Hi guys I'm Spark and Shaman is one of my favorite classes, I just love the overload cards and the general gameplay of this class. I feel that it is pretty good against many situations and you often have good answers to your opponents play.
This is a Midrange deck, an archetype that I find pretty effective to climb so ladder because of its versatility. This one has a really good control on the board thanks to all the Shaman spells as well as a good finishing burst potential with Al'Akir the Windlord or Doomhammer combined with Rockbiter Weapon or Flametongue Totem in case of Al'Akir. I do not run the spell Windfury as those gives more consistancy to the deck when it comes to controlling the board. It is pretty effective against other Midrange decks, especially Druid, and is pretty painful for many aggro decks with the good draws ;) Be careful about Hunters and Warrior as they are your primaries counters ^^
I'm rank 5 atm after only one day of laddering, but not using only this deck (he still does really fine as long as you don't run into many hunters and warriors) Yeah, I think that switching out a Defender of Argus for a Tech Card is really fine ;) Windspeaker is kinda cool, a bit less consistent but can do some great job ^^
As you are running a Stormforged Axe for early removal and playing a Windspeaker for finishing burst, the Doomhammer is not necessary anymore indeed ;) But the thing I don't really like about Windspeaker is that it combos a bit badly with Leeroy Jenkins because of the mana cost, so I generally prefer the spell Windfury. In your case, that should work as your not relying only on that combo to win the game, so yeah why not ;) I'm not really a big fan of dropping the last Defender of Argus tho, Argent Squire is here to compensate the lack of Stormforged Axe in my deck so maybe try to remove one of those instead ;) And I would even drop the second one to throw in a Wild Pyromancer.
That way, you don't ruin your curve and keep some early board control while getting a spike in burst power (I still find it a bit less reliable than Doomhammer/Al'Akir but that's up to you) =)
Yeah those are really strong replacements. I was wondering about switching out an Argus for Wild Pyromancer, and even a Mana Tide for Gadgetzan, but I guess those tweaks are just personnal preference ^^ I would throw in a second pyromancer instead of Kobold to replace Bloodmage as I find it more useful in general ;)
Yep that's it, the healing totem is really necessary for Feral Spirit when having a Wild Pyromancer ^^ But I guess if your only spell is Feral Spirit, Kobold Geomancer is not going to help you clean the board either =P
Yeah i like it, this is a solid Windfury deck overall ;) The only change that I would made is switching out a Stormforged Axe for a Wild Pyromancer as having 2 in your hand would be bad and Wild Pyromancer allow for some versatile plays ^^
Gz on your mental strenght for playing shaman, i just get frustrated so bad when paired against hunter that i don't play shaman at all in the last months
I have about 55% with it against hunters, all about having the right cards for the burst at the end. Otherwise it is terrible against control warriors.
I finally found the key to beat hunters after playing my deck a bunch today (getting from rank 5 to 4) : have no fear and pressure them My addition of Pyromancer helped and yes you sometimes need that final Doomhammer + Rockbiter or something for the final burst ^^ Just play their games by rushing them down and the match up is a lot more tighed =) I also beat some warriors today with it, again Doomhammer MVP =P
Yeah that's what I used to do, but it lacked some punch vs aggro if not drawing Flametongue and was not useful against control so i switched for Pyromancer and it seems to work out quite nicely.
Yeah Ganja, Faceless is decent. It is really helpful against control, but not particularly useful against aggro, you may as well just want to add in a Gadgetzan or Argent Commander ;)
All in all a very solid shaman deck, I would only wonder about the 2 Mana Tides, that seems to be overkill to me. Wouldn't you be better off with an auctioneer instead of the 2nd Mana Tide? It basically does the same but is a stronger presence on the board.
Forgot to mention I am currently rank 6 and play exclusively Shaman which is starting to be pretty rough.

