I had an idea a few days ago and decided to build an aggro paladin deck based on the "If it's your opponent's turn" attribute some minions were given this expansion. This meta is too control heavy, let's change this !!
You can find the link to the deck and eveything you need to know here under:
I like the idea, but I am not sure if it has enough early game pressure. The murloc midrange pally is a similar concept, built primarily around buffing skelemancer, I have been having a lot of luck with that deck.
Thank you for your answer ! This deck deals pretty well with board clear heavy decks like priest or mage, by locking the board and making it impossible to use AOEs, but I agree with the possible lack of early game pressure.
Personally I don't find Corpsetaker to serve much use for the value in the meta right now. You don't really need the life steal usually if your goal is for shorter games. The Phantome Freebooter/Truesilver combo seems a little too situational. I would kill chillblade though as it's good for aggro. I think Hydrologist would be a good, the secrets can really turn games around, especially redemption for keeping your taunts on the board.
I would also cut Vryghoul. It's just a weak card. It pretty much is the same as Scarlet Crusader , but (and this is a big but) You cannot trade with it, because then it's just a 3/1, whereas the crusder does basically the same thing no matter whose turn is it. It is a bit more vulnerable to pings, but if Your opponent has to ping Your 3-drop twice, You will probably win anyway.
Thanks for taking the time to answer guys ! I think the Vryghoul are underrated. This card does more than it seems, it simply stops the opponent from using board clears, but using Devilsaur Egg is a great idea ! We can try different versions of this deck and give our feedbacks here if you want !
Hi guys, I just wanted to update this thread, I hit rank 8 by playing only this deck, approximately one hour per day, I think it is pretty solid right now, and I think I can easely hit rank 5 this way ! How well are you doing with this deck ? :D
I also added Tirion Fordring just to help me pushing for lethal if the game lasts to long.
I think dire wolf alpha is really underestimated. I'm running a aggro/midrange paladin deck in wild with some of the same cards but a little more token oriented. Lost in the Jungle into Dire Wolf Alpha has been absolutely insane. Another combo I have really liked is Steward of Darkshire or Sunkeeper Tarim paired with Southsea Deckhand plus Patches the Pirate for insane value. You could look to run Dread Corsair as well since you are running Rallying Blade and Truesilver Champion for a 0 or 1 mana 3/3 taunt. Devilsaur Egg seems good if you can consistently proc is within the next 2 turns or its a dead play which is really bad in an aggro/midrange deck. Maybe in wild it would be better since you can curve into Keeper of Uldaman for massive tempo so you can save taunt effects for Skelemancer.
Corpsetaker is good in some midrange decks, but definitely shines in control paladin. If you were playing wild and had Shielded Minibot as an extra divine shield proc maybe it would be good enough, but even then I'm not sure. Wickerflame Burnbristle is fantastic at times, especially vs priest if you can hit it with a Spikeridged Steed but that's 2 card 9 mana combo where priest has usually taken control with his EZ BIG EZ PRIEST minions or is just machine gunning you 2-3 times a turn to clear your board.
I really like the idea of this deck, ill test some of these cards in my deck to see how it goes. I like Bonemare but I'm unsure how to fit it in or risk raising my curve since claiming the board early is so important. Arrogant Crusader seems way too slow tbh.
I'll just link my deck so maybe we can help eachother improve our decks even if we are playing different formats. I made this deck just a few days ago and have found it to be very fun and pretty efficient for climbing ladder as well. Your deck certainly has more finishing power and is AoE proof compared to mine unless I get a lot of divine shields, but good token generation with Sunkeeper Tarim means I can always pull out some turn 10-15 wins.
Dire Wolf Alpha is for sure an excellent card, very efficient associated with Devilsaur Egg or Skelemancer, or basically every other card in your deck for value trades.
Arrogant Crusader is really slow, but I don't know for which car I could swap it out in standard :/ Maybe including a part of the pirate package is a good idea, but I'd also like more resilience on the board, more stickiness, and I don't really know which cards could help me with this.
I'll maybe try Lost int the Jungle ! This deck would be way more powerful in wild mode, that's for sure !
I'm not sure about either of those changes, both are slow cards on their own. of course the dream would be pulled doomsayer that they cant deal with for a free 7/x minion, but being forced to spend the mana on doomsayer is just brutal. meat wagon could maybe work, the big downside to having it buffed or with a dire wolf next to it is you risk pulling your sunfury/argus which really hurts egg consistency or your ability to force your opponent into procing the deathrattle on skelemancer.

You are totally right, but I wanted to test something crazy (that works sometimes) haha ! Do you have any idea for replacement ? :D I was thinking about Cobalt Scalebane ?

Scalebane could be really good if you're consistently ahead on board. If you find yourself in that position, sunborne val'kyr could also be decent consideration. If you have 2 minions you get 5/8 worth of stats for 5 mana which possibly helps you make better trades going into a steed/tarim turn.
Yeah, I'll try everything haha, that's what I like the most about this game, trying every possible combination :D Keep us informed if you're trying this too !

I had the same problem in Paladin with the 3 mana spot in another deck. Finally I tested it with Igneous Elemental and the 2 fireflies you get worked really well with Sunkeeper Tarim. I think with all the buffs in this deck it might be the right choice here too.

Let's discuss about it, and try to make aggroadin great again !!!
I like the idea, but I am not sure if it has enough early game pressure. The murloc midrange pally is a similar concept, built primarily around buffing skelemancer, I have been having a lot of luck with that deck.

I don't really know what to swap out, maybe the two Corpsetaker , Wickerflame Burnbristle and the Chillblade Champion, in order to add an extra Truesilver Champion and two Phantom Freebooter, not really sure about this, great loss of tempo, but it would be pretty exotic !
Maybe something more sticky on the board ?
Personally I don't find Corpsetaker to serve much use for the value in the meta right now. You don't really need the life steal usually if your goal is for shorter games. I agree with the fact that Corpsetaker isn't helping much, felt it while testing the decklist.
I'm gonna try Hydrologist, maybe one more Sunfury Protector or even Grimestreet Outfitter ?!
I would also cut Vryghoul. It's just a weak card. I tried a similar one but in wild with eggs. In my opinion this strategy works better there since you have more sinergy and more sticky minions.
For standard this is sometimes meh. The Vryghoul sadly are really weak
Thanks for taking the time to answer guys !

We can try different versions of this deck and give our feedbacks here if you want !
Edit : updated decklist by adding 2x Devilsaur Egg and 2x [card]Hydrologist[/card] and swapping out 2x Vryghoul and 2x Corpsetaker
What do you think about using 1x Dire Wolf Alpha instead of Wickerflame Burnbristle ?
Edit : I added Divine Favor !
Hey there! I really like your idea. I think it can be even better in the Wild mode. I will test it and give you the feedbck.
Thanks !
Yes I definitely think that this deck will be even better in wild mode, your feedback will be welcome ! :)
@Jambi93 you are right, but it is less vulnerable to other types of board clears :)
Feel free to upvote the deck, the more people contribute to it, the better it will get ! :D
