The aggro paladin with Call to Arms, is a tier 1 deck that is, right now, the perfect ladder choice. Fast, plays around clears and can snowball if unanswered. Now, if people just like a specific deck type for Paladin, because they prefer it for personal reasons, that's completely different thing. Midrange and Control Paladin aren't hot right now. Aggo is where the hotness is, and Paladin is up there.
Got to agree. The new standard recruit deck plays a lot like the (very strong) wild version that has been around for a while. By aggro standards, it's a fun deck too.
I think buffadin has a good chance of being a thing in the next rotation. Priest in it's current form is restricting a lot of cool decks.
The problem is that you need everything explicit to understand the discussion. The guy who started the topic already said that murlocadin is an exception, still, you guys don't read the discussion and come here just to vomit "you are wrong, end of discussion".
This is not a critical reasoning discussion, so if you don't have anything to add, don't bother replying.
I find it funny when people come here disagreeing, obviously they are not paladin main and only play murlocadin to climb the ladder.
I have 1300+ wins with paladin, and my second most played class is druid (700 wins).
I totally agree with what you said, paladin is a joke. The only moment it had a competitive deck was after un'goro's release, a control paladin.
That comment is so logically self-inconsistent I'm having difficulty typing a good reply to it.
People have high win rates with Murloc Paladin. It's a competitive deck. How do you draw the conclusion from that that its players are non-Paladin mains, and how does that imply the deck can't be considered competitive?

The issue is that your basis for the argument is the fact that "Paladin is trash". Paladin isn't trash, its the type of paladin you want to play that's trash. Should they expand the range of paladins arsenal and allow for multiple decks? Yeah, they should, but having 1 deck that works in the meta is more then we can say for many of the classes in past expansions. Paladin may not be where you want it, but it isn't trash, and you cant just make the counterargument invalid by addressing it
I've just get smashed by a quest paladin... You should at least learn to wait a few day after the expansion and try out the new cards, before assuming they are trash...

An exeption, in a game where most of the classes have 1 viable deck per meta (if they have it), is more than enough to tell him that he is wrong. Exceptions counts!

What is the problem with you?
My point is clear: except for murlocadin, paladin is bad. What could be done to change that?
If you're going to pick the words I chose to change the topic ("my logic is better than yours") let me know, cause I am not here for this.
Ok, are we playing the same game right now? Paladin has been one of the top decks with the new expansion, call to arms is an amazing card for both control and aggro. Datareaper live currently has paladin as the highest winrate class at all ranks. I'd hardly call that rock bottom...
I'm already happy when HS doesn't get flooded with Aggro Pala based on the new Call to Arms, I think it's okay when the class continues with only one tier 1 deck.
Admittedly, paladin was never in a spot where he was dominating against everyone (except secret paladin) but he was never in a bad spot either, he had always a deck or two in the first or second tiers, maybe you can argue that in KofT he was at his worst, but he certainly wasn't the worst of all classes.
When Call to arms and legendary weapon was revealed I was pretty sure aggro paladin was going to be the next Raza priest, so far in KaC aggro pally seems really fucking good, and there doesn't seem to be anything that really fucks him up, so I'm holding on to my prediction.
Paladin was never "not viable" and I don't think he will ever be. I think the current worst class is Shaman, evolve was at most in tier 2 in KofT and that was the highest tier Shaman. Now evolve shaman just got screwed over with the new expansion thanks to all the understatted minions and not getting any OP cards. Sure he got some elementals but the elemental package is not good enough to begin with. So far I have only find use for Shaman with creating more jades with murmuring elemental and pray for good evolves (which occurs less than mediocre evolves now)
Whether it is fun to play paladin or not depends on person, but if it was not fun for you, you probably wouldn't have played 2000+ games with him in the first place
I think the OP's problem, and the problem of many other pally mains such as myself, is that the only viable Paladin deck of the past two years not really a paladin deck, it's a murloc deck with some Paladin support cards. None of the strengths paladin is *supposed* to have are ever viable. Paladin as a class is full of cards relating to spamming and buffing dudes, keeping minions on the board with divine shield, and healing. Every set we get more cards related to these core parts of the class, but there has not been a deck to ever succeed with the core components (in standard at least, wild dude pally is pretty good). The only good deck with Pally cards in years was based around one broken card, MC, and deck half full of otherwise useless secrets.
Meanwhile classes like Rogue, Druid, mage, priest and warlock are seeing great success with decks that are built around their core identities.
I will say that Warrior has similar issues in that its only real success of late has been pirate warrior (maybe a little taunt), and it has not had success in while with damage or armor decks. Shaman is coming off a high, and since the loss of some key overload and totem cards last year, has started to lose its identity in favor of the evolve gimmick. And hunter has been mid-tier for ever now.
I sympathize with OP and I think his rant is pretty clear that he feels let down that Ctrl Pal is no longer really viable which I 100% agree with, I loved ctrl pally it's what I got my 500 pally wins with mainly and they haven't supported it for years, the last pseudo board clear was Enter the coliseum, every other controlish class has received multiple removal/boardwipes or tools at least once a cycle.
Meteor, dragons breath, wreckless fury, sleep with the fishes, cataclysm, doom, dead mans hand, psychic scream, dragonfire potion, maelstrom portal, volcano, etc etc.
Hell even crushing walls would've been welcomed in pally
Equality/consec is/are great but it's not nearly enough anymore.
Maybe paladin isnt viable (or it is idk) but I do know Ive never laughed more than at Val'anyr into Doppelgangster, try a more fun deck!
That's Incredible!
Is this a joke? According to Vicious Syndicate Live Data Reaper Tier List, Paladin is #1 at all ranks in both standard and wild.

That's not a forum, it's a thread tag that get's set by default and could be changed by OP

paladin is by far not as strong as prevous expansions but there is still strong decks out there :D

What about warrior its fucking garbage. Also paladin is just cancer.

HSreplay says Murloc Pally and Aggro Pally are the only two tier-1 decks currently. Why complain?
