Blizzard seems to be steering hunters towards 1-drop heavy decks with the expansion, but does anybody think midrange might see a boost with the handbuff/adapt combo? Hunter already had some cards that benefited from handbuffs (Rat Pack and Dispatch Kodo come to mind), but it was always RNG dependent if you used cards like Smuggler's Crate or Trogg Beastrager. I think adapt could add more cards to the pool that pull an extra benefit from the buffs, though. Being able to slap Liquid Membrane, Shrouding Mist, or Crackling Shield onto a big, buffed minion helps you avoid hard removal.
I'm eyeing that Volcanosaur in particular. Just one hit with a Smuggler's Crate and you're looking at a 7-mana 7/8 beast with two adapts. Manage to pull a windfury and stealth, and your opponent is gonna be staring down lethal most of the time fishing for taunts or burning AOE removal to deal with a single minion.
Thunder Lizard is intriguing, too. Could be a turn 3 5/5 with adapt with the right starting hand. It's not looking like Elementals are going to be overly present in Hunter decks, but it may make sense to include a few depending on how the remaining reveals shake up.

Well, genuinely five minutes after I posted this, this card was revealed:

So, maybe there's something to it!
