This is the deck I'm currently running, not sure if I'm using enough buffs to make Wickerflame Burnbristle worth running, but the idea is to abuse shields and in the early game vs aggro and push damage vs midrange/control. The only decks I really struggle with are control dragon priest (which IMO is a bad deck) and midrange jade shaman.
is wickerflame worth crafting for these situations or just as a card overall in a midrange paladin deck?
He doesn't get played on curve, so the comparison to Annoyotron isn't particularly helpful. FWIW, Annoyotron would see play in Standard midrange Paladin, given the current aggro meta. In the deck which the OP is playing, it will enter play as a 3/3 or better - for three mana, it's a Psychotron, Sunwalker, etc, that heals the hero. Currently, Paladin isn't strong in Standard, but the card is currently seeing play in MR Paladin in Wild - it's a deck which can handle Pirate Warrior, which is otherwise difficult for Secret Paladin.
Thanks for the replies guys. I haven't crafted him yet but am very close to pity timer and am hoping I get him to test, or I'll stop hoarding my dust, think I'm at almost 30k lol.
I do play wild midrange paladin as well, so anything to improve the secret paladin matchup since there are so many of those fuckers lol
He's been OK for me, but not craft worthy. His effect just isn't game changing against anything but super aggro. Vs any midrange or control match-up he's fairly bad since his stats are low and he isn't aggressive enough to pressure your opponent unless you've put a ton of buffs on him which isn't always a given if you draw him late.
He is worth crafting for any deck that buffs. In fact in a smuggler run deck he is indispensable. I would not craft him unless you have a different deck in mind other then the one posted.
This guy single-handedly beat my pirate warrior a few times already. Having to spend so many resources while healing the paladin 4 or more life (if buffed) is too much for the poor pirate..
So, IMO it's insta-include in this meta if you want to play paladin

Not really.
He's an overpriced annoyotron.
Even though it is an overpriced Annoy-o-Tron.
In this patches meta you would play Annoy-o-Tron if you could.
he's auto-include in buffadin, but buffadin is terrible, so.
I would save dust and craft another legendary.
Thank You for this discussion guys. Its very helpful.
No

If paladin had a worthwhile 2 mana weapon, he would be worth a lot more.

If you want to waste 1600 dust then it's a great idea.
