I've been pilotting this deck all the way up to rank 10 (Best I've gotten so far) and I'm wondering if there is any improvements to be made to it. I pilot it like a sort of Lyra/ Dragon Deck where I just out value my opponent. I can usually beat any deck that can't combo me to death. I've mostly lost to a completed Quest Rogue or a heavily aggressive deck that I couldn't clear their board.
I think that it's pretty refined but I'm wondering what I can change about it to make it better, and although it's expensive, it is fun to play with. (Although I doubt it's fun to play against with it's constant answers!)
Not running shadow word pains or book Wyrms seems really odd to me. Both synergize with this type of deck. They're usually pretty important vs most decks especially quest warrior.
2 mass dispels also seems a bit much. I'd also question running Alex when you're running Ysera. Both seems a bit greedy and Ysera is def the better in this deck. But she's only really useful in an out and out control vs control match which is generally a pretty low amount of matches. Just running Elise is usually enough in those matches. Rest seems good.
Mass Dispel should be one or zero copies, depending on the meta. I also question the reason for Alexstrasza, when does it matter to set the opponent's life to 15? Ysera seems a bit greedy as well since you already have Elise for the lategame. All of these cards are generally dead or very weak draws against most aggressive decks, and I expect that to be your toughest matchups.
I do think that you want Shadow Word: Pain since you run Lyra, plus it's fantastic with Radiant Elemental. Other weaknesses of this deck seems to be survival against decks that burn your face down, like Pirate Warrior or Mage, so I would try to fit in either Priest of the Feast, taunts or weapon removal to help with that.
Looking at your deck, if it was me, I would probably take out both mass dispels and replace them with Shadow Word: Pain, then probably take out alexstrasza for a book wyrm as I don't think alex is really needed and then like ophion said maybe even try and make room for at least 1 priest of the feast for the reasons he gave.

Rumors are carried by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots.
I've played Priest a lot, in every variant possible during this season: really funny expecially Miracle and Dragon.
Imho you're deck is a bit too greedy and with some not so usefull cards that take slots for something far better. Remove 2x Mass Dispel, [CARD]Alexstrasza[/CARD] and Greater Healing Potion in favor of 2x Shadow Word: Pain, 1x Book Wyrm and Priest of the Feast and/or Tar Creeper. This way you'll be lot more solid versus aggro decks and you'll not lose any value for the mid/late game, making it a lot more solid and consistent.
I would drop both dis-spells and both big dragons. Add 2 SW:P and a book wyrm.
Also crysalline oracle is a good one drop vs aggro for board presence and a card. At first i didnt like it but after running the deck with 2 of them in it, you have more options out of the gate vs pirate warrior and mid hunter.
With this set up the only match up that isnt a positive win rate for me is murloc pali.
Thanks for all the Replies! (Sorry I didn't respond sooner I wasn't paying attention to the site these last few days) Also this is a really, REALLY greedy deck. Probably too greedy to be consistent, but I was able to pilot it to rank 9. The only decks I consistently
I play two Mass Dispels is because there are a lot of silence able creatures that are ran in this meta, Murloc Paladin, Quest Warrior, Aggro or Midrange Hunter, and Aggro Druid. It can also be used against rogue and their Igneous Elemental bouncing shenanigans. Also there is the huge surprise factor behind silencing my opponents board as no one plays around such a greedy card.
I think I'll substitute Alexstrasza for a copy of Shadow Word: Pain or Book Wyrm to do better against aggro. I also hope that they nerf Quest Rogue's minions to be silencable.
I'm currently rank 3 with Dragon priest. Here are my suggestions:
-1 potion of madness -1 Greater healing potion -2 mass dispel
+1 Priest of the Feast +2 shadow word pain +1 weapon breaker (preferably Gluttonous Ooze)
I actually would put in 2x priest of the feast, and just get rid of Lyra, since dragon priest already have a ton of value from Netherspite, Elise & operatives. I'm also running a shadow madness in my dragon deck and I honestly believe it's a very underrated card, has helped me out in a lot of situations since players don't expect it.
Edit: wow I just noticed you're running Alex + Ysera.. that's pretty greedy.. I'd remove one of them.

For what profit is it to a man, if he gains the world and loses his own soul?
I have run somthing similar up to 7 so far.
