. I think I will be taking doomcube as one of my 3 decks. I know pirate warrior will another and I would have taken dragon priest as my 3rd if I had the deck. I think I'll take a controlock as my 3rd, probably the rin/oakheart version, but not sure on tech choices yet.
anyway, I'm derailing a little here..... what i'm interested in knowing really is whether it has messed people up much by playing the skull on turn 5 and or possessed lackies early and pulling both doomguards too early and loosing any kind of possible combo.
This is why I thought a control hybrid would be best in order to stall out till turn 10+ and only playing skull or lackies close to when you're ready to do the combo.
I know this deck is becoming more popular so any advice would be greatly apreciated.
PS: @OP, sorry for the thread hijack, but I don't want to post another thread on this stuff as you have one running already.
I've played about 20 games with an Umbria Lock and found it overall just weaker than a Nzoth lock.
A) It's not as consistently good against Aggro.
B) The combo is so insanely hard to pull off. I'll leave it to the RNG gods. Also, the Cube is pretty messed up; it DOESN'T count previous eats when eating another cube, which has worked with other similar mechanics in the past. So if you eat a cube you get 2 generic cubes back. Really lame.
C) Skull is HARD anti-synergy with Rin. It makes no sense to have them in the same deck. Got that 10/10 demon with amazing battlecry? No battle-cry for you!

I was thinking of adding leeroy as a back up for some damage later if the combo goes to shit. I mean you can always cube the leeroy, although you can't do it all in one turn, it might give you the extra bit of damage neede to win!? I can see that the main combo won't ever work 100% of the time as it's a combo deck and that's generally how combo decks go. At the same time though the deck seems like a ton of fun to play and you don't really need the full combo to win all the time.
Maybe we need to start looking at alt win conditions for the deck in case we cannot get the combo off or something!? I have a slightly different version to most of the ones I've seen, but I'm yet to actually play it yet as I just built it earlier.
TBH I just thought the deck looks like a ton of fun. I have a bunch of other decks that are probably more consistent this expansion, and as i crafted the weapon to try out I just thought making this deck would be a good way to use it as it doesn't really work with Rin.
anyway, I hope you get some more luck with the deck... in hindsight though, maybe I should have just crafted n'zoth instead and made that version of the control lock... I'll probably craft n'zoth next though to try that out.
CubeCombo warlock is probably the newest archetype in heartstone, but one that is showing a lot of promise, even being unrefined. I would personally wait a week or so to see if it is the real deal, or just a weaker version of less gimmicky warlock builds.

i miss 2800 dust for this deck.(umbra,2 cube,1 voidlord and 4 rare)
i dont wanna wait anymore. i hate priest and love control decks. so i wanna play lock. i love this deck but not sure,is it meta or not?
i have 3000 dust
Ehm, thats an OTK deck? Just cause u destroy their deck, doesnt mean u kill em :o
But if u want to play that, sure go for it, tho i wouldnt say its the best of the decks right now.

If you got the wallet or dust handy by all means it's a good and fun deck.