Yeah totally agree on the Lava Burst versus Handlock, like I explained in the deck write up ;)
As for the Mana Tide, I tried out differents things but I really felt that Gadgetzan was too slow against aggro decks. That is basically how I read Mana Tide Totem : - Versus Aggro : " Heals 3 to your hero, draw a card " Not that bad compared to a card that you won't be able to play (Gadgetzan) - Versus Control : " Your opponent discards a card, draw a card " As I said in the write up gadgetzan is a bit better against Control Most of the time, Mana Tide helps tempoing one more turn to draw that Ligthing Storm (vs Aggro) or that Hex (vs Control) that I really need. Moreover they come earlier and can help trading with Flametongue Totem. So yeah, that's pretty much the reasoning, but I really like Gadgetzan too ;) I find those Azure Drake enough tho ^^
Interesting that you mentionned Knife Juggler, because I'm going to try those tonight (maybe switching out a Pyromancer and a Mana Tide) to give a little bit more pressure to the deck. Not sure if they are a really huge addition tho so we'll see how it goes ;)
would switch The Black Knight for it. I mean the 2x Bananas are really mad, but coin T2 King Mukla or in general a King Mukla on a clear board (should not be the problem as shaman) can be a nice dmg dealer, especially with Windfury?
The thing with King Mukla in Shaman is that you are often pressured early because of the slow nature of Shaman start. So i don't feel him too good for this class specificaly, it just adds to the numerous Drop 3 that you want to play, and the only time when he would be better is on an empty board (which will be very rare). But maybe give it a try and keep inform of the result ;) King Mukla in general is good in Tempo Rogue cause they can clear those early board, in Paladin Aggro because of Divine Favor (with the bananas it's nuts) or in Hunter for its beasts synergies. The rest of the classes make difficult and very situational use of this card ^^

Here are some cards that could find use in the deck with some adjustments (especially if you don't own Al'Akir the Windlord and Doomhammer) : Argent Squire, Windfury, Gadgetzan Auctioneer, Argent Commander
I highly recommand to check the writeup that I made for the deck to understand my choices.
Don't forget to rate it up if you liked and don't hesitate to post on this thread or in the comment section of the deck if you have any question ;)

In short, I would try :
- 2x Argent Squire
- 1x Defender of Argus
- 1x Doomhammer
+ 1 Wild Pyromancer
+ 1 Stormforged Axe
+ 1 Windspeaker
+ 1 Leeroy Jenkins
That way, you don't ruin your curve and keep some early board control while getting a spike in burst power (I still find it a bit less reliable than Doomhammer/Al'Akir but that's up to you) =)

Been playing a deck almost the same. Have managed to get up to level 5 so far.
Adjustments are:
- 1 Mana Tide Totem --> + 1 Wild Pyromancer (works surprisingly well when you have no AOE for hunter, or just need one more spell damage)
- 1 Bloodmage Thalnos --> + 1 Kobold Geomancer (don't have the card so substitute)
- 1 Cairne Bloodhoof --> + 1 Gadgetzan Auctioneer (with one less Mana Tide Totem and loads of spells the Auctioneer can secure late game draws)
Keep grindin' everyday

Only issue there is if your only spell is Feral Spirit. The reduced health can be a pain, but the right totem can change that.

Yeah I actually don't play my shaman too much atm because of hunters and warriors ^^ But i still use it from time to time

Hey, i don't have Cairne.
Do u think Faceless is a good replacement?
Sure, I personally run smaller Argent Squires for the rush decks that are in the meta these days:
Also it synergies with the Defender of Argus very well.

I play a very similar deck and switch it around a lot. It is probably the reason I like Shaman the most.
I switch around Lava Burst , Knife Juggler , Acidic Swamp Ooze . Depending on what I face in the last 3-5 games. Having a lava Burst on top of the 2 Hex's and Earth Shock's can be game breaking against Handlock.
All in all a very solid shaman deck, I would only wonder about the 2 Mana Tides, that seems to be overkill to me. Wouldn't you be better off with an auctioneer instead of the 2nd Mana Tide? It basically does the same but is a stronger presence on the board.

So did you get to legend with this deck?
PS: I upvoted this deck because some idiot downrated it, and I think its a pretty good build.

Thanks man =) I'm not Legend yet as I can't play all day long sadly =( But I'm actually Rank 4 so it will come eventually ^^
