Hello, guys, I've been playing control priest lately and I found lots of success with it, almost reaching legend this month. But there is one thing holding me back. I see many odd warriors in the ladder and I just can't win against them. According to the deck tracker, the winrate is about 30%, but I see no way for me to win every third match. I have a friend who plays odd warrior a lot and I've lost all 7 matches I played vs him. He gets to 60 armor and basically wins in fatigue. Do you have any tips how to beat it? And what's the game plan I should stick to when playing versus these warrior decks?
What's your decklist? You have to play like an aggro with your control deck, you have to kill him before he stack to much armor. A way to win is also not playing too much against his aoe because in this match up as you say is clearly not in your favor and playing "risky" can be the only solution.
The only possible game plan is playing as aggressive as you can in order to always prevent him from having considerable quantities of armor: if you do so, he won't be able to use some of his best cards like Blade Flurry and Shield Slam.
Anyways, doing that won't guarantee you the win: your opponent must not draw nuts.
Based on my personal experience, it's more like a 90%-10% matchup if both players know what they're doing. It's just a match polarized by that damn Tank Up!
Yeah, but he won't improve his winrate without changing the deck. Odd Warrior is just a bad match up and Archbishop Benedictus is the only card that can significantly improve his winrate. But that's true, most other match ups will be more difficult.
That's the deck I use, I always sort of played safe, trying to bait his Reckless Flurry in the late game, now I will try to be as aggressive as possible, but the thing is that I just can't keep up after he brawls. Archbishop Benedictus might help me win, but it's as already said a dead card in any other matchup so I'm not too sure about adding it to my deck. Thank you for your tips.
Benedictus alone is almost an insta-win. Would help a lot tho knowing your decklist.
Not an insta win. Warrior can Faceless it and then Zola the copy.
In the specialist tournament format, you put Archbishop into your anti-control Control Priest deck. But on ladder, as others have pointed out, it is a dead card in many matchups.

Maybe Archbishop Benedictus as a tech card against warrior?

Benedictus is not a good idea except if he see a lot of warrior because in the other match up it s like a dead card in your hand.
