In summary, each class will have a new, better hero power after the battlecry from this card! It's permanent until replaced by Jaraxxus, Majordomo, etc. Here's the mage one:

What do you guys think about Fireblast Rank 2? How does it compare to the other improved hero powers?
Honestly, on its own I wouldn't think of it as much, compared to a free draw card for warlock, and a 4 health heal/damage for priest, and a 3 dmg huntard (dammit), bearing in mind the hunter can aim his hero power with steamwheedle.
HOWEVER, AFAIK mage is the only class to get unlimited hero power with Coldarra drake, whereas other classes only get (so far) a 2x hero power 2 drop (which is plenty situational as a 2 drop, with hero powers costing 2 mana and quick removal).
Play this thing turn 6. Play a Coldarra Drake turn 7, and turn 8 = 16 dmg to face, assuming the drake lives/gets duplicated/echo of medivh.
In fact, with this in play, Fallen hero x1 or x2 late game is almost a fireball of damage. 4 dmg the turn u play the fallen heros. Wow. Plus Coldarra from the turn before? 1TK combo?
Combo ping (machine gun mage) NEEDS this card to be a viable ladder deck. I fully expect a version of freeze mage or grinder mage that combos this amazingly!
as someone who has played mage the most out of his time on hearthstone,i can tell you that past turn 6 doing 2 damage instead of one will do little to nothing for you.
what if i echo the guy and play him again. Can my hero power deal 3?
It doesn't increase the damage, it changes the hero power.
but it says "replace it with a better hero power"
It doesn't up the damage anymore if you played it twice, it doesn't work like shadowform where the second one ups the dmg of the first one. Once you get the Fireblast Rank 2, it'll deal 2 dmg unless there are Fallen Hero's on the board (or any other potential card that buffs hero powers).

But mage is really flexible as a class, so it could potentially work with inspire decks.

It work's, and very wel. Deal 2 damage for 2 mana is a free card spell, and if you combo the card it does has a immense potential. of course this is not gonna work on a freeze mage, but is very good on a tempo one.
Nah, this is a value card not a tempo card. A 6/3 for 6 is pretty terrible when you are trying to play the tempo game and mage has better turn 8 plays. If this sees play, it'll be in the new inspire mage that I see becoming a big time threat in the game.
Playing gold warrior and gold mag, and usually 8th rank, to me mag with this card gets worst deal.
Other hero gets 2 armor + 2 dmg = 4 dmg difference, while mage gets 2 instead of 1. When you multiply every skill by 2 they do not match up anymore.
Same free card on warlock for 2 mana without taking damage is quite OP, that's not even 1dmg. I hope Blizzard will stop with this trend of introducing OP cards, that end the game in one round. Recently less tactic is needed and more luck to get killing combo, people like it and pretend that it's "strategy". Come'on :)
Big NO to cards dealing huge amount of damage in one turn.
Mage most certainly did not get the shaft. Mage is actually one of only 5 classes that can make this card work at all and have amazing combo options to pile on top of its hero power boost. Paladin, priest, druid and warrior are the other four in my opinion if you were wondering.

THAT BODY IS GARBAGE!
There I said it, okay? Can I just say I love this card now?

You'd need Maiden of the Lake before you can do your turn 6-7-8 combo for 16 dmg, but the danger is really there!

Waiting to see a Trolden clip of a freeze Mage Variation using this with Maiden of the Lake + Coldarra Drake + 2 Fallen Hero for potentially 40 damage
This will be seen in this new "fireblast" mage. Am sure there will be a Troll video with 2 Fallen Hero and a few more from Piloted Shredder or Unstable Portal or Effigy or Duplicate or Echo of Medivh.
Not sure if hyped yet.

I LOVE the name of the improved hero power #oldschool

YOUR SOUL SHALL SUFFER!!! *plays Wisp* GG!!

i HAVE to try that MACHINEGUN mage :D
At the end of a long meeting trying to pick a name for the new hero power
"Fuck it, lets just add 'rank 2' to the end of it"

At this point it'll be just okay. But you can bet the new mage legend will very likely have synergy with HP which could make it more appealing.
Playable card, I think it will be pretty useful in some situations
