Hmm, the decklist isn't loading for me (getting a server error) but I agree, control is pretty strong right now. As for priest, I haven't run into a priest on ladder in my last 15 games, so it's not like they're running amok like they were even a week ago. Control Warlock seems like a good meta choice.
One good tool Control Warlock has against Priest in the past is Lord Jaraxxus. I don't think it would be good against Razakus because they can machine-gun you out before you overwhelm them with endless 6/6s, so Jaraxxus is probably out as something to help against the Priest matchup. Maybe we just accept that the deck doesn't do well against Razakus?
As a warlock main no is not.The deck needs three times the skill and experience to achieve the same thing that the meta decks do without wasting a second to think. You can ladder with it for sure.I mean i reached legend this season with krullock lol.Does it mean that deck is underastimated?Controllock is there for hipster like us who don't like braindead decks but is far from underestimated.
Definitely underrated, however, it can get swept by an agro deck curving out or raza priest hitting on curve. I played this deck from r17-r5 this month and the grind to r5 felt more like a grind to legend.
Also, Exodus is a near instant lose unless your teching specifically against it.
That said I ended up teching 2* Saronite Chain Gang and 2* Bonemare. This really helped against all the aggressive decks on ladder and also helped make the deck more aggressive against Raza Priest. The trade off is a strictly worse control mirror match. The meta right now is in constant rotation day to day and it's hard to tech for it in general and it's why control lock can really suffer.
Overall control lock is super fun IMO and interesting to play and rewarding when played well. You just need tough skin to handle the blowouts you can receive and not get tilted.

I edited , you can now go to the deck . Kolento is a good player . And Pavel .

For fun i mean , i am a bit tired of playing aggro decks . So Control Warlock is my way to go for now . :p
I play alot of control warlock. It's realy good I added a alexstraza in my list. It helps the priest matchup by getting a good guldan and then alexing
I have Lich King as a big drop cause it 's helpful when you battle against those aggro decks . But it almost is helpless against Priest lol .
Would you say Handlock or Control is better in this meta? If you can drop an early mountain giant vs priest or jade , you can deal big damage.
I would argue full control is better against the majority of ladder opponents. However, it really depends on the tech choices in your deck and what you're facing the most. You could also build a deck around both control and handlock, Twilight Drake is a common choice with all the priests floating around, but gets beat easily with silence or late game can be a really awkward, weak or game losing card to play.
Handlock is going to be strong against priests and druids but it could come down to preference and gives more early push, however, against aggressive agro decks by the time you make you're T4 powerplay you could be being put on lethal from tapping and ignoring the board.
Both variants have merit and drawbacks as the deck builders and player you really have to find what works best for you and the current meta your experiencing.
Not really. Handlock/Control warlock is a deck that requires high skill cap. One of those decks where a good player will have 60% winrate with it, while a bad player 40% (More related to handlock probably). And just because Kolento or Stancifka reached legend with it on day 15 in the season it doesn't mean it is good. Good players can reach legend with pretty much everything sooner or later. The problem is 2 dominant meta decks in Jade Druid and Razakus Priest. They are quite unfavoured, hence such a deck can't really exist in the meta, however the deck is pretty strong against almost everything else and that's the reason the deck saw tournament play, where you could ban either Jade or Razakus. But when the deck has half of the meta in quite unfavourable matchups, its hard to exist in the meta. You know why OTK Dragon Priest exists in the meta? Because it is favoured against Jade and Razakus, but it is utter crap against everything else, yet it still sees play, especially in the top 100 ranks where half if not more decks are Jade Druids, so if you see Mitsuhide reach top 2 with it, it doesn't really mean it is a good deck to rank on your ranks. So expect Handlock/Control lock to become a meta deck after rotation happens, when these stupidly designed decks rotate out.
Because of a lot of strong board clear Control Warlock has solid matchup vs other boar centric decks (Jade included) But vs other control decks, thís deck almost have no favourable matchup in my experience. Your DK board can be wipe with ease and after that you have to use your hero power to put your opponent on the clock but if they still have a lot of value left, you will be overrun soon. Control lock was strong with infinite value late game because of the power of Jarraxus but with so much Priest and Mage this card is now unplayable . I think we have to wait until the next expansion to see what in store for the class
The deck is weak vs Highlander Priest, Jade Druid (unless you tech heavy vs them, just one card don't solve the problem) and Exodia mage (same as druid) but don't have a free win vs aggro/tempo decks.
Have the same weakness mage control have but, in my experience a least, mage have more reliable control tools and is more easy to win vs agressive decks but still lose for the same decks as warlock control.
I easily beat a control warlock with my shaman deck filled with elementals for a daily quest. If it can't beat a joke daily quest deck than it has no business in the upper tiers.

Oh wow , i did not saw your post . Exactly what my experience is .
It was a bit scary when you run against those aggro , but with decent draw , you will still be safe . Kolento's deck is well made against those aggressive deck , like it has Mistress of Mixtures , Tainted Zealot + Defile , Happy Ghoul , The Lich King , without these cards you may get a hard time , and also Exodia Mage is a match you don't want to see .

The funny thing is i mostly win against Jade Druid if i draw Skulking Geist on time , and usually i does ( i don't know why ) , Then they run out of resources really quick and concede . If i don't draw Skulking Geist And Bloodreaver Gul'dan , i could lose .
I agree Jade Druid and Razakus Priest are not well- designed deck And i add exodia mage to your list , it is not fun to play against those decks and it should be fixed .. soon .
I have been playing a lot of control warlock recently, and in my experience it's really strong. However, after going on a losing streak against jade druids and raza priests I decided it was time to back to midrange hunter. FeelsBadMan. When in doubt, SMOrc it out. Maybe I'll go back to conrol warlock next season, but It looks like I wont be hitting legend in the next few days.

Here is my thought , although Control Warlock 're having trouble beating Raza Priest , it can beat anything else !
I play this deck from Kolento :
http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/956098-kolentos-bloodreaver-guldan-s43-legend-push
He used it to climb in Legend , so it's something you would consider .
Also is saw Stancifka using a different version here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NUYMmuRHwhw&t=322s
So it should not be considered bad .
In my point of view , your choice of the deck and your skill is important .
I think it's rank 3 , below Jade and Raza Priest since it can destroy Rogue if he don't draw Prince on turn 2 .

Do you have the link for the stream where Kolento plays with that deck? got really interested on it
