I think this is actually a really interesting topic. Standard Jade decks really have no chance against aggro decks because of lack of early board presence and lack of board clear...however they perform superbly against other control match-ups because of late game armor stack, potentially infinite draw (counters fatigue strategies), and the eventual win condition of Jade statue growth.
I would like to think that there is a comfortable setup that incorporates some extra board presence to contest aggro decks whilst still retaining that late game dominance. For example:
- Replacements like Starfall for better flexibility with removal, or Wild Pyromancers as well that happens to synergize greatly with Acolyte of Pain which I always like to consider adding because of Druids poor innate card draw.
I suppose the decision comes in, "where are sacrifices made to accommodate these alterations?" I am intending playing around with some variations of Jade in these coming weeks instead of laddering. Realistically, the inclusion of a single Jade Idol can act as a super-late game contingency, so there's still plenty of possibilities on the table to find success with the Jade Archetype I believe.
It actually doesn't have that bad of a matchup against aggro decks . My personal stats are pretty much close to 50% against pirate warrior but they are around 40% for hunter . Hunter are a bid harder to beat since they tend to go bigger with highmanes , a type of minions which pirate doesnt have .
Hard mulliganing and getting the needed spells is very important in these matchups . I did not play the deck to legend but played it in legend ranks and I think it can be good to ladder with . Especially with the huge increase of the mage decks .
