So I saw the new Hemet card and realized that it would be perfect for Ancestor's Call OTK Shaman. Essentially, all your cards except Emperor, Maly, Ancestor's Call and maybe The Curator are 3 mana or less so once you have enough burn, you can play Hemet and jump straight to your win condition. What do you OTK'ers think about this? I've been running variations of OTK Shaman since Ancestor's Call first came out and Hemet, Jungle Hunter seems like a pretty legit card to me.
Nice idea. How would you play this? Wait until you have enough spells for lethal than play Hemet so you would pull out your maly/emperor/curator quicker?
Doesn't playing Hemet destroy all your burn spells? So if you ever played him you would lose the cards that make malygos worth playing to begin with.
Read the card text more carefully. It destroys all cards that cost 3 or less in your deck. Once you have enough burn in your hand, play Hemet to ensure that you draw Malygos.

Can you read? He wrote when you HAVE enough burn in hand you play Hemet, so you get to Malygos and Emperor faster if you haven't drawn them by the time you play him.

<insertKappa> What made you think it was you OTK-ing them? Concede button kills you in one turn. <insertKappa>
Sarcasm aside, the reason you include Hemet, Jungle Hunter is to be able to draw the cards you need to complete the combo more effectively, as once you will have lethal with Malygos, the rest of the burn cards are getting in the way.

Wants to play Captain Cookie Druid because why not?
Yeah, it looks like OP is trying to assemble enough burn in his hand before playing Hemet. You only need 4 or 5 spells to be able to do 30+ damage with Malygos but those cards are dead until you assemble Ancestor's Call/Thaurissan and Malygos. Sometimes you just lose because you didn't draw your combo pieces in time. Hemet allows you to immediately set up lethal in the next couple of turns because the only cards remaining in your deck will be the ones that enable your damage spells to kill the opponent.
You're on to something, OP. This could actually be completely insane! Losing Azure Drakes, Barnes and Halazeal might be a problem though. Those cards really pull a lot of weight. Maybe there is a way to keep them, without making Hemet too unreliable.
Actually a really cool idea! The only problem I see is you telegraph a lot when you play hemet. Your opponent is likely going to play very defensively. So, you might need to keep more burn than normal to compensate for that. I'd suggest running 1 copy of alexstraza to make sure that you have enough reach instead of one frost shock.

We aren't losing Barnes or Hallazeal until the rotation next year. The loss of Lava Shock and Elemental Destruction is the big deal.

As is stated by others, this deck is primarily meant for Wild. The Ancestor's Call combo can only be done in Wild while reductions from Thaurissan are gone too. I guess you could maybe do some with Barnes to make it work in Standard but my plan is to build it so it's most successful in Wild. In terms of consistency, the deck wasn't terribly consistent to begin with but this card really ramps up the consistency. It's still going to have some issues as all OTK decks do but I'm looking forward to goofing around with it.

I think you misunderstood the comment (I did too initially). I think ReinVos meant that not including those cards would be a problem, not that they're rotating to wild (since my deck won't function in standard anyway). I've never run Azure Drakes in my OTK shaman but I did do Barnes and Hallazeal for awhile. Both of them may be worth keeping but my worry is that they slow the combo down if you draw them instead of Ancestor's Call with Malygos already in your hand. I say try it out when the expansion hits. I'll definitely try out different variations.

Good idea. I never used to run Frost Shock but I was afraid I wouldn't draw enough burn before Hemet so I included it. Including Alex lets you gather less burn before dropping Hemet as well so I may try that out too.

@ Ggjeed ; In your deck yes, the idea is to draw them first.

Seems Fun, but it's probably not very consistent....

Hilarious idea. Definitely going to try it out if I unpack him.
I may even craft him for this deck.
