So I was playing a game vs a Mage as a C'thun preist. and I dropped my C'thun to clear his board (I had not gotten any good pulls for the entire game) and it did just that, wiped his board, took him down to 5hp. then he did what all mages do: Polymorph your big finisher card. because mages. For my deck C'thun dieing is not a issue, I have Doomcaller as a cycle card for C'thun, But to be a clever person I decided to keep Doomcaller in hand untill as late as possible, So the game goes on and on and on. This mage not really drawing anything he needs. Eventually he plays Yogg'sauron and kills everything on the board, and then plays tree of life, because total reset. My C'thun is at about 50/50 or so. and I decide "Now is the perfect time to go Double C'thun bitch!" So, in the first turn of fatigue I play Doomcaller, and nothing happens. my c'thun goes up to 60/60 from 58/58 and the card dosn't appear in my deck. So I sit there scratching my head and grab one of my mates. we go do some testing with the verious 'transform' and similar spells. and we discover something: ANY ABILITY WHICH TRANSFORMS THE CARD DOES NOT 'KILL' C'THUN IN A WAY IT CAN BE RECOVERED WITH DOOMCALLER.
I don't know if this is deliberate by blizzard but it doesn't feel right. it feels like it gives 2 classes a super-hard counter to c'thun. I will be doing further experiments with Resurrection, and N'zoth (The only other 2 cards in standard that interact with the 'grave yard' ) to see if it is just Doomcaller that is effected.
Of course transforming C'thun won't count as killing him, just like it doesn't count for any other card. It's as if you no longer have a C'thun, he is just gone

Well, after using Polymorph or Hex you transform the minion to a sheep or frog. You don't actually kill the minion, so it pretty much never died and it's why deathrattles don't go off. You can even just test this with Resurrect. If the only minion that died was a frog from Hex, the only minion you'll summon is the frog.
This is deliberate. It's the same thing that happens with N'Zoth. If your Sylvannas gets polymorphed, it won't be summoned back. It's also the same with the Priest spell resurrect. If you had Sylvannas polymorphed and you cast that spell, you would get the sheep back and not the original minion.
Considering that you got your C'thun to 60/60, It's a good thing that there are two classes that actually can fatigue C'thun decks. I was beginning to think that N'zoth was the only way to beat C'thun warrior in a grindy game.
Well, it is a "Transform" mechanic after all, this got me thinking that maybe with the popularity of C'Thun decks, Tinkmaster Overspark is now a viable tech card in some decks that can't easily remove C'Thin. If you are playing a control deck, there's a decent chance you have a board and C'Thin is used as a board-clear instead of a finisher, in which case there will only be a C'Thun on the board and you can afterwards play your Tinkmaster Overspark to greatly reduce its stats and make your opponent unable to return it ti their deck. Just a thought though, it may not happen often enough to make the inclusion worthy.
It's suppose to be like that because that is how it is with any minion and the transformation like Hex and Polymorph spells. I mean, come on. Dual C'Thun's in one game is just OP. At the same time, this basically makes Doomcaller's card effect worthless. Not very many people actually destroy C'Thun.
I will cry you a river, but there's probably more than three ways to stop him. At the moment it does seem that Mage is the current best counter for C'Thun. Assuming you survive his effect. hahahah
It's like you never heard of Anyfin OTK. The only way to prevent the combo is transforming or entombing the key murlocs. So Doomcaller, Resurrect and N'Zoth are definately not the only cards working with a "graveyard".

It's painfully obvious this is how it's supposed to work.
I returned to this game much like how a recovering alcoholic can relapse.

/facepalm polymorph and hex have worked like this since the dawn of time why would C'thun be any different?

If you entomb your opponent's C'thun do they continue to buff it in YOUR deck for when you play it?
SUP!

It's just like Stalagg and Feugen - death must occur in order to trigger a death-based effect.
Free to try and find a game, dealing cards for sorrow, cards for pain.
polymorph and hex are like MTG "swords into Plowshares" put the card out of the game and give you a happy meal in return :)
