No matter wtf I do, I just cannot beat Freeze Mage on my Priest. They use Alex to beat me and there is nothing I can do. I would have to put SWD in my deck to kill off Doomsayer to even stand a chance, ( Tempo Priest ) but then my deck would be weak to the other classes.
Also, saving Holy Fire until after the Alexstrasza turn can buy you some time especially if you have board control already. You're in even better shape if Thoughtsteal nabs an Ice Block.
Yeah, Priests have a surprisingly difficult time against Freeze Mage. Priests don't have native burst potential, and despite being the healing class, their health gains are limited to the starting 30 life total, which Alexstrasza unconditionally reduces to 15. Also, there's very little that can stop a Mage with a full hand of burn cards in the late game when you're at 15 without armor.
Perhaps you could tech a Silence against Doomsayers. It's a strong choice against a lot of other match-ups as well, and is much more versatile than Shadow Word: Pain.

Wielder of Botsbane, The Slayer of That Which Has No Life.
I have always been 50/50 against freeze mage. But that was back then, and I used to run 2x holy fire and prophet velen ;P
If you need to tech against freeze mage, a few cards are: holy fire, crazed alchemist (insta kills doomsayer, also kills totems so good against shaman), shadow word pain, silence, the 3/3 for 3 that heals 3 damage (good with auchenai regardless, excellent card imho).
3 seasons in a row i did not see one freeze mage , in total like more than 400 games... i would not be worried about them very much..
This. Hearthstone isn't build that one deck can defeat everything. If you meet many freeze-mages in general, then like said above a few adjustements are necessary: 1 SW:P+1 Silence are necessary; against a freeze-mage Spellbreaker might be the best choice because they only can combo Doomsayer together with at least an aoe-freeze. If you are REALLY sure that you meet a looooot of freeze-mages on your way, even a Wailing Soul might be useful, althrough then you should really build a wailing-soul deck. But in general 1-2 SWP and/or Silences might be enough.

Miracle Rogue as well, although I've actually lost to Priest a few times with Handlock and Miracle Rogue, so might as well try.
