Here's my version of an effective secret mage deck that does not depend on the legendary weapon Aluneth. If you have it, substitute it for one copy of Arcane Intellect. I tried several lists for secret mage and came up with this one after some testing.

We have 3 secret enablers in Kabal Lackey and Kirin Tor Mage, along with 5 secrets, including the outstanding addition Explosive Runes. You can substitute a 2nd Counterspell if you don't have Spellbender.

Mulligan primarily for Mana Wyrm, Arcanologist, and the enablers above. You can keep a secret with an enabler if it fits the matchup well. Note: Don't keep Counterspell if the opponent has the coin. Typically do not keep Explosive Runes because it is better in the mid-game.

Keep Medivh's Valet on coin or if you have either Arcanologist or a secret.

Corridor Creeper is here to provide more cheap/free 5/5 minions in addition to Kabal Crystal Runner. If you don't have both of these you can use Bonemare as a substitute.

Have fun with secret mage! It seems very competitive in the first month of the K&C meta.
