Control Warriors are one of the most dominant decks in the game right now, and have been for the last few expansion/metas.
With my favorite class being Rogue, I've struggled greatly against them as of late, but the emergence of the Tess Quest Rogue archetype has given me hope. This morning, I had a 22 turn slugfest with a Control Warrior that ended with me dropping my 4th Tess Greymane and flooding my board with minions covered in Pharaoh's Blessing, while showering his side with a Blizzard. He threw me a "well played" and conceded, and I have to tell you, it was one of the most satisfying wins I've had in a while.
Beating a deck that you are heavily unfavored against is always a thrill. According to HS Replay, Quest Rogue only has a 40.6% chance against Control Warriors.
The RNG in your theft cards is HUGE in the matchup. I only got one useless card in this match, Deadly Arsenal was dead in my hand till the very end. Other than that, I drew (and stole) the nuts.
So.... do you have a story of an epic battle against a Control Warrior? If you do, share your tale.
I'm getting sick of seeing control warrior on the ladder :D
I did beat one last night with Quest Rogue. I only had to shadowstep my Tess twice. Kinda crazy that it takes that much when you think about it. It also helped that I got Cybertech Chip for some extra value.
If you hate control warriors and want to ruin their days, just play freeze mage
Edit: heh, I just realized ... after years of suppression, freeze mage now counters control warrior in 2019. Granted, giants are your fireballs now while you stall with freezes but I guess freeze mages in beta ran giants too
if you play thief rogue with tess and really want to destroy warrior just play togs scheme and you can destroy control warrior, i have a 13-1 record against it and the only loss was a random mech that pulled my tess from like 15 minions in my deck
Midrange hunter brings me great joy, since I beat control warrior more often than not with it. The lucky discovers are what get me (like 5 consecutive Frightened Flunky on turn 10+, because cards can still discover themselves even though it's a bad design logic).
Not really consistent at winning vs warrior, but I'm playing a janky and pretty greedy version of quest warlock against them. Elekk + Plot Twist to generate extra cards. Running 2 copies of the 9/6 Anubisath that adds 3/3 to minions in hand. Plot twist + Dollmaster or Betrug generates extra deathrattles and tempo. 4 of those triggering makes for a pretty good handbuff. In the end slamming a single 10/10 or higher minion per turn for ~10 turns in a row will run them out of removal. Pretty satisfying when it works :D

That's exactly how I got my big win this morning. I got the scheme in the opening hand, and when I finally dropped it on Tess I got 14 of her in my deck. After playing her for the 4th time, the Warrior had seen enough and conceded.
You like looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong games son of a b...? Then let see you die in agony and fatigue because I can play Elysiana and Shudder with my control shaman deck and you can only play Elysiana.
I was playing a Highlander Hunter one time and decided to play Wild Bloodstinger. I managed to pull out his Elysiana and kill it. Thanks to that, I managed to beat control warrior to fatigue with the remaining cards I had, such as Zul'jin.

It was a tight clutch.
I love this so much. Like, can't put it in to words. Exquisite.
Last night I beat one on turn 4 with priest another by turn 7 as priest. Killed another with tempo rogue, got a clutch sap off the myras let me push a lot of damage. And then I barely lost to one with a tempo warrior deck, too many taunts, and I got the wrong lackeys. 3/4 with 3 different decks. My best streak was the tempo warrior, I think people keep crazy things in mulligan vs CW.
Beat two of them with my quest warlock yesterday. Both games were 20+ minutes but worth it in the end because I won. Used rafaam with extra card generation to stuff my deck with random legendaries, ended up going to fatigue and being close but a randomly generated Tess Greymane ended up sealing the deal for me.

Warrior with 23 health and next turn lethal on board, me on zoolock with 3 health and 9 damage worth of tokens on the board. Tap down to 1 health to draw a grim rally, abusive sergeant, leeroy, grim rally, soulfire, cup of tea and a wank.
If you hit luna before Alex, Maly you can beat pretty much everything except a aggro deck which got you on one HP after turn 5 Keppo. Especially against Big Priest its pretty good unless the opponent do not Barnes out Ragnaros the Firelord.

I just f*ck every warrior in wild with my
Ressurect Priest can easily outvalue Control Warrior, games are very long but this matchup is Priest favoured.

Rage quitting: the best way to ensure your opponent knows they beat a giant baby.

Make them suffer with their own poison.

That's Incredible!
To quote your signature, that's incredible!
Not much a warrior can do about 5 Lucentbark
Control Warrior can never beat Highlander Quest mage with Elysiana. i got 100% WR against it.

How does the deck do against big priest? I'm considering to craft pocket galaxy just to play a similar combo deck but w/o kaly:( no dust.
As for the OP question, egg zoo does great, do play the diseased vulture but not the trash 3 mana 4/5 that damages you, the card is bad
The 1st step towards a better game is firing Mike Donais! We had enough of his "skillful" balances!
#FireMikeDonais

Kalec is not required though!
