I've played mostly miracle druid on ladder for past month and a half, it was pretty good last expansion and now it's even better. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw Savjz streaming this deck, but currently I think some changes are warranted.
My current version is pretty much same, changes include:
-2x mire keeper
-1x moonfire
+1x spreading plague
+1x Fandral Staghelm
+1x Claw
If you're going to run this deck on ladder you will most likely need 2 spreading plagues currently. After I made that change it was "easy" to beat almost all aggro decks as long as you drew your spreading plague by turn 6 or whenever you had 6 mana. Sometimes even waiting one more turn with it was beneficial. Mire keepers are kind of nice, but don't be fooled since it's dead card later in game and if you just go for ramp against current aggro decks you will die. It's too slow right now.
As for other changes, Fandral is just too solid card not to play in this. Against aggro it's also good scarecrow which heals whatever damage your opponent puts into it. Claw is different kind of fuel for Auctioneer, moonfire can get past taunts and such, but currently I think that extra bit of synergy with spell stone and option for a bit better early removal is really good. Claw is keep in mulligan whenever you face zoo, murlocs or whatever.
Achieved around 60% winrate with it during legend climb and after getting there I reseted stats, currently sitting at 57%.
In summary, I suggest anyone interested in this build just play it since as long as geist isn't around in big numbers this deck is strong, even against more aggressive opponents. Worst match up I've encountered so far is new big druid which ran Oakheart. Would need 2 naturalize for that match and even then I'm not sure deck could handle turn where dragon hatcher pulls deathwings on board...
Thank you for the notes. I never thought to try claw but def will.
I Have been playing with variations trying to find something optimal to ladder with. I questioned the amount of ramp due to late game dead cards but was eyeing the jade blossoms over the mire keeps to cut. Jade blossom feels like more of a late game dead card than the keepers, i guess it can force a draw with auctioneer and boost jade idol.
Also Naturalize feels like more of a liability than an asset much of the time.
No problem. I haven't been playing deck as much as in start of expansion now, mainly because I played it so much earlier.
I'm now trying a bit different approach and haven't played this exact version in current meta, but from what I can tell it's not *that* good anymore. Cubelock is just too strong for it when it gets it's weapon and doomguard early and can cube that and while all aggro and tempo decks are definitely beatable, it's more a fun deck than competitive ladder one. You can most likely still climb ladder with it, but maybe not so efficiently. It's annoying when some control/combo decks can also counter this besides exodia mage and high rolling big priest...
Priests tend to be still favorable. At least on legend ladder (EU) you should consider trying something else. Granted, I haven't been playing as much standard ladder now because it got pretty tiresome really fast so can't say with 100% accuracy...
nice deck but... geist and u r screwd...
True but basically no one is running it so that's not exactly a concern.
This deck is fine but lacks defense in hunter and warlock matches. They will just attack face as you try to ramp and by the time you have UI your already dead.
I would disagree with this statement. I've been playing this deck for the last few days and I have never had trouble in the Hunter and Warlock match ups. They cannot compete with your late game and your card draw in this deck is insane. You have no problems drawing into what you need.
Some infos about the updated list? saw Stancifka played it last season & fell in love with the deck
Mulligan and other tips?
You are looking for your mana ramp early. You want wild growth, mire keeper, jade blossom, and nourish, though the nourish can be sent back for something that's stronger early if you would like. If you can ramp into it, I would recommend keeping it.
