I've noticed a lot more people whining about Miracle rogue recently since it's been the new flavor in the meta right now.would be a shame to see one of the most interesting and high skill-cap decks in the game get nerfed because people have to find a new deck to cry about every season.. Any thoughts on what might happen? I think if it DOES get nerfed they're going to do something very bad to the auctioneer..
My suggestion: Make the Auctioneer a 4/5, but have him deal 2 damage to himself whenever you cast a spell. That wouldn't completely eradicate Miracle strategies, but it would limit the Auctioneer to 3 cards unless you could heal him.
High skill cap? You literally just use removal until turn 5 or 6, play gadgetzan and a bunch of 0 cost cards until you draw your whole deck, and then triple leeroy....there is zero skill involved.

That's not a bad idea....but priest northshire combo OP lol :D
The idea of Auctioner taking 1 dmg with each spell is quite good. The priest could combo it, but... priests do not have 0 mana spells, and cant conceal.
Auctioner is not named hero so can't be Legend.
Actually priests do have a 0 mana spell - Silence. But I doubt you'll be seeing any Miracle Priests running low cost spells to combo with auctioneer. They can already get plenty of draw from an intelligently played CoH + Northshire Cleric.
That said, of all the ideas concerning the Auctioneer I think this is the most interesting. People have talked about limiting how many cards he can draw in a turn - if he damaged himself that would effectively accomplish this.

There's a lot more skill involved than you think.. Miracle rogue involves the most decision making out of any deck in the game.

And there is also CoH, which is even more useful. But taking dmg after card drawn is indeed interesting. There could be some conflict what if the last spell is shadowstep, but it could be solved.
The fun part is that this new Auctioneer could be still very nice comboed with Farseerer which already has place in MR. So it will be very soft nerf.
Great thoughts.
Looking at the recent Q/A it looks like the Miracle Rogue cards are going to be remaining the way they are for the time being. Then again, Blizzard kept saying the same thing for quite some time regarding the Face Hunter and then announced they were nerfing UTH.

I don't understand why auctioneer needs a nerf period. Not only would the nerf make it suck in other decks but blizz has already stated that they encourage the use of combo efficiency in the rogue deck. It's not like Miracle rogue is that big of an epidemic either.. It's a very inconsistent deck and not enough people play it efficiently enough to make it a problem in the meta unlike face hunter where a brainless idiot could pick that deck up and hit legend with it.
Miracle rogue has been in the game for a while now. More of them are popping up because of the UtH nerf which means more people are losing to them and as a result those people are going to whine about how "op" they think they are like every other deck they complain about which will lead to an inevitable nerf.
miracle a very good deck and it is very consistent, BUT it need skill to play or at least consentration...unlike the face no brain rush decks
It's not consistent. Miracle Rogue basically comes down to a coin flip; Do I have auctioneer? Do I have a Leeroy? If the answer is no to either, 9 times out of 10 you won't win.
you dont draw cards only with auctioneer and leeroy isnt the only finisher, you should play a few days with a miracle deck, then you will find out its weaknesses but carddraw isnt one of it.

LOL you think miracle rogue takes skill to play? Hahahahhaha.
People who whine about Rogue being "no skill" need to re evaluate how they perceive the game for their own benefit.
If you get the perfect draw, almost every deck is brainless.
You have to make very very careful decisions about what removal to use and when to soak damage, gadgetzan needs spells and if you blow them all by turn 5 removing things, its over. You also have to be cautious about when to dagger up early, when to poison, how you're gonna setup SI7 next turn or how to setup other combos. It requires a lot of careful planning.
Anyone who complains Rogue takes no skill to play simply can't admit they aren't as good at the game as they think. Man up and learn the matchup.
I lost to a lot of miracle rogue when it first started popping up all over the place. What did I do? Played as miracle rogue to understand the match better, helped tremendously. Now when I play as handlock or control warrior or whatever, I have a very intimate understanding of what he wants to play and what he probably has in hand by what his early drops are.
Miracle Rogue would probably be a lot less frustrating to play against if it didn't have the craziest and most unbalanced card draw in the game. Rogue has just too many spells that cost 0 - 2 mana.

Well what deck do you play exactly that constitutes a high-skill cap deck? No, let me guess.. You're probably some narcissistic idiot that sits around rank 15 and thinks "hearthstone is a joke."

I think they jjust need to add a cap to the card you can draw a turn with it (maybe 2 or 3). No other class really abuses it to that extent

Get gud scroob
As someone who's been using Miracle Rogue to grind their Rogue to 60, I myself think it to be a brainless deck.

Maybe playing the freeze mage contributes to you falling asleep.... ;)
i rather play vs miracle because some arena guys tend to let the candle burn every turn too. thats boring shit aswell!
