or is it just because it seems to do well against my odd rogue?
I can only find one tier list for wild for this month and it's from the first. There is no mention of a dragon Priest anywhere.
I love dragon synergy and used to play DP in constructed a few years back. would love to pick up the archetype again, but I'm missing about 6 epics (basically all the epics) for the list. I wouldn't mind crafting the cards, but I'd love some more info on the deck and how it fares across the board before committing.
Hopefully some of you guys are up to date on the wild meta and can smack me with the info stick.
No info here beyond the few matches I played in Wild ladder this month, but it sounds to me like some novelty imported or renewed from the current success in Standard.
I have met some here and there in the past, and if they can curve out well, it's a powerful and versatile deck, but I think it's fallen off-meta, while staying viable for some aficionados. Tbh, I can't see why it should turn competitive all of a sudden against class-competitors like Reno Priest or Big Cancerpriest in the meta.
But who knows, Wild meta is so crystallized that a real meta shakeup may need very long time to develop? What ranks are you playing at?

Tbh, I can't see why it should be much better than Reno Priest or Big Cancerpriest in the meta, and all of a sudden, but admittedly I haven't met any so far.
What ranks are you playing at?
I think because it's a relatively cheap deck is the only reason you'd play it over those 2 priest variants. (also good for people who want to play wild but don't have loads of wild cards)
I'm only in the teens, but I am watching control play it at high legend (level 22) on youtube and is doing well with it.
The dragon synergy in wild for priest is really strong and it's doing well against decks like odd rogue and even shaman because there is so many aoe.
You can play whatever win condition you want, divine spirit+inner fire, Alex + mind blast. I personnaly played a version with Princess Talanji this month, sure it's not the best but it's good enough for rank 5.

sounds good. is that alexstraza and mind blast yeah? I don't have alex yet. got malygos though.
would love to play dragons again, need to get some dust saved though to craft the epics as I can't open 4 of them by buying packs with gold.
ideally I should open kobolds packs and try and get the sorcerer, but I just got a double legendary kobolds pack so the chances of me getting good stuff is probably quite low.
I have tried Dragon Priest versions, and they are very strong vs face aggro but mediocre to bad vs everything else. The Kingsbane nerf should help a lot. The problem is infinite value, DKs and super explosive decks like Even shaman and Big priest.
This is uncharted territory, though. It is a curveball deck with no standard build. You can go with both keleseth, spiteful summoner, N'Zoth or some mix as starting buildarounds, and I have no idea what comes out on top!

Oh, and Vol'jin is good vs Even shaman!
thanks. I'm playing odd rogue myself and found this dragon priest to be one of my tougher match up's (although not as bad as odd warrior with that super collider) this is in wild though.
I'm currently working on Dragon priest as my next deck publication here on Hearthpwn. From the 20 or so games I've played so far it seems to be in a good state. My winrate is well over 50% (although I haven't done the exact calculation), althugh I am guessing it could flactuate depending on your build. A twitter friend of mine got to legend with dragon priest in November but he's build is somewhat different to my own.
I could probably give you more information once I've completed the 30 game minimum test standard I set for each deck. Overall everything looks favourable but I wouldn't call it a tier 1 deck by any stretch of the imagination.

Gunnolf - Yeah please do let us know. Would be interested to see your build.
Just played some games at rank 9 wild - fun deck. I had an overall positive win rate over 15 games but only just. That said, I made some big errors in the first few games which I might have otherwise won (i.e. better players would have a much better win rate I am sure).
Faced a big priest who had overwhelming board against me and though I lost, on my last turn I did 28 dmg putting him at 1 :P
And an entertaining game against Shudderwork in which I managed to win with a temporus.

nice.
I'm still missing 6 of the epics for the base deck so can't play for a while. hope it's still good when I can get the cards I need for it. I guess I can probably change out the guy who steals the attack as he doesn't seem essential. the drakes with the taunt though and the draw card seem very important.

Yeah sorry about the formatting of that - you quoted me while I was trying to fix it :P

it's fine.
do you play any rogue decks at all. I found a tesspionage deck that actually works. gotta be played in wild though, there's not enough support in standard mode for it.
I reckon I may craft the last couple of things for it and upload my own version once I've had a chance to tweak it for my own needs.
Be great to eventually get some proper use from tess espionage. I mean I have had a few good games in standard, but mostly you get ruined by refined ladder decks, usually aggro. (if it was control or combo these are the best games for espionage really. fast decks are pretty nasty to deal with)
I should have posted this in my rogue thread really though. ha ha.

Don't overestimate the deck though. Control is one of the best players at wild (despite his attitude sometimes lol) and he's gotten extremely high legend finishes with mediocre or worse decks before. If he's doing well with a deck that doesn't necessarily mean it's a good deck to use on ladder.
I believe he said that the deck isn't favored against rogues and maybe even shaman too, which are two of the decks you will encounter the most (excluding big priest).

if they draw dusk breaker at any point you just loose though. unless you have them in range of lethal with leeroy and cold blood you just can't come back from that. I have tried playing around it and they just save it for later till you commit.
I know it hinges on that 1 card, but they always get it. they have the chance to discover more copies as well, it's horrible. I have lost to every single dragon priest so far because they always get disk breaker for me.
like I said though, this doesn't mean it's an amazing deck, it just means it counters me pretty hard. if I cued into it with my espionage deck I'd probably win. well once I learn to play it properly. not won with the wild one yet, but that's mainly due to facing nothing but aggressive hunters and the deck just looses to aggro.
my idea is if I get to higher ranks and start facing blocks of control decks and stuff I can switch to espionage and counter them... I still gotta get good with the deck first though so need to practice with it.
if you want to do any friendly games let me know as it;s the best way fore me to really learn what the hell I should be doing. ha ha. it doesn't have that tempo pirate package which is meant to hold you off till you get your cards back from espionage. I think you;re meant to use the regular weapon with buffs sometimes to hold out till you have ammo for the weapon or something.. would be good if cloudy had vods as it's his deck, but he doesn't so I just gota work it out for myself.

Yeah duskbreaker destroys your pirates, but not your Hench clan thug though. That card will snowball out of control even when they have duskbreaker. Probably your #1 priority during mulligan versus priest if you're not seeing many big priests (otherwise cold blood is key).
Yeah sure, I don't mind. You can add me if you want. I only play during weekends though.

I've actually had better luck Vs. resurrect priests than the dragon ones. I guess I must just be getting pretty unlucky. I have gotten better with the deck now though I guess and I haven't seen any dragon priests in the last 2 days.
I am playing a Reno priest deck with dragons. It's not a sole dragon deck but the synergies are already quite strong with just a limited amount of dragons so I can imagine a pure dragon deck to do pretty ok.
