What do you think about this deck? It's the usual Midrange Paladin shell but you have Nesting and Eater of Secrets. This is just an idea which I'm not so sure about. I have a couple of different versions of it, one with two equalities and kodo, this one is with eater and 1 equality and Nesting. What is your feedback overall on this tech card in this particular deck.
Honestly, I've had a good time in the Pally-Mage matchup. Usually I come out on top but sometimes I just wish I had this card in the deck. As you already know, once the herd sees Mage is tier 1, before you know it you queue into mage constantly.
To be quite honest, I do not like it that much. I prefer to run more important cards, but looking forward to seeing what other people think and it's very interesting to me who is running it and how it's been working out for him/her.
You don't need Eater to win against secret mage. It's a matchup that you win by playing carefully around his secrets, and avoid playing Steed if you are unsure of what secret the mage has. If you get a taunted 1/3 on his side, it's an uphill battle to fight for board dominance again. It's part of the reason why most people run 1 Steed lately.
Paladin can counter Burn/Secret mage pretty well, I think that Eater of Secrets could be just a wasted slot that will take the place of something more efficient and usefull.
That's not true against secret mage. You need a board, and Getaway Kodo generates card advantage also. Depending on the Paladin version you are using, your best secrets are those that allow sticky minions to clear their side.

Eh, if you kill them fast enough, that is all that is stopping you. Of course, it depends on what deck you and your opponent run. Some decks don't even run ice block, but slower, more control oriented versions do and against that it is invaluable. Eater of Secrets is wasted and I'd say Ivory Knight or even Lay on Hands are going to be much more worthwhile.
Yep, overall I was just playing with the idea but in the end, I do not think it needs a spot in the deck, as midrange pally is super solid as it is right now. I guess it could also depend on what you're queuing into.
I hate losing to Ice Block, so I include the eater in all the decks I play at the moment. In Paladin I find there's space, in silence priest it's a decent target for buffs, and in evolve shaman you can just drop it on an evolve turn.
I actually like having the consistency of the pure mirange paladin and this card means you have to sacrifice something else. When it works though, it's glorious! :D Can you share what you chose to repace for eater?
I hate Secret Mage so much I put it in all my decks. Hopefully if enough people follow suit the deck will get bullied out of the meta and I wont have to play against it anymore.
It will work just as good as other midrange murlock decks. Maybe when the fucking mage problem gets out of hand but idk. Actualy all this murlock shell and paladins cards are of so high quality that it prolly doesnt matter what else you put there :P
Its like with every other tech card... Youre struggling against this one specific class so you add a tech card.
Tech cards always lower the quality of your deck. It just might happen that for few days its performance might be higher than normal.

All you need is Eye for an Eye from Hydrologist and you are pretty much set in the match up.

For what profit is it to a man, if he gains the world and loses his own soul?
Sure its a blowout for 1 matchup, but then you have to put eater of secrets in your deck :/

Absolutely play Eater of Secrets. It will get you many rage-quit wins vs. Mage and Paladin.
