In this thread you call out your opinion on any WoG card you want and some time after the expansion releases we'll see who called it right!
Note: Post edited after the expansion hits will be ignored.
Rule (please try to follow this rule to the best of your ability, as it will highly help the thread and its value for everyone):
- You may post only 1 post calling out the cards and edit it as much as you'd like (prior to the expansion's release). The reason being is that I wish for this thread to be filled with opinions on the cards, rather than debates and arguments.
The infinitely intelligent people who got it right will be displayed on the OP :)
- Forbidden flame will be tier 1 card in tempo mages. Reason: This card can combo with almost all cards in that deck and can be used any time for max value due to its flexibility.
- N'zoth is wayyy over hyped, just like Varian was. Remember? There were many many people who said that Varian will be brokenly OP and run in all control warriors. It's the hype talking out of your mouth people!!
- Klaxi amber dude (druid 4 mana minion) will see very little to zero play.
- DOOM! will be in almost all reno warlock decks.
- After the hype is gone, people will release that the new druid legendary is as good as the 6 mana 4/4 shaman legendary, if not worse. Will not see competitive play.
Im not interested in taking any low hanging fruit, so here goes.
I'm calling that mid-range Shaman will be a top 10 standard deck and will run Hallazeal the Ascended. Not exactly a crazy guess, but with pally losing so much of its early game, Shaman losing next to nothing and the new shaman legendary being solid in the deck, it seems poised to finally make a mark on the meta.
Control Rogue won't happen yet, but we will see more midrange archetypes (not just combo decks)... Raptor will become slower, possibly even capping out with N'Zoth and Anub.
Tentacles for Arms will be played in Fatigue Warrior, and people will complain about it.

Varian is an amazing Card (I run him in my Patron Warrior) but its too small and counter-intuitive for Control Warrior. (When Wrynn plays BGH and other Tech Cards it's definitely a FeelsBadMan moment) Nobody that I recall said Wrynn was going to end up like our good friend Tirion Fordring where there's no wrong deck to put him in, he's just a really good card that doesn't have a spot right now.
N'zoth will see Value in Wild more than Standard, Cards like Dreadsteed and Reincarnate really like N'zoth, and that's where N'zoth's value ends. Because lets be honest: Is 10 Mana really worth a 5/7 and maybe like a 2/3 and a 6/6? or in Wild res-ing some Stickier-Deathrattle minions that can't be sticky anymore because you just filled the board? It can't win you the game out of your arse like Anyfin Can Happen or his Fellow God C'Thun.
On the forum-topic: I think the Class Legendaries so far will be sitting on a shelf with Iron Juggernaut and Flame Leviathan. Cool effects, potentially useful, but currently worthless.
N'Zoth the Corruptor will be too slow for wild since most games end turn 5-7 but he will be the most played card in standard. Those calling him Dr. 10 stand correct. He's the most OP card in the WOG expansion.
Forbidden Shaping will be a common Control Priest card, and while probably not a staple will continue to see use even after people are done experimenting.
- N'Zoth will make Deathrattle decks viable in wild. Not dominant, but good enough. This will help struggling decks like Raptor Rogue and Reincarnate Shaman. Could possibly create Deathrattle Warrior (with Varian), Deathrattle Priest (Resurrect) and Deathrattle Paladin (Tirion FFS)
- N'Zoth is missing a few good midrangey Deathrattles for standard. Waiting for card reveals.
- C'Thun is a great card for newbie decks. BGH, SW:D, Rend, Polymorph, Execute, Hex etc. limit his viability against top tier decks.
- Xaril is a fun card and will see play. Rogue's viability in standard hinges on whether they get a replacement for Oil or not.
- Forbidden Flame will be an occasional arena pick.

"As housecarl I am sworn to your service. I will protect you and all you own, with my life." - Lydia of Whiterun
Hallazeal the Ascended will suck
I returned to this game much like how a recovering alcoholic can relapse.

Calling it, Xaril, Poisoned Mind will suck, people will craft this shit out and test and play and regret after force fitting him into their deck.
Control/Heal Paladin will be viable.
Control Rogue won't happen yet, but we will see more midrange archetypes (not just combo decks)... Raptor will become slower, possibly even capping out with N'Zoth and Anub.
Tentacles for Arms will be played in Fatigue Warrior, and people will complain about it.
Kripparian calling it:
The Shaman legendary: "Yes, this IS a real card. Out of all the WoG cards I've seen so far this one is the best"
C'thun: "There is slightly a chance that this will be so so good, that it might be a little bit broken"
Hogger, doom of elwyn: "Kinda sucks".
"As housecarl I am sworn to your service. I will protect you and all you own, with my life." - Lydia of Whiterun
N'Zoth the Corruptor will be too slow for wild since most games end turn 5-7 but he will be the most played card in standard. Those calling him Dr. 10 stand correct. He's the most OP card in the WOG expansion.
Trump calling it:
C'thun: "needless to say, C'thun is awesome".
Forbidden shaping: "I don't see this card being played, but it will be experimented with".
The shaman legendary: "Kripparian talked up this card allot, and for good reason".
"As housecarl I am sworn to your service. I will protect you and all you own, with my life." - Lydia of Whiterun
Tentacles for Arms will be a decent draft pick for Arena warriors.
Amaz calling it:
Priest legendary: "terrible 1/10".
Shaman legendary: "7/10".
N'zoth: "very very good. Very very promising. I am excited to see it. 9/10".
"As housecarl I am sworn to your service. I will protect you and all you own, with my life." - Lydia of Whiterun
Xaril, Poisoned Mind will be deceptively bad
C'Thun will be around the meta for a long time
need take time to make new pic and signature using the new cards.
Kolento calling it!
Ancient shield bearer: "I might play a C'thun deck just for the battlecry of this card".
Hogger, doom of elwyn: "Better than original Hogger. Decent."
Forbidden shaping: "cool but not good".
Validated doomsayer: "I think it's bad".
C'thun's chosen: "In a C'thun deck this might be good (in constructed)".
"As housecarl I am sworn to your service. I will protect you and all you own, with my life." - Lydia of Whiterun
Tentacles for arms meta.
Calling it:
Forbidden Shaping will be a common Control Priest card, and while probably not a staple will continue to see use even after people are done experimenting.
This is right around the time of card reveal season where people get sassy with each other.

- Xaril is a fun card and will see play. Rogue's viability in standard hinges on whether they get a replacement for Oil or not.
- Forbidden Flame will be an occasional arena pick.
- None of the other cards are really relevant.
I am not saying in a i told u so way but i think eater of secrets is a viable secret tech option in standard.
N'Zoth will put Mid-Range Pally with a few key Deathrattle Minions in tier 1-2 range.
Also, C'Thun will shape the meta, put rogue in high tiers, and people will not run the warlock cultist.
Yogg-Saron will be the Old God of Build Brawls.
Soggoth and/or Zerus will see a decent amount of play.
TGT cards will see a lot more play in standard (Such as Kodo Rider and Tournament Medic) due to the power level scaling down.
Beast Druid will shine and Compete with C'Thun Druid.
